Hvis man går gjennom Museum Gardens tar der drøye fem minutter å gå inn til sentrum av York.Goldsmith's ligger i et sjarmerende og stille nabolag og blir drevet av ekteparet Susan og John som gjør sitt ytterste for at deres gjester skal ha det fint. Anbefales på det aller varmeste.

Veldig bra opphold! Rommet jeg fikk var av god hotell standard. Nytt, rent og nødvendige funksjoner. Litt lite rom, dersom man ønsker å tilbringe mer enn natten der. Veldig hyggelig vertskap. Frokost var både typisk engelsk, men også kornblandinger mm, for oss som er glad i det. Anbefales på det varmeste!

Ankom york tidlig den dagen vi skulle sjekke inn, fikk rommet vårt fire timer før tiden, helt utrolig bra service! Nærme alt, bare fem minutter gange til sentrum :) bra standard på rommet, veldig fint. Var litt lytt, knirket litt i gulvet fra de over, men det var ikke noe man la merke til etter hvert :) frokosten var ikke helt på topp, men det lå en matbutikk rett ved og mange pubber og andre plasser de solgte god mat, så det var ikke noe problem!

"Farthings Guest House- hyggelig opphold"
Fint og intimt B&B i gåavstand fra Yorks sentrum. Vi var på langtur og hadde mye bagasje, slik at rommet vårt ble litt lite for 2 personer med store kofferter. Anbefales.

Vi følte oss voldsomt velkomne og ønska. Den beste hotellopplevinga nokonsinne. Om alle var som desse, hadde det vore ein draum å bu heimafrå. Aldeles fortreffeleg! Og York er også verd turen, sjølv når det regner er det fint der.

"A Place Not to be Missed!"
My husband and I spent our anniversary weekend at the Farthings, and we cannot stop talking about what a lovely time we had. The owner greeted us warmly as though we were long-awaited friends; she showed us to our room, and even made sure the radiator was at a good setting before leaving. The room itself was so comfortable and cosy, especially as it […] was quite chilly outside. The breakfast! I felt utterly spoiled with choice! Fruits, yogurts, croissants, cereals AND a cooked offering. The Farthings even makes a point of detailing exactly where their produce (eggs, jams, honey, meat) originate. "All we could wish for and more.."
As it was a very busy weekend in York we were unable to book our usual Premier Inn room. But after staying at the Farthings we wont bother to ever stay anyway else again. What fantastic hospitality. Nothing was too much trouble - from the temporary parking permit whilst our son dropped us off ,to looking after our bags and giving us a spare key for […] 7 hours after we had checked out. Room was comfy and clean - although more subtle lighting would have been appreciated. The breakfasts were amazing - the kippers just melted in your mouth. Already looking forward to our next visit! "Great Stay"
I enjoyed my stay. The owners were very welcoming. The breakfast was good quality and plenty of it. The rooms were very clean and of good standard. Very close to the city centre with good parking.

This is a convenient guest house, clean with a good feel upon entering house, however, room is cramped to say the least and bathroom is far too small. The size of a postage stamp, towels were excellent, white and quite thick. Could not recommend for mature people looking for comfort and a spacious place to bathe.

This guest house is one of the best I have ever stayed at lovely staff very friendly and the food is lovely very wide choice and beautifully cooked. The whole guest house is spotlessly clean throughout and the bed was so comfortable I slept really well. "The Farthings B&B"
We stayed at the B&B in your because it was my birthday weekend, and we went to your races (John Smiths Cup). The B&B was within walking distance of the race course, town centre and all the attractions in York. Too get a room in York for this weekend is normally booked months in advance but we decided at last minuet to go so were very lucky to get a […] room at all. The room was up in the attic (one of four rooms up there) The stairs are very steep!! and the room had no on-suite. With the room being in the attic the roof slopes so you have too be very careful were you stand. Overall the B&B was very clean, excellent welcome by both owners. Good choice of breccie, lots of fruit, cereals, ect. We are going too book again for next year but alot earlier this time and request a room with en suite. Les mer

The Farthings Guest House is a delightful B&B in York. t is a short taxi ride from the railroad station but an easy walk back once you know the way. It also is an easy walk to town center. The staff are friendly and helpful. Although there is not a lift, the staff cheerfully carry your luggage upstairs and would have carried mine down but I did manage […] to do it myself. "The Farthings Guest House York, a relaxing stay"
We stayed at the Farthings for 2 nights, which helped make our visit to York a lovely one. The Guest House is very well located, approx a 7-8 minute work into town (about 10-12 mins from Jorvik). It is located in a residential street, quiet, even on a Friday night, and parking directly outside was no problem thanks to visitor permits issued for guests. The […] bed was the softest and most comfortable we have encountered for a while, and fitted in with the relaxed and comfortable feel of the guest house, feeling like we had been there for a while and not just somewhere for a short stay. The selection for breakfast was very good and the kippers the best I have tasted for many a year, not too strong and very soft. If ever we return to York or stay over as a break on a longer UK Holiday (driving to Scoland etc) we will not hesitate in booking the Farthings. Les mer

This is an excellent Guest House, close to the centre of York. The staff were helpful and attentive. There was parking outside at no extra cost and Farthings is in a quiet location. The room was comfortable for one person. There was a washbasin in the room and the bathroom was across the hall. Everything was clean and tidy. Vi bodde två nätter på the Farthings Guest House i York under mellandagarna 2011 och detta B&B uppfyllde verkligen våra förväntningar. Ligger vid en lugn gata ca 10-15 minuter promenad från York innaför murarna. Mycket trevligt bemötande, ett väldigt engelskt rum med burspråk, möblerat med omtanke om alla detaljer. "Godt og varmt hotel i York"
Hotellet var overraskende godt. Huset selv var velholdt og familien som holdt stedet var utroligt hjælpsomme. Morgen maden var det bedste vi fik på vores tur i Nord england. Huset lå omkring 10 min gang fra centrum af york, ikke 20 min kørsel som var angivet på hjemmesiden.
