Ariva Beijing West Hotel & Serviced Apartment - Beijing

On the 29th and 30th Beijing was a searing 31 degrees celcius, though apparently it was still winter thus the Ariva has no cooling system. Checks with the hotel staff revealed that it was the Beijing government rule that air-conditioning can only be switched on on the 14th of May. To make matters worst, the central heating can't be switched off. There […] was only one window that can be opened about 5 inches. We stayed in the Orchid hotel on the 28th and had individual air-condition for the room and on the 1st we moved to Park Plaza Wangfujing which had aircond too. So I can't understand what the rules of the government Ariva was talking about. Otherwise reception was helpful, but no bell services or any offer to help with the luggages. The spa that offered massage was exceptionally poor in service and unkempt. The rooms were spacious but not good idea for the steep and narrow steps that lead to the loft bedroom, even worse if you have to lug your heavy baggage up. Like the to bathrooms in each room and the writing desk, internet and 2 LCD TVs. With aircond and light luggage, the hotel would be value for money if you intent to visit the Summer Palace and shop at the IT/Electronic malls. Too far from Beijing centre, cab can cost RMB 80 to the city. Les mer

I was looking forward to my stay at Ariva Beijing after booking it via Hotels.com, yet what a disappointing experience I had. I booked a room for 2 adults and 2 children, aged 6 and 8 (these are clearly stated on the booking form), and upon check-in, I found out that we were given a room with only 2 single beds. I can't see how the 4 of us can fit in […] these 2 single beds. When asking at the reception, I was told that this is a standard room for 4, and the reception suggested that combining the 2 beds to have 3 of us sleep on it, and the hotel will add an additional single bed at the cost of RMB 200 a day! I couldn't understand why I paid for 4 and only have 2 beds and have to pay extra, and even after paying extra there are still not enough room for the 4 of us. At the end, the hotel agreed to move us to a slightly bigger room, with 2 bigger single beds (which were put together and called a super kingsize bed), and give us a third single bed free of charge. Still, 3 of us have to squeeze into the so called super king size bed, and I wouldn't call this a satisfying hotel experience. The front desk girl told me that same complaint has been received previously. Another thing to mention is the low level of customer service skills at the front desk. The basic check in process took longer than 30 minutes because the lady who was dealing with me consitantly answering phone calls and dealing with other customers before completing my check in. And it seems a standard behaviour at the front desk. When I went back to query about my room, the floor manager was right behind the counter, and gave instructions to the girl, but wouldn't have the courtesy to at least apologize for the poor experience I received. The hotel was very good but the the air conditioning did not work. The staff told it was normal. Not recommend for summer stay. The rest were perfect.

It is very close to zhongguancun and all the universities. I would stay the same hotel if I went back to beijing. Have wired internet in the room. wifi in the lobby. Would be nice to have wifi in the room in the future.

The hotel room is good. However, there is one minor thing they need to improve, the carpet are not clean properly. They need to vacum it more often.

This hotel is great for those who speak Chinese because the standard of English among staff varies from nil to very low. Having said that, the staff are very friendly and always willing to help. The management of the hotel is poor though. At breakfast time, for example, if you arrive to eat after the first lot of guests the chances are the tables would […] not have been cleaned. The staff complain that there aren't enough of them. Also, they don't serve you tea or coffee at the table, you have to help yourself if you want more tea or coffee. There aren't enough tea spoons, so you are likely to get a cocktail stick to stir your tea of coffee. On the whole, good value for money if you are willing to put up with some inconveniences. The loft apartment rate is cheap given that one is entitled to a 2 storey room complete with 2 toilets and 2 tvs. A study table, entrance toilet and sofa set in the living room complete with a loft bed and attached toilet ensures every business traveler a comfortable night's sleep with the option of entertaining guests in the 1st floor living room.

This was the nice surprise of the trip. Brand new with a two level loft, an office downstairs and bedroom upstairs, two baths and upstairs/downstairs flat TV's. The beds were a bit hard, but this is apparently normal in China. The hotel conveniently located near many of the universities where we were visiting our student via subway. A prime property […] at what are bargain prices in the West. The buffet breakfast was very nice and the staff helpful in setting up tours and otherwise overcoming the language barrier. Les mer

Liked the style of the room, very nice layout and sophisticated features. Staff were very friendly and swimming pool was good. The location being near to a subway station was very convenient to travel by. The only problem i found was that in the beer garden there was an unpleasant sewage smell. Overall an average hotel, would recommend to a friend.

everyhing's fine except the dirty carpet. the management should more concentrate on the cleanness of carpet. the cleaning person only vacuum the room carpet when they are asked to do so.

good things are with big swiming pool and fitness. However, it is not easy to find restaurants around hotel.

Everything is fine. Cant expect much when you in China. However, would like to highlight their service. Counter service is fine. Room service is fine. Is the waiter and the hotel restaurant services that gave a bad service experience. Order something he tried to remember using his memory. Only 3 of us and mess up the order. Pour wine to allow my friend […] to try on and walk away to talk another co-worker of his before coming back to ack if the wine good enough or not. Next waiting for main course. Hubby and my friend order the same pasta. 1 of the pasta came. 10mins later waiter informed us that unable to make the 2nd pasta due to not enough ingredient and asked my friend to choose another pasta choice. Another 10mins later, i asked if the pasta ready? Waiter say the pasta is being thaw still. Another 10mins later, pasta appeared. And guess what, is the same pasta that my hubby is having and which they say the ingredient is not enough. Its really shocking. Wonder where they get the ingredient from. (we are chinese and we understand them. No mis-communication. Unless the waiter dont mean what he says). Previous night forgets my friend dessert. Disappointing. Les mer

I enjoyed my recent 1-week stay at Ariva. Although the hotel is a bit far from many Beijing sites, except for the Summer Palace and Beijing University, it was conveniently located near a subway stop, Suzhou Jie on Line 10. I was very impressed by the spaciousness and comfort of my loft apartment. However, I would highly recommend that the hotel buy […] a good vacuum cleaner and hire a carpet cleaner, as the floors were not exactly clean. I would not try to walk around barefoot in the room. (To be fair, I have noticed that the problem of carpet cleanliness is not exclusive to Ariva in China.) I had mixed experiences with the hotel staff. Some were extremely helpful, and the room service staff were great. I had one great experience at the front desk, when the staff helped me find out which terminal my flight was leaving from. Another experience was not so great, however. A young man at the reception desk was very hesitant to help me locate and contact a Post Office for opening hours on a Saturday afternoon. Instead, he told me that I could get the information myself by calling the city's information line, getting a phone number and address for one of the branches, and then call the Post Office myself to see if they were open. After a very long, very circuitous, and very frustrating exchange, he finally helped me to get this information. Les mer

excellent stately hotel with wonderful swimming pool, friendly, helpful staff, well-appointed clean rooms, well-heated, nicely located for getting to places. I would absolutely stay here again.

The Gym, swimming pool, and sauna were always available, never crowded and very well managed. The executive lofts are well worth the price. Very comfortable and convenient stay. Internet service was very reliable and with fast speeds.

Dejligt hotel der engang var superflot og nu er flot.Det ligger godt i forhold til Metro og indkøb (Mall).Det er især Loft lejligheden der giver plus point.Dejlige store rum og badeværelser samt en meget fin udsigt af store vinduer.Minus er nok ,at der er ved at være lidt nedslidt,som du måske ikke ser med første øjekast,men gulvtæppet kunne godt trænge […] til at blive udskiftet og de forskellige vandinstallationer kunne også godt ses efter.Alt i alt rigtig meget for pengene. 酒店的设计挺不错，是loft式的，非常适合常住，但是服务和清洁方面仍然有待改进，设备稍有问题，找了人过来维修。地理位置也还ok。

飯店人員的服務態度不好 空調有問題 反應了沒有處理 也沒有換房

Спасибо, что вы есть, очень качественное обслуживание, удобное расположение от метро, безупречный английский у персонала, рядом находятся прекрасные парки архитектуры

сам по себе мне очень понравился: красивый недорогой номер, хорошее обслуживание, вкусная кухня, однако отель расположен далеко от центра. И если от отеля в центр можно доехать на такси по счетчику, то из центра до отеля водители просят тройную плату. На метро не ездила, но по оценкам обслуживающего персонала это занимает не меньше часа.

Nettes Personal jedoch Probleme mit Englischkenntnissen. (In China aber normal) Sauberkeit der Zimmer lässt zu wünschen übrig. Und das Waschmittel das für die Bettwäsche verwendet wurde ist grauenhaft...musste mit Hose und T-Shirt schlafen. Weiteres hat das Hotel Probleme mit der Klimaanlage...nach 1 Woche fühlte sich die Haut meiner Freundin an wie […] feinstes Krokoschuhleder. Ach und der TV-Empfang war auch sehr schlecht. Mich sehen die nicht mehr :) Les mer

Wer eine solide Unterkunft zu einem akzeptablen Preis sucht, ist bei dem o.g. Hotel richtig. Alles, was darüber hinaus geht, wird schwierig sein, hier zu erhalten. Die Mitarbeiter, mit denen ich zu tun hatte, verfügten über mangelhafte Englischkenntnisse und eine Verständigung war dementsprechend schwierig. Gut war die Ausstattung und die Sauberkeit […] der Zimmer. Auch die Verkehrsanbidung (U-Bahn 3 Minuten zu Fuß entfernt) war super, auch wenn das Hotel abseits des Stadtkerns liegt (bis zum Zentrum sind es etwa 30-40 Minuten mit der U-Bahn). Insgesamt kann ich das Hotel empfehlen, da ich nur die Nächte dort verbracht habe und es dafür mehr als ausreichend war. Les mer
