This charming hotel is very centrally located in Zocalo. The breakfasts were typical of an American hotel. Filling, but not fantastic. I would have preferred to have had 'WIRELESS' Internet in the room. The WI-FI in the lobby was a nice gesture, but expand it to the rooms! Overall, really very good.

The hotel was beautifully located and in a lovely old building with stained-glass ceiling over the central atrium. We walked everywhere in the Centro Historico day and night, and felt completely safe. The room itself was very clean, with a modern large bathroom and all amenities. The room had wired internet, the lobby had wireless. Only complaints were: […] there was only 1 chair (secretarial at that), sono place for 2 to sit in the room; insufficient and inconvenient towel racks in bathroom. Close to city center and 10 minutes walk to Zocalo metro station. Standard room has no outside window. Room clean and comfortable. Included breakfast a plus.

The staff were very helpful - getting transportation, resturant reservation, and setting us in the right direction for walking. The location of the hotel is blocks from the Zocolo and some historic buildings, but found a taxi or metro necessary to see the areas we wished. Mexico City is amazingly spread out and public transporation is easy, but would […] rather be located more centrally next time. Nice hotel near two Metro stops. GREAT breakfast.

Just a few blocks from a souvenir market. A couple blocks from the main historic square. English speaking staff and very courteous and helpful. Electricity (except for some lighting in hallways) went out in the morning, but it was apparently the whole region and came back on by 7am or so. Everything was excellent. Great location right in the historical center, clean rooms, and the service is very good. I definitely recommend this hotel.

This place is a great stay....after finding we had no hot water for showering on two separate occasions it was remedied by us moving into a different room. Problem solved and upgraded as well. Would definetly recommend. Great hot breakfast buffet as well!!!

We recommend those wishing to travel to mexico city to stay in it, it 20 minutes away from the aiport and in the center. Staff were very helpful and it was very clean. The breakfast was also good. Christine

At fist they were going to give me a really bad view. I had paid for a better one, long story short spoke to the manager and they kind of fixed it!. But the bed and the pillows were just like the states !! So u want a nice vista?? Ya not for you ! You want a cumfy stay! A++. And hotel.com being a younger site has come through!emails and confirmations […] ,follow ups and revenues 10 out of 10. I have a couple more nights ! In diffent hotles Read my other stuff! Great place in the heart of the city, nice, neat and very clean. The duty manager was helpful at times but not always. Seemed to fuss about minor things. For example, we asked for a cab for 4 passegers and he said need to book it at least a day before, but the bell boy organise it within 10 minutes!!! The rest of the staff were EXCELLENT!!!

The hotel is very nice, it's the 2nd time I've stayed there for one night, and the only complaint is that this time the room was too small. This time I had the breakfast buffet, which was very nice.

Loved our stay. The staff was very gracious and helpful. We are English speakers, and they were able to direct us easily to where we wanted to go, including a lovely candy shop and an nice but inexpensive restaurant with both typical Mexican dishes. Having coffee and tea available at any time in the lobby was very nice. The lobby had plenty of seating. There […] is a terrace on the 5th floor seating and nice view of the city. We took our coffee up there to start/end our day. The hotel is within walking distance of many of the sites we were interested in, including the Templo Mayor. We used the metro to go to Chapultepec and the National Anthropolgy museum. We absolutely would stay here again! Les mer

Good hotel for the cost. Just stayed overnight and left early. Breakfast was good and plentiful and the cafe near the entrance is open till 10 at night.

Beautiful old Spanish architecture contains this nicely remodeled American chain. The staff is friendly and attentive (more than I expected in a three star hotel) and even the maintenance guy was wearing a sport coat when he came to adjust the shower handle in my room..., the rooms are small (typical for this area) but well appointed and comfortable, […] and the breakfast is big and bountiful (and included on some packages). The hotel was just remodeled apparently, according to my coworker who lives downtown in Mexico City. It's just a couple blocks from the Zocalo (BIG square with the old cathedral and government buildings surrounding) and minutes from the airport. The only drawback I noticed is that the rooms are not as quiet as more expensive places - I could hear my neighbors talking, and their doors shutting made mine rattle. I will stay here again if the prices are as competitive as they were this time... Les mer

Excellent hotel in a very convenient location close to the Zocalo. I would definately recommend this hotel and would have no reservations in staying here again if I was to return to Mexico City.

One of the best hotels we have stayed in our 3 weeks in Mexico. Every comfort from multiple pillows, clean, comfortable bed, wi fi, washing/dryer machines. A beautiful old building, renovated only several years ago, it has retained its art deco features (blue and white tiles in the walls,beautiful lead light roof etc) but the rooms are extremely modern […] and sparkling clean with all the mod cons. As well as the most comfortable and luxurious hotel, it was one of the most reasonably priced hotel we stayed in. The staff were friendly and helpful. I would certainly recommend this hotel if staying in Mexico City. Les mer

Hampton Inn & Suites was an excellent, centrally located hotel within walking distance of many of Mexico city´s main attractions. It was near the Zocalo, the Palacio de Bellas Artes, among the many places to visit. It was also near the subway station. The hotel itself had a wonderful buffet breakfast with the day´s newspaper available for guests and […] a coffee-tea bar open 24 hours a day. It was well maintained and clean. TheHotel is an American Chain, so it has all the comfortsm that one would expect in the U.S. We were upgraded to asuite when I explained we had an extra person, and they don't have roll away beds. The extra cost was minimal. Very nice hotel in a historic setting if you want to be near the Zocalo.

We found this hotel to perfectly suit our needs. It is clean, comfortable and the service is excellent. The locatiion is very convenient.

Loved the stay in Hampton Inn & Suites! They do care about guests... and offer a great service, free internet, complimentary breakfast, clean rooms, nice roof terrace and even ice (from an ice machine on each floor) as well as spare toothpaste etc if you forgot one... The Hampton Inn Centro Historico is 2 short blocks from the Plaza de la Constitucion (Zocalo), the very center of the historic zone and the heart of the entire country. Within short walking distance of the Aztec Templo Mayor, National Palace, Cathedral, and hundreds of historic buildings, as well as the Metro (subway/underground), on which you can go […] almost anywhere in the City at high speed for about U.S. $0.25. The hotel is spotless, comfortable, and includes a very substantial full breakfast every morning along with 24-hour coffee, fast in-room cable internet access, extensive cable TV offerings for the kids, and a small gym and business center. Service was friendly and efficient. We were easily able to accomplish extensive sight-seeing, shopping, and people-watching with very little real effort due to the combination of comfort and superb location. A 5 minute walk to the Zucalo (main square), which has a subway stop - an important requirement in Mexico city (MEX). It is clean, newly refurbished, and 24 hr coffee and sitting area. Not all staff speak English, but there always seemed to be one staff member on duty who does. They were all very courteous. I stayed 4 nights and went everywhere in […] MEX and always felt safe, including the hotel area. I would note that the hotel has showers only, no bathtubs, but this is common in MEX. The buffet breakfast is not elaborate, but lots of the basics...scrambled eggs, ham, wafles, fruit, and some mexican dishes. A lot of fellow airline employees have used this hotel and also recommend it. There are many less expensive, and some more elaborate. But the hotel is the best of both, and the beds are all new. The rooms are quiet enough, you can hear the muffled horns during the day, but night they is quite quiet. Les mer

Had a great stay at this hotel. Definitely one of the better that I stayed in during my month in Mexico. Would highly recommend it! Staff were particularly helpful in assisting us to liaise with our airline regarding our lost baggage.

Great Hotel and the renewed changes in "el zocalo" are worth the stay. For those not familiar with Mexico City and looking for a downtown atmosphere this hotel is a good place to experience Mexico's downtown.

We did not expect the hotel is so great with unique location close to everything. At first, we thought we were paying extra for the location but it was great. The front desk personnel is really helpful with advices. The room is spacious and clean for 5 of us - 2 adults and 3 kids. The complimentary breakfast was typical continental - nothing you can […] say more or less... The only small thing that was unpleasant - the 2 dryers could not run at the same time otherwise, it'll pop the breaker. I had to wait the whole drying hour to stop another hotel guest from using the other dryer. That's after finding out my whole load was still wet after 2 hours. My take is, the hotel maintenance could be smart enough to just disable one of the dryers. Les mer

right in the middle of the historic center, the rooms excided our expections (comfy bed, modern farniture), they helped us get a guide for the tour we wanted to have and booked transportaion in and outside the city as well. the breakfast and near by cafe are good too.

The hotel was very nice and just a couple of blocks from the National Cathedral of Mexico located in the main square. Close to the subway. (subway is very clean in Mexico City) The rooms were quiet and off the street. VERY CLEAN. Staff is courteous and helpful in schedule taxis. Hampton Inn at the Centro Historico is an excellent (200 year olf) hotel within walking distance of great restaurants, metro, history, and shopping. The hotel staff are so attentive and really want people to feel cared for. They order safe taxis, give advice on where to go, and always smile and say hello. I practiced my Spanish, and they practiced their […] very good English. Regular rooms are a bit small, but very clean and in great shape. We did move to a bigger room, which I loved, and want to stay in again. The only small complaint I had was the breakfast, but it was satisfactory and always had fresh fruit and yogurt, hot waffles, toast, and cereal, so if I didn't like the eggs, I still had options. The two restaurants attached to the hotel are also excellent. I had the best fish taco ever at Fisher's, and Garabatas had consistently good food, adapted for Gringos. Overall, this was a wonderful stay and I can't wait to get back. Les mer

Everyone was so helpful and the hotel couldnt have been in a better location. The rooms were small but clean and very modern. Plus had a very nice feel to them. This hotel is recommended for the price, the friendliness of the hotel staff and the neighborhood.
