Staff were helpful, and now problems parking a tow car and trailer. Room was clean , quiet and comfortable. All that we needed.

We booked the Three Kings as we were attending a wedding at Hengrave Hall which was a 2 minute drive away. I telephoned the day before to let them know our wedding was at 2.30 in the afternoon and they let us check in early which was very kind. The room was quite old and basic, and yes, there was a little mould in the shower cubicle, but you could tell […] it had just been cleaned and the bed was very comfortable. We ate in the pub before the wedding and the food was fantastic, I would give that 5/5 for value and taste. The breakfast the day after was also very good. I would recommend this hotel if you are using it as a stopover and not planning on spending hours in your room. Staff are very helfpul and friendly. Les mer

I don't think this place has been visited by an assessor for a while. It is supposed to be 4*. I think it would struggle to get 3*. The shower was dirty, with mould and grime in the shower tray, visible when the cubicle door was opened. The tap had fallen off, so they had made-do with a long screw for guests to turn the water on. The shower tray was […] badly chipped - which although couldn't be helped and was not a indictator of it being unclean, it did not give the place a cared for appearance. The room was dirty, hairs everywhere, its 'ornate' lamps on the bedside table - that made it look 4* were caked in a layer of thick dust. The wardrobe was covered in cobwebs with a few resident spiders. I pity anyone who felt a need to use the blanket that was in there on the floor! The in-room kettle was scaled very badly and the cups, etc were not clean. There should be more in the hotel's write-up that says the rooms are in an annex in the pub garden. Guests should be prepared to be woken up at 6:30am when the brewery deliver the barrells, which are trudled past the door to your room and the only window that opens. The bin store is outside too - so you will hear boxes being broken down/ rubbish being thrown away. There does not appear to be any thought given to the fact that guests might be disturbed by the pub's 'workings'. Carparking was off road, beside the pub, which was good. Breakfast was okay - cooked english breakfast, cereals, toast, bananas and yoghurts. Les mer

the tables appeared clean but were sticky as though there was a surface film of unremoved by the application of a cleaning cloth which was itself non too clean. Food was mediocre apart from breakfast which was good. A good dose aof fly spray in the public and bedrooms would help as I fought a battle to keep flies off my food both in the evening and […] at the breakfast table. Les mer

Weekend stay, May 2012. Is an old public house with a separate modern extension which, based on our room, is now in need of facelift. One set of rooms faces car park, but we found no problem with noise; remainder face on to small beer garden which might be a problem on warm evenings. General location pleasant, countryfied, close to Bury St Edmunds; decent jumping off point for a number of interesting places, walks and beautiful countryside. Overall, ok for a couple of nights. Place is very nice and easy to find, pleasant greeting on arrival, rooms very nice comfortable and clean, breakfast was ordered on arrival which saves waste very good idea, and very nice food. Although we did not eat in the restuarant in the evening the menu was extensive and reasonable prices. As per many other reviews it's really hard to see why this has 4 stars. One star less and about £20 less per night would be about right. Full breakfast is included in the price but it's not £20 worth of breakfast. No shampoo provided and just the dregs of a shower gel bottle in the bathroom. Only one handtowel for 2 people in a double room. Coffee, […] tea and milk supplies not replenished on our second day. There was a list of what the maid should service inside the wardrobe but it was obviously out of date. Would be an OK 3 star hotel but definitely not 4 star. Wouldn't stay here again, sure there are better value for money places in the area. Les mer

Three Kings Inn Pub was an excellent place to stay - great breakfast, comfortable room, excellent and very accommodating staff. Minutes to Bury St Edmonds and a short drive to the bases.

Room overpriced. Hot water erratic - went cold after a minute or so during each shower. En suite not that clean. Comfortable warm bed. Good access through courtyard and good parking near to rooms. Evening meal good but I would give the pavlova a miss. Beakfast excellent. Friendly helpful waiting staff.

Not being snobby or anything but was pretty dissapointed with the hotel. Room window was single glazed and right outside the back entrance / smoking area / beer garden of the pub. Every time someone flushed a toilet it sounded like a new fault line had appeared in the middle of Norfolk and the shower was hopeless. The shower is designed as a wet room […] style jobby with a curtain and it certaintly doesn't dissapoint if you want a damp smelling bathroom for the rest of the night and the following day. The drainage system was almost completely blocked up to the extent where I was wading in my own shower water. The jet of water itself is pretty painful and I was too worried about hanging around to enjoy my shower in case the water started flowing into the bedroom! Dinner was quite nice as was breakfast but it doesn't really make up for the room I'm afraid. Will stay elsewhere next time. Les mer

This was a late booking & it was super, lovely old worlde pub with difference. Room was bright & airy plenty of space to move around. The breakfast was great. We decided to have meal in restarant in evening & it was 10/10 for service & flavour. Definatly be back. Thanks Sue

Small but pleasant room in a block behind the pub. However we stayed on a Sunday and got a call a few days after we booked to let us know that the pub was closed from 5pm each Sunday. This wasn't mentioned on the booking form. We didn't think it would be a problem until we got there and realised that there was nowhere else locally to have a drink or […] meal so had to drive to Bury, a couple of miles away. The area was lovely but very quiet on a Sunday. Breakfast was nicely cooked and well presented and served in the pub. Les mer

No TV remote control and as a result TV not functional. Bathroom in need of thorough clean especially shower cubicle. Restaurant food and service good, execllent breakfast

The room was comfortable and clean and lashings of hot water. The breakfast was excellent and cooked to order. We also enjoyed a very good evening meal in the bar. Improvements could be made in the room as follows: Larger kettle that works when more than half full! Better lighting - not good enough for me at 60+ to read in bed! Fun place to stay. Welcome change from big chain hotels. Within walking distance to the train station and the Abbey Gardens and Bury St. Edmund's high street. Pub is now "smoke free".

Vi havde en enkelt overnatning. Gode store værelse, fint badevær. En meget hyggelig gammel kro, med venligt personale. Vi skulle bestille taxa og låne et strygejern. Det ordnede de uden problemer. Morgenmaden var også i orden. Et stille og meget hyggeligt sted, som vi sagtens ville bruge igen, evt som base for hyggelige ture i området.
