"Gangavstand fra Broadway"Anmeldt av en hotels.com-gjest den mai 7, 2012
Svært fornøyd med oppholdet på hotellet , meget serviceminded personell , god frokost , mulig litt støy i spisesalen , men helt grei mat. Svært hyggelige og imøtekommende personell , både i skranken , og butikken eller han som satte vekk bagasjen. Lett å få tidlig innsjekking og sen utsjekking . Alt i alt , meget bra.
Familie med to tenåringsdøtre. Fantastisk beliggenhet, flott service og komfortable rom. Suite Prestige med to dobble senger.
Veldig bra opphold over 4 dager. Frokosten var grei nok. Vår datter på 15 var veldig fornøyd. Veldig god service i resepsjonen.

"For the not-so-picky ones"
As a young couple living in a fairly big city, we're not too picky about standard or noise, which in this case was a good thing. We would certainly not recommend this hotel to anyone who can't sleep with a little noise all around, since there's quite a chance you might get a room next to the Manhattan Bridge (our 5th floor room was literally a couple […] of metres away from the railway line). The standard of the rooms and the public areas were satisfying for a couple staying a few days for sightseeing and shopping. The building was placed dead smack in the middle of Chinatown, which gave a pretty authentic experience both smell nad culture-wise. It's particularly because of the smell we wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone, but of you don't care about smell or simply isn't as as prudent as us about unknown smells, this is a great , cheap hotel experience in the lower Manhattan area, in walking distance from WTC and Wall St. Les mer

Fint hotell.
"Smelly"
This is probably one of the cheapes hotells in manhatten, it had good subway conection, so it was easy to get around. On the other hand it was in the middle of chinatown, new yorks cheapes most dirty area, so i was quite (bad) smelly right outside the hotel. The room was nothing special, but at least the location was in the manhatten. The area was alot […] uglier then the picture sugjests.
"Grusomt hotell."
Dårligste hotellet i New York?
"Hotel 91 - in the midle of Chinatown"
This hotel is not what it wants to be. The people who workshop there Are professional, but there is agere all the good thing ends. Me and my 2 kids stayed for 9 nights and they did not put clean sheets on the whole stay. Carpet on the floor is very dirty og the bathroom were in bad shape. Shower hardly worked. The location is in e middle of smelly Chinatown […] and the noicy bridge. I will not return. I will not recommend this hotel. :-( not satisfied at all Les mer
"Chinatown New York"
"New York experience"
We we're four young women travelling to New York for the first time. The hotel room was big enough and comfortable enough for the four of us. The location was nearby a subway, but ate night it didn't feel so safe, because the streets were almost empty. The hotel staff was nice, helpful and friendly. But the cleaning wasn't the best. moving some lamps, […] you could see that the cleaning was kept to a minimum. however the price made up for it, and we would diffently recommend this hotel.

"Good value"
Nice rooms for the price. Found some long hair behind the bathroom door, but otherwise clean. Had window towards the railroad bridge, but there were double windows so all we heard of it was a very dimmed train sound. No problem sleeping, except loud neigbours. Not very thick walls between the rooms, unfortunately. We had a good stay. Friendly and helpful […] staff. Les mer
"Helt greit hotell:-)"
"Hotel 91 New York"
The hotel was nice enough, with nice beds and a widescreen TV in the room. The location was a bigger problem. Our room was right next to a bridge, so trains and cars were constantly passing, night and day. Another thing was the smell outside in the streets of Chinatown. If you have bad hearing and your nose doesn't work, it's a really nice place;-) […] But the service and everything inside the hotel was good.

Anbefales!

"Loved it & will go back"
Reading reviews about the train noise made me a bit iffy to book, but -surprise, surprise- we got the best sleep ever in NYC! Why? Since we didn't hear any emergency vehicles or loud drunk people. Rumbling thunder of trains worked as white noise while we slept, can't say the same about Chelsea or Theater District. Also, room was nice size for 4 people. […] Loved the proximity to Chinatown, Little Italy & East Village. Hint; since there is hot water for instant coffee, bring your own gourmet tea or hot chocolade. As dinner dessert, we bought goodies from Chinese bakery and made our own drinks. This took care of waiting for your turn to take a shower :). Staff was very nice. Les mer

"Excellent"
Very friendly and helpful staff. Lovely clean room, small but bed was really comfortable. Nice clean bathroom. Close to East Broadway subway station. Close to Manhattan bridge but never woke us up any night. Excellent value.
"Subway noise"
Beware of rooms facing the Manhatten Bridge. Noise from subway trains can be unbearable at times.
"Don't stay here if you want a good night's sleep.."
Oh my - this was the worst hotel experience we've had in many years....why didn't we realize that being close to the Manhattan bridge might mean that you would actually be NEXT to it, and could hear the traffic from the bridge? And why hasn't anyone else commented on how LOUD the trains are - no kidding it was like trying to sleep through a hurricane […] or under a jet plane engine. My husband started counting how often the trains would shake and BOOOOOOM by and he got to about 2 minutes of silence and then the next one would thunder by. To top it off the smoke detector started to beep loudly around 5 am and we had to get the desk person in to change the battery. After that 30 minute interlude we realized that the trains were stepping up their morning schedule and it was a constant vibration and noise. Not sure how much I slept, but the only upside was that we were only 10 minutes from where the symposium was that I was attending. Unfortunately I wanted a nap at around 10 am and again at 3 pm - yes, maybe the WORST nights sleep since my son was a baby 21 years ago....or since I had major surgery - at least there were good drugs to sedate me after surgery. And - the room was small and the walls are badly in need of new paint. The bathroom was new and clean, but that is hardly worth mentioning and should no way be taken as any kind of recommendation for staying here. The staff wasn't willing to compensate us in any way, as we had already paid through an online booking site. I can't figure who would give this hotel a positive rating - who are you who gives it 3 stars??? Honestly, don't stay here if you would like to sleep at all. Les mer
"Hotel 91 in Chinatown, NY"
The hotel itself was nice, location great but I felt like I was sleeping on the train tracks.
"I like this hotel!"
This was my second time staying at Hotel 91 and I have been satisfied both times. It's only a 3 star hotel, so there's nothing fancy to be expected. The rooms are clean, the beds are comfortable. The rates were very reasonable for the size of the rooms and location. It's in China Town, which I love. It's not a part of Manhattan that is too busy. It's […] a short walk to the 6 and F trains, so it's a quick ride to Brooklyn and upper Manhattan. There is also an amazing vegetarian dim sum place close-by that was a godsend to my vegan buddy who was rooming with me. Both times I have stayed at Hotel 91 I have had my windows facing the Manhattan Bridge, and I never found the noise from the train problematic. It sounds sort of like low, quiet thunder and the trains don't run very often at night. The staff was welcoming and helpful. The only problem is that there is no coffee in the hotel. There is hot water and instant coffee near the lobby, but no real coffee and no coffee makers in the room. I have become a tea-drinker, so it's no problem for me, but it would have been an issue if I were at the hotel in my coffee-drinking days. Les mer
"Hotel is under a subway bridge, very noisy"
The location is great for the NYC 1/2 Marathon (near Seaport) and great for Asian food lovers (at the heart of Chinatown). But we did not realize how close it is to a subway bridge. A train roars through every 7 minutes even in midnight. The hotel room is relatively new and spacious by NYC standard. We got a room with 2 queen beds. However, the floor […] was not thoroughly vaccumed. I found food residuals around and one half-empty water bottle when I first checked in. I don't think that I will come back again. Les mer
"Hotel 91 - really convenient location"
The Hotel 91 was really great. It was really close to the subway, and was a really great middle point for Manhattan and Brooklyn - which were my 2 main places on interest. Staff was really nice and helpful, I would totally go back. The only real draw back was not having a coffee maker in the room, but the many pro's of Hotel 91 very much outweighed […] this tiny detail. Les mer
"Save your money dont go"
Don't go here for sleep the bridge is at your window so cars trucks and the loud train is annoying plus it's no smoking in your own room when I asked for smoking rooms and the fine is $250 if they feel you smoked plus the "wifi" didn't work tv had two channels plus someone knocked on my door and told me to turn my tv off. I couldn't wait to check out. […] This hotel ticked me off not to mention I never got my deposits for the three room I rented!!! Les mer
"A terrible stay at the Hotel 91"
One of the worst hotel experiences I've ever had. When I arrived at 8:30pm I walked through the abandoned corridor that leads to the hotel. The reception is on the 2nd floor, and when I went to the front desk, there was nobody there. So I waited and waited and waited. I then called the hotel's number on my reservation slip and the phone rang and rang […] and rang. Finally 20 mins later (I was keeping track of the time) a guy shows up at the front desk. No apology no explanation. When I told him, I had had been waiting for 20 mins to check in, he gave me a nasty look, then refused to make eye contact with me as he rattled of the perfunctory info about the hotel. My actual room was quite small and had a musty smell. The bathroom floor was spotted with grime and the TV didn't receive several basic channels. The room faced the subway tracks and the noise from the passing trains was quite audible but I'm a heavy sleeper so it didn't really keep me awake. I will never stay at this hotel and I feel I must warn others of this terribly run establishment Les mer
"Good For the Lower East Side"
Good place to stay if you're doing things on the Lower East Side. Not too far from the Subway, walkable to a good amount of places. Clean, standard sized room for NYC. One issue: There's no secure entry to the hotel. Anyone can just walk in and hop on the elevator. I didn't ever feel unsafe, but something to consider.
"Price-Quality unmatched"
- suited my solo travelling experience - convenient location with a subway station within couple of streets - subway station is within a few stops from some of the key subway line transfers (broadway-lafayette, Jay St, W 4th, 14th st) - clean room, amenities replenished daily - minimal intrusion, able to go straight to room level by escalator from 1st […] floor (lobby at 2nd floor) - responsive, friendly, helpful staff - coffee, wifi in the lobby - convenience stores all around the hotel Les mer

resembles the local neighborhood pay by the hour hotel/motel. no lobby. heater malfunction with outside weather 25 degrees or lower.
"Kind of depressing"
Really felt stupid Booking this hotel tried to make the best out of it, but would never stay there again for the money there are much much better choices Should be cheaper for what it is....
"Not what I expected"
I feel that the photos dont really reflect the hotel well. It is in the middle of Chinatown, not exactly close to the subway, and the rooms are sparse. I actually enjoyed the sound of the train outside my window, but I don't think others would.
"Hotel 91 in New York is in a great location"
Close to all the subway stations..
"Hotel 91 New York"
to me, the only missing facility in this hotel was an electric bottle, which i need to boil hot water to my 3 yrs old kids to prepare her milk.
"Hotel 91-- Chinatown"
This was a very decent hotel, although very dark and narrow.... sits next to the elevated train and is quite noisy all through the night. You can request one of their more quiet rooms without a window on the 7th floor which worked well, although pretty dark. Very clean and service was wonderful!
"Hotel 91- We made a good choice"
This is a hidden treasure in the middle of Chinatown. The room was spotless, all finishes brand new. Granite and tile in bathroom. Large, comfortable Queen size bed with white duvet. TV, Built in hairdryer. Minimalist style decorating. Poor reading light, bring your booklight. Lobby amenities such as drinks were OK. They have a Zorojishi hot water vessel […] for drinks but terrible instant coffee. We found a bakery in the next block with pretty good coffee. Under the Manhattan Bridge, with the train going over head, not everyone might love it like we did: White noise! Les mer

"Very Noisy Location"
It's under a Bridge, and as a result is very noisy (the trains run all night). If you're a heavy sleepr, this may not be a problem, however I do not consider myself a light sleeper, and was consistently woken up at 4 am by the trains.
"The Hotel 91"
Situated in Chinatown, while close to where we needed to be, it wasn't a pleasant stay. The rubbish left out all around the streets at night left a horrible smell
"Cheap but nice place!"
Pros: Near subway station, we walked everywhere in NY, so it was a convenient way to travel. Ethernet cable provided in the hotel room. Clean!! Cons: The TV in the room was fuzzy on most channels, but we didn't come to visit NY to watch TV in the hotel room so it was okay. There was only one elevator for 7 floors of guests and the location was right […] next to restaurants and food markets --> streets filled with food... Les mer

The staff were very helpful; with recommendations, directions and maps to some wonderful Chinese and Vietnamese restaurants that we would have never know […] about otherwise. and it was only three blocks from Little Italy and two blocks from a convenient subway station....The hotel was affordable, very clean and with the double windows, it was totally quiet...We will definitely stay there again.
