"Good but some issues"
Overall seemed clean but walked into the hotel lobby in the morning, just about 20 feet from our room , and there was a very large roach at the threshold of the hotel store where all of the food was. I was told we had a king size bed and it was clearly a queen.

"Gradiatioon"
I was in town for Wesleyan's December Graduation. I reservedtwo rooms for myself and other family members. We were all very pleased with our stay. If I need to visit Rocky Mount NC again I would not hesitate to stay atCandlewood suites.

This was my first time staying in this hotel the room was very clean. The lady working the front desk was Moana she was very nice and helpful. I will there again the next I visit Rocky Mount, NC.

"My goto when staying in the area"
Over all this is a great place to stay. We've stayed in a few place around town and for your money It's the best. I will only stay in the bottom floor because of the smoke smell (yuck) in the upper two but I like the convenience of the 1st anyways. These are suites and not just hotel rooms so you have a full fridge, stove top, etc. We bring food and […] save a lot on not eating out. Staff has been very friendly and accommodating anytime we have spoken to them or needed something. I will not stay anywhere else unless I'm forced to. Les mer

Had a great 3 night stay. would book again when I come back to Rocky Mount. Friendly Staff. A/C unit was a little noisy but was able to sleep thru it. Other than that room was clean and Hotel was very quite in the evenings at the time of my stay in August 2011. "Way to Myrtle beach"
Great hotel; it was clean and didn't smell... Newer than I had expected, and very nice inside and out! Great room for disabled person with roll in shower that didn't leave the floor saturated like other hotels... Def would stay here again!!

This is the first time we have stayed at this hotel. The room was very clean and tidy. There are no ice machines should you need ice immediately when you arrive. The refrigerator has an ice maker but takes awhile to make ice. There is a small store in the lobby that sells drinks and food items. "Not what I expected with the other reviews"
When my husband and I arrived, the outside looked nice. However, the room was not. I'm a "Marriott" queen, and unfortunately that weekend my Marriott was booked, so I knew this hotel was close by. My husband saw a roach the first night in the bathroom, and the next morning I saw one in the tub. When I informed the attendant about it, she didn't seem […] surprised. She wanted to know if it was a roach or a bug, since the hotel sits so close to the woods. Then she even had the nerve to tell me they have "bug" problems on the 3rd floor--I wouldn't tell a guest something like that. There were dead bugs in the light fixtures also. There were some good qualities though. The towels were beige, instead of the usual white, and were very absorbent. And the location was great, near two sit-down restaurants,a Bojangle's, and gas station. However, if you want an extended stay hotel, go one block down to the Country Inn & Suites. We definitely won't be back to this Candlewood. Les mer

It was a wouderful experience. I would have never thought that a hotel this nice would be in lil old rocky mount. This was an upgrade in Rocky Mount. Wonderful stay, even more wonderful price from hotels.com.

This is the second time I've stayed at the Candlewood Suites and I've been impressed both times. Each time we spent one night for baseball tournaments. The rooms are very large with a kitchen with a full size refrigerator. The beds are incredibly comfortable with soft linen. The price can't be beat. The front staff is very helpful and courteous. Second stay here, while visiting daughter in college and again the stay was perfect. Joyce at the front desk was so accomodating and friendly, and went out of her way to help in every way possible. Used the free washers/dryers this time - very convenient. Everything about this hotel was great except the noise I heard loud and clear from the room above mine - at 2-2:30am. This noise wasn't out of the ordinary; people talking, walking around, putting their belongings away, it wasn't party time. Very clean, spacious room. Largest bathroom I have seen in a hotel of this price. High tech A/C-heat system, so allow for time to 'kick-in'...a cool room and a warm bed, a nice night's sleep! Definitely ask for extra pillows. The diner next door is well worth the the short walk to it, the wait in line, and the weather (it was pouring rain that day). Going to or from the south from NJ this is a great place to stop. Small pool with grill area perfect for end of the day. Kitchen for breakfast. Video loaners. A few good restaurants within 5 minutes.

We found the room to be clean and comfortable . The room had a mini kitchen with a built in stove top burner, microwave and a full size refrigerator and ice maker.All the the utensils that you would need to prepare a meal. One of the best things that we benefitted from was the free laundry service. There is a diner within walking distance. They had a great menu and good diner food.Check-in was fast and courteous.
