Staff is great, a little presure when you first check in trying to get you to buy time share, but other then that excellent, quiet get away for the price.

I had a great time here! The staff was great and very friendly! Whenever I needed something, they were there for me. I had a king-size room, on the top floor overlooking the bay, which was nice. They could upgrade some parts of the hotel as some rooms were not as nice as mine, but overall, worth the price. Everything is conveniently located. We really enjoyed our stay the staff was very helpful and friendly, from the front desk clerk to the housekeeping staff, and the gift shop staff. Our room was cleaned daily and we had fresh towels daily, the hotel is an older hotel but newly painted and well kept. the king bed was very confortable. Taino by the sea had a wonderful breakfast buffett every morning overlooking the beach and wonderful food at night as well. The beach was beautiful with reclining chairs and tiki huts all along the beach. Also the bonfire at night was a great addition. The pool was wonderful with the slide and the cave swim up pool bar. You aren't going to find a true 5 star hotel anywhere on the island. This hotel offers the best bang for the buck. The staff is awesome, great amenities, quiet and secure. Loved it.

The room appeared quite clean but the bathroom had hairs scattered around the room from previous patron. Otherwise the room was satisfactory but a bit overpriced.

The concierge was very pleasant! The hotel is in good condition with a nice private feel. Overall it was a good experience staying here for one night considering the cost of living here. I enjoyed it and would recommend to those seeking a place to just spend the night and mostly busy during the day.

Under construction, some noise, pool not working yet, restaurant food ok. Short walk to 'fish fry' where u can buy local food average $12 plate. Older building but clean. Felt safe in hotel & area, but did not venturing out at night. Internet in lobby, weak signal in room at best. I would stay there again.

The Flamingo Bay Hotel & Marina at Taino Beach is a cut-rate hotel that is only worth the low rate advertised. The online website depicts a much more upscale hotel than it is. Although basically clean, the rooms are rather old and, in some cases, initially missing the basic necessities (i.e., lamps, phone, towels). In fact, after expressing my displeasure a few times, they went out of their way to move me across the street, to the Time Share facility owned by the same company. LOcation to the beach and resort facilities was great. However the business suite was only a business suite in name! lol two outdated shivering scared desktops limited to a 30 minute timed session but with limited broadband and real slow computers I pretty much did most of what i needs n my apple device. Quite dissappointing! changed rooms, but still not resolved! in the second room the mattress was softer also, so ended up having back pains all week for the remainder of my stay! pretty lame! Wifi is only present in the lobby! If you are lucky topick murmer which cobstantly cuts out. Apparently it was in the process of upgrading it! but I would call and ask as I need about 6 hours access a day and i was struggling to get a few hours alone! There is only one restaurant on site where the food quality left much to be desired but the prices were very comparable to central london well established venues where the quality is assured! I found the food menu woeful to say the least! being an island! the choice of seafood was scant! the quality od the meats was poor also. however the local Grouper fish is quite tasty. Les mer

Very relaxing, quiet location, great rooms with self-catering options backing on to a beautiful marina. Access to all resort facilities and walking distance to restaurants, fish fry and different beaches. Highly recommended. On site restaurant decent.

It was very nice to see everything they had to offer. We went there not knowing what we were in for and all of the offerings were way beyond a simple hotel room. Resturant, Bar, beach ferry to Lacaya and very friendly and helpful people. Dale

Very friendly and helpful staff, superb location, loved the resort pool and beach. Really enjoyed the hustle and bustle of the Marketplace in Port Lucaya. The water taxi to Port Lucaya is great. Our whole family of seasoned world travelers were quite impressed.

I found the people very comforting and helpful. They were more than willing to provide any information to all guests. The room was suited for two people with easy access to the beach. The resturant was also close by.

Other than the ability to access the beach, pool and restaurant belonging to the timeshare/rentals in the adjoining facilities, give this place a pass--no bedside lighting, no working TV, plumbing was decrepit, doors were warped, refrigerator did not have a freezer.

There were many nice things about this hotel including being very close to a beautiful beach and a lovely restaurant, but the room had some glaring issues including an old TV that did not work properly (also no remote), a shower that did not work at all (with not even a stopper so that one could at least bathe), a running, noisy toilet, and very noisy […] ventilation fans in the small bathroom and kitchenette. We were given no sanitized glasses or cups or liner for the ice bucket. Also the ice maker nearest the room did not work. Beds are clean and comforable, building is kind of old, but in fair conditions, internet services could be upgraded, there is wi-fi in lobby area only, is very convenient to be able to use the Taino Resort facilities, pool, restaurant, beach and bar are excellent. We had a great time here in Freeport. I arrived with my girlfriend and the airconditioner was weak. We said something to the folks at the front desk and went to hang out on the beach. When we got back to the room they had replaced the old airconditioner with a new one. The one they gave us worked great. Then we noticed that we were missing a phone and […] they put one in quickly. We booked a reef fishing trip but they were unable to comply because not enough people signed up. They refunded our money for the trip with no hastle. The ferry to port Lacaya leaves every hour on the hour until 11:00PM after which you can take a cab for around 10 bucks.The pool was big and had a water slide that was really fun. The swim up bar was cool. They had drink specials each night. The beaches were nice. The way I describe this place is to say this is basically Nassau without the hype. In Nassau food is twice as expensive. We had a great trip and did most of the activities except the bananna boat thing. There was a glass bottom boat, snorkeling, sea doo, and the normal activities. Missed a scheduled tour because there was no hot water the morning of. Missed a ferry because housekeeping neglected to leave bath towels. There were no beach towels available for 2 days. The restaurant at Taino beach was excellent. The condition of the beach area was excellent.

It scared me because this hotel was so cheap, but everything in hotels.com as far as description, price, amenities, etc., was correct. The rooms were clean and the staff was helpful. The ferry to the Marketplace was literally steps from the hotel. There was a time share salesperson, but all you have to do is say "no, thank you!" We were most pleased with our Flamingo Bay experience. First, the price was exceptional for what was offered. Location is decent...a five minute water taxi ride takes you to the Lucaya market and reasonably priced also. Desk staff were superb. The hotel is across the street from the beach but no matter. This is a resort and it includes all the amenities one might expect. Restaurant that offers a setting right on the beach..this was the up-side. Perhaps it's just us, but we were not super impressed favorably with any of the meals we had in Freeport anywhere. It was OK, the restaurant included...But it was made up for with other features. The resort was begun in the seventies and is well maintained. Sports facilities include ping pong, volley ball, shuffleboard, and an impressive array of other attractions. Glass bottomed boat, snorkeling boat, jet skis, para-sailing. One of the most singular features is the massive pool, largest on the island. Clever sunken bar, beautiful landscape...very nice. When we make it back to Freeport, we know where to stay. Les mer

You have access to a fabulous beach, restaurant, pool with swim up bar and an awesome slide, tennis court which they will supply you with raquets/balls, and a water taxis to the popular Port Lukaya Marketplace. Flamingo Bay is a great, value resort that is a 5 minute ferry ride from Port Lucaya (the central place with all the restaurants and things to do). I loved the Taino Beach more than other beaches since it was much less populated, cleaner, and more peaceful. The restaurant choices on the Taino Beach are to be desired, but they are reasonably priced. […] Whatever you do, DO NOT do the Sunday Beach Bonfire "Buffet" which is overpriced and not at all worth it. It was not a buffet, but merely "Eat until we run out." do not rent their bicycles either as they are old, running on flat tires, and just are not properly taken care of. Do not rent their scooters either. Rent them from the guy in the Port Lucaya parking lot (better price, faster, cooler looking). Overall, they kept the place very clean, I was satisfied with their housekeeping, and it was very easy to fall asleep. We paid less than $40 a night so there's no way we would pay 3x for something in Port Lucaya only to be annoyed by drunken high school kids. Les mer

The best part of the hotel was its location relative to the beach. It was virtually uninhabited by travelers with the most gorgeous ocean and beach. The location itself made the hotel worth it. Although it was across the water from the sights of Freeport the ferry was right outside the hotel and easily accessible. the hotel is very well located, very close to the beach, wonderful beach and landscape, swimming pool quite fabulous, at teh hotel, there is a marina where u can park you boat if u r luky enough to have one. hotel close to all attractions,few minutes from port lucaya, easy to get a cab around if needed. i had a great trip!

When I read some previous reviews I was a bit wary but since I've returned I must tell of my experience. ANYONE who has written with complaints were either before the current management upgrade or from people who have no idea what a great deal this hotel is. Yes, the Flamingo is an older place. And yes, if you are looking for 4 and 5 star luxury you […] will be disappointed here. But having spent 3 nights there I can say that I can't wait to find the time to return. My room was fine, 2 nice queen beds, great A/C, a little kitchenette, good TV and the bathroom and towels were fine. My one complaint was that the tiled floor tended to collect the beach sand that I tracked in but who's fault was that? Across the street is the fabulous Ritz, which IS 4 star, with a beautiful "stream" pool and grotto bar. The outstanding beach was steps away. The only restaurant was nice, if pretty generic in it's menu. The staff were friendly and helpful. When staying at the Flamingo you receive a wrist band that allows you full use of all the Ritz facilities and luxurities. THAT was sweet! Behind the Flamingo is the ferry stop that takes you to Port Lucaya Marketplace with all it's shops, restaurants, pubs, and the casino. Five bucks aound trip every hour until 11 pm is a great deal too. If you want to getaway and experience the sun, sand, and fun of the Bahamas, and you want to do it without breaking into your IRA, THIS is the right place to stay! Les mer

I really did not know what to expect when I reserved this low cost hotel. But it was clean neat. a bit dated. it shared amenities with the resort across the street which offered a hugh pool and beach . voerall , it was much better than I expected.
