Vi reiste en familie på tre og fikk en ok liten leilighet, to soverom, stue med kjøkkenkrok, bad og gang. Frokosten "next door" var kontinental, - uten varm mat, men det som var der var godt, og betjeningen rask til å holde fatene oppfylt. Hotellet ligger midt i handlegaten, men der var likevel stille og trivelig på kveldstid.

Flott beliggenhet, litt for enkel frokost, noen rom er skikkelig støyutsatt. Hvis du får et rom mot den rolige bakgården er dette et bra sted.

Frokosten var utrolig enkel, dessverre. Egg, bacon eller skinke kunne vi se langt etter. Oppskjært tomat og agurk var det mest "eksklusive" de kunne stille opp med.

Resepsjonen var behjelpelige med all booking av aktiviteter med eksterne arrangører. Alle disse aktivitetene fikk vi samlet på sluttregningen. De islandske resepsjonistene er imponerende språkkyndige og ikke minst voksne. Et mer sentralt beliggnede hotell finner man heller ikke.

This is a good hotel if you should visit Iceland. The rooms are renovated and fresh! The people are nice but the breakfast is very bad!!! This is a 3 star hotel and all you get is cheep youghurt, a toast and coffe/juice. Nothing else!

The hotel is located in the center of town and close to the harbor so there is a lot to see within walking distance. Our room had a fridge, kitchen sink, and two burner stove There is a food store a few blocks down the street so we were able to save on meals plus a continental breakfast is included in the morning. good location - good value

We broke our trip from Seattle to Paris with a one-day stay in Iceland. We arrived at the hotel around 9:15am and left at 4:35am the next morning, but the hotel was ready for this. Our room was clean, attractively furnished, and had kitchen facilities, which we did not use. The hotel was centrally located and within walking distance of the new concert […] house and several interesting restaurants. Two minor problems: (1) the toilet seat in our bathroom was flimsy and not well-attached to the toilet base. Sitting on the toilet seat was rather uncomfortable, but not dangerous or anything. (2) The bedsheets had either been washed with a detergent with added fragrance or more likely, a fabric softener with a pronounced fragrance had been used when the sheets were dried. I am not allergic to these fragrances, but some people are, and I find them unpleasant. I doubt that it is really necessary to use fabric softener. Because we left so early in the morning, I did not discuss this with the management. Coffee, tea, and orange juice were provided for those who had to leave so early; a nice touch. Les mer

Over the weekend there was extremely loud music from a neighbouring night club that started playing very loud at around 10pm. Other than this everything was fine, you get what you pay for minus the loud drums.

We had twin beds, but dealt with that OK. The only inconvenience I could say was that breakfast was served in the restaurant next door, so you had to go outside. Room very clean. The sulfur in the water made my silver jewelry tarnish, bu that's not the hotel's fault.

I had a short stay at hotel Fron and the staff was extremely helpfull and informative. Placed in central Reykjavik it's easy to get the most Out of your time. The local restaurant serves delicious mexican food. The bus shuttle to the airport went without any delays. I Will use this hotel next time, for my short trips through Island.

Great position well looked after by the man at reception was a bit slow to warm to but ended up really helpful. I will recommend all my friends to stay here.

I stayed at the Hotel Fron for 4 nights. I had requested a room at the back prior to arrival as I had read in previous reviews that the noise from the street could be heard. The hotel was accommodating and I highly recommend doing this. The clerk at the front desk was not very friendly when we arrived. We had asked her to book a bus tour for the next […] day and asked her opinion. She was non committal, but did book a tour for us and yet when we went the next day to take the tour, the tour bus did not have our reservation, let alone know anything about us; this was very unfortunate. Despite this mishap, the room was very clean, large by European standards and had a fridge and stove - this was nice. The one thing that could have helped - the bed was very very soft (a change is in order!). The breakfast staff were very friendly as well as the restaurant and bar staff. They knew our names by the end of our stay and were extremely pleasant. The great thing about the Fron - the location. It is at the heart of the tourist area; within walking distance to everything and on the main street. Cafes, restaurants, bars, shops, galleries - all surround the Fron. All in all, a good value for the dollar. You may not get luxury, but you do get location. If you are looking for something modern however, this would not be the hotel for you. Les mer

Walking distance to all the town has to offer. Although, if you're coming to Reykjavik, your plan should be out of town exploring everything Iceland has to offer, because there really isn't that much in Reykjavik. Room was very small for the twin bed. Bathroom door was a little hard to navigate due to size as well. The hotel can be described as cozy, with free wifi and friendly staff. The single room was pretty small, although well equipped. Breakfast is complementary, although it is quite simple (bread, ham, cheese, cereal, etc.). Location is excellent, right at the heart of Reykjavik, with easy access to nearby cafes, shops, and clubs. I was looking for a cheap place near the center of city. Hotel Fron was perfect for me. It was not expensive but provided decent service, clean room and a good location.

I chose this hotel primarily for it's location (secondarily for its price) and was not disappointed. It's in a perfect spot, right on the main street. I also requested a room in the back (per another reviewer's suggestion) prior to arriving and was happy to see that this was accommodated. As for the hotel room itself, it was very clean, the beds were […] comfortable, the bathroom was fine, but if you're looking for luxury and a great ambiance, I don't think you'll find it here. Overall, it's extremely basic and not very big. We had two twin beds on either wall, and a bedside dresser between them, and there was a small kitchen table with two chairs. It was very similar to college dorm room. There was also a small stovetop, some dishes and few pots and pans. Front desk staff wasn't overly helpful or friendly, but we found that this was true throughout the city (yes, this is a generalization) But we found the same to be true for waiters/waitresses, shop clerks and even the tourist info station. Excellent hotel. Great staff. Prefect location!

Room was great. Alot of street noise.

The hotel did not live up to my expectations for the cost. I had a street view room which was very noisy the next morning and had very old blinds that did not block out any light! Breakfast was substandard compared to the many other equivalent hotels I have stayed at around the world. The staff was helpful and friendly enough.

Hotellet och rummen som sådana var helt klart godkända. Städat och fräscht. Personalens ointresse av oss som gäster drar dock ner betyget. Önskade vi svar på någon fråga, vägbeksrivning eller tips på sevärdheter/restauranger möttes vi i det närmaste alltid av ljudlösa suckar och (allvarligt menade) kommentarer i stil med att "båtarna naturligtvis avgår […] från hamnen, och att hamnen ligger där hamnar brukar ligga - vid vattnet...". Inte sällan gränsade det totala ointresset till ett i det närmsta föraktfullt beteende. Undviker man personalen är det dock frågan om ett helt ok hotell i bra läge. Les mer

場所ですが、街の中心部の中にあります。近くにスーパーあり、薬局あり、レストランも多数ありです。 空港からの行き方は、空港内にあるフライバスかアイスランドエクスカーションズの窓口でホテル名を言えばホテルまで送迎してくれます。 朝食は含まれていましたが、ハム、チーズ、パンなどのコールドビュッフェで温かいものはありませんでした。 ツアーはレイキャビクエクスカーションズなど多数扱っており、前日予約も可能。 私が利用したツアー会社は上記の会社とアイスランドエクスカーションズ。ホテルまでツアーバスが迎えに来てくれるため、面倒な移動は一切なし。帰りも同様。 ただ、気を付けたいのはツアーの内容をフロントで確認してください。ゴールデンサークルとスノーモービルの二つのツアーに参加しましたが、観光地がダブっていて […] 、同じ場所を二度観光するハメになってしまいました。パンフレットに詳しい行き先が記載されていない場合があるので、一度観光したところが含まれていないか、そこはフロントにて要確認です。 また、ツアーを予約するとフロントから必ず予約シートみたいなものを渡され、それをツアーに参加する前に運転手に渡すのですが、フロントの人から一度それをもらわなかった日があり、次の日の朝、ツアーに参加する前にもらっていないことを別のフロントの女性に伝えると、その女性は「あなたたちが失くした。こちらは渡している。」何回説明してもその一点張り。挙句の果てには「料金をもう一度支払いたいの？」とのこと。あれには立腹しました。 その女性は滞在中終始そういった態度でした。 他の人の対応は良かったです。 また、部屋のシャワーは温泉水なのかきつい硫黄が含まれており、部屋の中に入るなやいなや、硫黄の臭いがお鼻を襲撃します。 この臭いが苦手な人はお勧めできません。 シャワーを浴びる際ネックレスは外してください。 硫黄成分により、私がつけていたネックレスはたちまちさび付いてしまいました。 Les mer

Hotellin sijainti hyvä, kaikki lähellä. Hotellin ainoa huono puoli oli että pesutiloissa hajuhaitta. Ilmoitimme siitä ja se luvattiin korjata. Muuten kiva ja ystävällinen hotelli. Matkat sai suoraan tilattua hotellista, kavimme Blue Lagoonilla!

Hotel Fron is very convenient located at the central shopping-, pubbing-, and clubbing street Laugavegur. The hotel, with its three star rating, may be a little over rated - it is basic, the breakfast is basic, the service is basic, but the location is very central in Reykjavik close to all the down town attractions, restaurants, eateries, bars, clubs […] a.s.o. The rooms facing the main street Laugavegur can be a little on the noisy side friday and saturday nights when down town Reykjavik turns from a quiet provincial like town - to a partying city like town, when people in all ages turn up down town to dine, drink and dance. Still the location alone makes this hotel a recomendable choice for travellers preferring location to hotel service and standard. If you travel with car check in early to have one the hotels parking lots in the yard, otherwise you have to park your car at the parking meters at one of the nearby streets. Les mer

Für einen längeren Aufenthalt ist das Hotel nicht zu empfehlen.Obwohl in der Fußgängerzone gelegen, ist die Lärmbelästigung u.a. durch einen nahen Technoclub bis morgens um 05.00 Uhr teilweise unerträglich. Das Frühstücksbuffett hat Jugenherbergscharakter und entspricht nicht der gebuchten Preiskategorie. Positiv ist die Ausstattung und Sauberkeit der […] Zimmer zu vermerken. Les mer

Toisessa kerroksessa sijainneen huoneen seinillä oleet taulut tärisivät alakerran Barbara -baarin bassojen tasosta. Respasta löytyi korvatulpat ensimmäiseksi keskiviikon ja torstain väliseksi yöksi ja lisää sai aamulla, onneksi, sillä bileet jatkuivat baarissa jälleen perjantai- ja lauantai-iltoina. Kolmesta seurueemme käytössä olleista huoneesta ainoastaan […] tässä yhdessä oli tämä meluhaitta, huoneen ikkunat antoivat sivukujalle, Barbara -baarin sisäänkäyntiin. Laugavegurin puolella olleessa huoneessa oli jonkintasoista melua kuultu ainoastaan lauantai-iltana, samoin sisäpihan erillisrakennuksen huoneessa. Les mer

Hotel Fron and Iceland were both amazing experience I wont ever forget. Fantastic place, staff was great and helpful. Everything we asked got arranged somehow. Such a great place!

Five stars all over, except for breakfast - because I was out dancing all night I overslept all breakfasts and started the next day with lunch in the afternoon. Know nothing about breakfast, thus. Comfy bed, quiet day and night in spite of the very central location, excellent internet access - couldn´t be much better for a weekend in Reykjavik, especially […] not when considering low January prices. Jag ger detta hotell mycket bra betyg. Framför allt för att de i receptionen var så hjälpsamma. Vi åkte på flera dagsturer under vår resa och det var enormt smidigt att det gick att boka & betala i receptionen. Men också för att rummet var över förväntan - snyggt och rent. Go´a sängar! Utanför dörren fanns Reykjaviks populäraste shoppinggata. Det […] enda minustecknet var frukosten. Det fanns flingor & yoghurt & rostade bröd med marmelad, skinka & ost. Man kunde få kaffe och juice också om man ville. För mig var det ok, men pappa tyckte att det var fattigt. Les mer

hotel situated at the best location of R. In the middle of the shopping street, nearby tourist information (excursion booking), near the nightlife but not next door! Very good hotel for its price - breakfast was the only thing we were not satisfied with.
