Swiss Inn Nile Hotel - Kairo

It was a big disapointment staying at Swiss Inn. We stayed at other branches before and they were fine and good but this branch is located in a horrible location. trash was everywhere, sheeps and goats and it was very noisy. the hotel building is old and in the inside maintenance and cleaniness is very poor. we had to change the room several times to […] find the best of the bad ..bathroom was disgusting,,the floor had lots of dark spots and didnt look clean at all the same with the tub and the worse was the toilet seat which had dark stains we had to put tissues all over to use it. the hangers holding the hand towels and bath towels were rusted and towels didn't smell good. it was really disappointing we didn't imagine that would be a branch of swiss inn, we thanked God it was only one night we had to stay there. i wouldn\t recommend this hotel at all and i hope the Swiss Inn Administration take more attention to that branch to maintian their good standards!! When you see the pictures of the hotel facing the nile u imagine its a special location but only through the highest floors you can see the nile which looked good but the minute u look back in the room or downin the street the beautiful sceen is lost immediately. No 2 days were the same in the hotel...we stayed for 10 days, complained twicw about housekeeping not cleaning our room or replacing the towels yet on other days the room was spotless and they even created bizzare sculptures out of towels! The first day we went for breakfast and were handed a plate of cheese, some stale bread rolls and not much of a […] smile. Later in the week we found a full buffet put on for breakfast????? The hotel itself was comfortable and clean but the staff are far from satisfactory. I appreciate we stayed during Ramadan and most staff would have been fasting and tired but at the same time, it is a hotel and the needs of the gyests should be met. Les mer

This hotel was the pits. They didn't have any alcohol in the hotel, only beer and wine, due to the downturn in tourism - or that was their excuse. For a hotel that was empty, they did nothing to please me while I was there. The duty manager was rude and racist towards my boyfriend. This hotel is basic and decent if you are looking for something cheap for a night but I would not recommend it as they do not have the best customer service and are interested in your money. Staff were rude. There is much better service elsewhere. Also, in the shower the water switches from hot to cold on its own throughout one's shower so prepare for […] a mixture of freezing and scalding. Internet is available for a surcharge but it is not the best and the hotel will not offer any assistance here when it stops working as a different company takes care of this. Breakfast was okay. I had great difficulty in looking for a hotel that was reasonably priced by of an above average standard. The Swiss Inn Nile was ideal. We were a family of five all adults and found the accommodation well suited. However if possible try and get a room over-looking the Nile.

The Swiis Nile Hotel in Cairo is terribly located, far away from downtown but sourrounded by a VERY dodgy neighbourghood. The were cows on an abandoned house right next to the hotel. The hotel itself it's fine, it just the area that is terrible.

The hotel is situated in one of the worst neighborhoods in Cairo, an extremely dirty street. The street was also too noisy; it was virtually impossible for me to sleep becuase of the noise coming from the street (even @ 4AM or 5AM). If you're a light sleeper, you don't want to stay in this hotel. My girlfriend (arab citizen) and I (Spanish) wanted […] to stay in the hotel, but the check in desk informed us that we cannot stay because we don't have a marriage certificate, we had to tip off the front desk staff to solve this! My major concern with the hotel has to do with general housekeeping and soft furnishing/beddings. From reception to rooms, work space and movement areas are usually clean, but a look at corners and back of chairs, beds, etc will reveal that the housekeepers are not good enough and are also poorly supervised. This I pointed out to the Manager on duty. […] The room soft furnishings and beddings also requires improvement for this hotel to really be a three star hotel. But the workers are very pleasant and eager to help. The location makes it very easy to move around, though the environment could be very rowdy in the night because it's such a busy area. Les mer

Upon arriving at the hotel, the manager on duty (at 11pm!!) opened my taxi door and greeted me in english (his english is decent). the room didn´t have two twin beds, but it did have two double beds--very firm and easy to sleep in!! the sheets and entire room smelled musky and dusty. The shower/tub looked very old but the shower head has amazing water […] pressure, and the water goes from cold to hot in 0.5 seconds!! The elevators are older and slower. the rooftop pool is great!!! you can see the entire city from there, but its windy!!! the restaurant was weird. The first time, it took them 30 minutes to make an order of onion rings and bring them to me, and the manager waited on me and spoke no english. the second time was much better and they brought me extra food at no charge. overall, i would recommend. it was just smelly inside is all. Нам достался номер с двумя окнами - с видом на Нил из комнаты и ванная с окном во двор. А во дворе у них стоят недостроенные дома, в которых живут люди. На крышах держат кур и баранов, мусор выбрасывают прямо на улицу. В-общем, обычный спальный район, по сравнению с ним даже Екатеринбург кажется чистым! Местные жители по-английски не понимают и выглядят […] довольно агрессивно. Кормят очень скудно, фруктов нет, соки - несъедобны. Обещанный бассейн вообще не работал, равно как и ресторан на крыше. Enkele maanden geleden verbleven we voor de 1e keer in Swiss Inn Nile, en werden op vele fronten bijzonder prettig verrast. Tijdens dit 2e verblijf werden we erg teleurgesteld. Het zwembad was leeg, het grillrestaurant op het dakterras was gesloten en onze kamer was ronduit vuil. Ons diner hebben we 3x terug moeten sturen, voordat het eetbaar was. Terwijl […] het we exact hetzelfde gerecht hebben besteld als voorheen (dat toen perfect was) , werd er dit keer iets totaal anders geserveerd, slecht van kwaliteit, lauw, tegen koud aan en verre van vers. Toen er 's morgens geen koffie geserveerd kon worden, omdat men het de avond er voor "druk" had gehad, was voor ons de maat vol en zijn we vervroegd uitgecheckt. We kregen niet de indruk dat de problemen in Swiss Inn Nile op korte termijn tot het verleden zullen behoren. Jammer van zo'n mooi hotel, dat nog maar een paar maanden geleden in topvorm leek te zijn. Het personeel was wel vriendelijk en begripvol. Heeft zelfs bemiddeld bij het vinden van een ander onderkomen. Les mer

Un petit bémol sur la propreté de la chambre car le service de nettoyage ne passait qu'en milieu d'après-midi (nous étions au dernier étage) alors que nous étions déjà rentrés de nos excursions (entre 15h et 16h00) ce qui fait que la chambre était finalement nettoyée 1/2 jours. Au niveau de la salle de nain, l'eau n'était pas constante et oscillait […] constamment entre le chaud e la froid malgré nos réglages. A part cela nous étions entièrement satisfaits. Le petit dej était varié et le personnel très aimable. L'hôtel se situe dans une zone qui n'est pas touristique mais qui se trouve à 15 minutes à pieds du métro qui vous donne accès à la ville du Caire rapidement. Les mer
