Areos Hotel - Aten

Very nice Hotel. Almost brand new. Everything functioned. Top quality. Very good value for money. Walking distance to Archeological Museum. The most amazing was the service oriented people working in the reception. Helped us with excellent resaurants every night. Standard and comfort of the rooms was very good.

This is a great little hotel with a lot of style, and the only (very slight) downside is its location. The lobby, restaurant and rooms have a very new, trendy feel. The check-in staff were excellent, willing to take time to go through a map of Athens, explain everything the city has to offer and suggest the best ways to fill our time. The room (including […] bathroom) was spacious and the bed very comfortable. Breakfast was amazing - a few great Greek dishes to go along with the standard European continental breakfast fare. As far as the location goes - the hotel is three metro stops away (or about a 45 minute walk) from major attractions, so it isn't too far away but not as central as some travellers might like. The nearest metro station is Victoria on Line 1. Some reviews suggest the hotel is located in a dangerous neighbourhood but honestly we didn't notice any problems - no questionable people around outside even after dark etc. Overall this hotel is highly recommended - I would definitely consider this hotel for any future trips to Athens! The hotel itself is beautiful, modern, nice furniture and design. I got a simple room which is two single beds next to each other (it can also be a double bed apparently), which makes it 1.90m large. The room was very large, like a 25m² studio but with hotel standing. The bathroom was great too: large, pressure in the shower and easy to control temperatures. […] The only downside is the surroundings of the hotel, like a few neighbourhoods in Athens now unfortunately, which are not very safe after sunset. Great product for the Euro. Not flashy, but nice. Exceptional staff. Very helpful. Alittle out of the way, but close to the Metro.

The staffs work for this hotel are very nice, helpful. I'll go back to this hotel in the future for sure and going to tell my friends about this hotel.

The hotel is located outside the usual tourist area and although very close to the Archeological Museum it has a very genuine feeling of a real Athenian neighborhood. There are good restaurants located on nearby Alexandra avenue and the Victoria metro station is just 5 minutes away (although we later learned it is a dangerous station after dark). The […] Hotel rooms are nicely decorated (we got lucky with one on the terrace) but fridges are too small in the summer to be of any (practical) use. Staff is extremely helpful and courteous. The only downside is the deceitful breakfast which could be easily corrected (better choice, of fresh items: better pastries, better cheese, more fruits). An overall good choice. Will recommend. What a great hotel! When we arrived, my ferry tickets had been kept safe for me, and the receptionist was very friendly and helpful. The staff at Areos were fantastic, always willing to call a taxi or recommend somewhere great to eat or see. Overall impressions were that the hotel staff are wonderfully efficient and friendly, and our room was more than […] adequate for our needs. Very clean and comfortable. The breakfast was lovely as well. The only thing we missed was a swimming pool to cool off in, since it was seriously hot, but that's not really a complaint, is it? Really recommended since everything was wonderful and the price was great too. Very near to the metro, so we had no problems getting around. I will definitely stay here again. Les mer

This is a very nice hotel with marvelous bathrooms and excellent breakfast. The only drawback is the location which is half an hour walk from Syntagma. However, don't miss out on the shopping on Patision that is less stressful than in the Ermou area.

This is a nice little hotel. The staff were great, the rooms were really nicely decorated, great colors, comfortable bed. if not a little small, but I didn't need tons of room. The breakfasts were a little skimpy, but not inedible. The only downside for me was the neighbourhood the hotel is in. It's a little dodgy and with the Greek economy in the shape […] it's in, a little scary for a woman traveling on her own. The nearest place to exchange money is Omonia, and it always proved to be a little dicey walking around with some money in your bag. I didn't frequent any restaurants in the area so can't comment. It's a walk and a subway ride away from the Acropolis.The staff were friendly, helpful and informative. It's a great place for budget travelers. Les mer

I stayed at Areos for four nights in early June. Check in was quick and the staff offered to help with any travel questions when I was ready. Which I did - they helped to book tours, provide transport advise and recommend areas to eat in. My room (single with double bed) was clean, comfortable and modern, a good size with enough storage and luggage […] stand, air con was great, the bed was comfortable with good pillows (I have a neck problem so that is important!). A small balcony also led to a city view. Breakfast was included in my rate and provided a good range of choices, the cafe/bar staff were also very helpful and friendly. Areos may not be as central as Acropolis hotels but I thoroughly enjoyed my stay there as the staff were so accommodating and the clean, cool hotel/room was an absolute respite from the heat with all the mod cons I needed. this is a fantastic place to stay. The staff is very helpful and friendly and the hotel is really nicely decorated. The surrounded streets is a little noisy but you would find that in most hotels in the city. a great value and near the bus stop that will take you most places. I would stay here again

We were there for 2 nights , before taking off to the Greek Islands. It's a good price and is everything we expected since we didn't plan to stay there very long. Very close to Plaka and Patheon. it's a long haul from the airport , it will cost you 40 Euros. Next time I would rent a car or take a train. The room is small but clean and modern. But if […] you want to stay in Athens for longer than a day or two. This might be too small for you. WiFi connection is not very reliable. Staffs are really friendly. Les mer

One night stay only on my way home. Would definately return for a longer stay and recommend to others. Clean, modern hotel with high quality furnishings and equipment all of which worked. Pleasant breakfasting area. Friendly staff throughout. Excellent value for money.

I travel all the time and even though I can't give a perfect 5 star rating because the neighborhood was a bit far from the sights I wanted to see, on every other count this was a fabulous hotel. Great room, very helpful staff, great breakfast, internet worked, lots of TV stations, even a bar downstairs for a nightcap. You can't go wrong with Areos.

After spending several days on the island, it was nice to stay in a hotel that had ample hot water and comfortable beds. The place doesn't appear to be very affluent at night, but during the day it's vibrant and close to most sights. It's a little walk (30 minutes) to the Acropolis, but there are metros and buses nearby to speed that up. The front desk […] is very helpful. It was a wonderful stay. Les mer

The good: It is in very good condition, the room is new and the bathroom is big, and the staff is super helpful. The bad: When we arrive we realized the metro nearby was shut down for retrack (there is a bus however), the neighborhood isn't the best (although not as bad as Omonia), the elevator/lift is very small (can only fit 2 people and a suit […] case). Does not have a restaurant on site, and the neighborhood restaurants close early (9pm). Overall it is a good hotel for the price, and I would stay again. Les mer

We love this hotel! Super chic and cool, a nice oasis in Athens. I had never been to Athens before and I didnt realize that the city is very sketchy but our stay at Aeros def made it worth. I would recommend this hotel to anyone, is about 15 min walk to the monuments.

I chose the Areos based on cost versus our official conference hotel around the corner. I'm so glad. The hotel itself is lovely: modern style, beautiful bathrooms, comfortable lobby, breakfast, and bar areas. The staff are superior. Every encounter was a conversation and a help. Very easy to roll my two bags from the metro on arrival (a couple of […] blocks from Victoria station). Staff were also great at calling taxi for super early departure. Wireless available in my room and in breakfast area - seemed fast. Les mer

This is absolutely a hotel worth to consider. Brand new hotel, with excellent staff and a nice breakfast. Most of the rooms have a nice bathrooms & beds! I will recommend this hotel for business or pleasure - great value for money!

In dem Hotel haben wir uns sehr wohlgefühlt. Das Zimmer war sauber und in neuem Design, jedoch sehr klein. Allerdings muss ich der Fairness halber dazusagen, dass wir ein Einzelzimmer als Doppelzimmer zur Nutzung hatten (hatte aber normales Doppelbett). Frühstück war gut, das Personal nett und hilfsbereit. Manko: die Metrostation Victoria konnte wg. […] U-Bahn-Renovierung nicht genutzt werden und wir mussten auf die Station Omonia ausweichen. Am Nationalmuseum Mengen von zwielichtigen Gestalten, jedoch haben die niemandem was getan. Zum abendlichen Laufen nicht zu empfehlen. Tipp: Taxis sind sehr preiswert, so haben wir vom Hotel zum Omonia 3 EUR bezahlt. Viertel hat eine nette Studentenszene und ein paar gute Tavernen. Fazit: wer ein neueres Stadthotel haben möchte und ansonsten nicht so empfindlich ist, wenn die Umgebung mal nicht so schön ist, ist hier gut aufgehoben. Les mer

Chambres neuves, le tout semble rénové de peu. Très bon accueil et personnel prêt à répondre à toutes les questions. Les chambres sont grandes. Le seul bémol vient de la locaiisation, un peu éloignée du "centre", d'autant que la station de Métro Victoria est fermée pour travaux pour une durée non connue. Mais ceci explique aussi le prix très avantageux […] pour la qualité. Sinon c'est à coté du musée national. Il n 'y a pas de restaurants tout proches, mais en marchant un peu on trouve des adresses agréables. Et dernier peit point, signalé à la réception, il n'y a que des chaines de TV grecques, pas de CNN, France 24 ou TV5 Monde.. mais il parait que cela va venir. A recommander en tous cas! Les mer

ottimo albergo ,arredamenti nuovi ,riscaldamnento super , colazione abbondante , pulizia perfetta , personale disponibile e gentile , non lontano dal centro che si raggiunge anche a piedi , sono soddisfatto del soggiorno , ci tornerei volentieri .

Das Hotel Aeros liegt in sehr bequemer, fussläufiger Lage zur U-Bahn und Bushaltestellen. Ein Spaziergang ins Kneipenviertel Echarias ist auch leicht machbar. Das Hotel hat für griechische Verhältnisse ein super Preis-Leistungsverhältnis, netten und tollen Service und sehr schöne Zimmer. Frühstückbuffet ist auch gut und ausreichend. Und das wichtigste: […] Parken ist kein Problem, 24h Parkhaus nebenan und in den Seitenstrassen findet man immer eine kleine Parklücke. Im Vergleich zu den früher besuchten Hotels in Athen und Piräus war das Hotel Aeros eine richtig positive Entdeckung. Les mer

The hotel staff is very friendley and clean rooms. We did alot of things in Plaka which is about 25 minutes walk (or you can take a metro). In the weekend the bar turns up the volume of the music, which you can hear very good in the hotel rooms. This could be a disadvantage or an advantage if you want to hang out at the bar yourself.
