Marine View Hotel - Guest House - Brighton

Clean room, moderate size and nice shower. We went for the weekend for my boyfriend's birthday and had planned on going for dinner and watching a dvd in the evening as our room had a dvd player included. When we arrived the room was missing the dvd player but the manager went and sourced one for us which was very good of him. Main points -The 'hotel' […] is more of a nice guesthouse and I definitely thought the prices were steep for what we had. -rooms are not in the least bit soundproof so we knew all about our neighbours! -cooked breakfast was a bit tragic - a teaspoon of beans and a quarter of a cherry tomato did make us laugh though +The staff were friendly +we were really close to the beach and the pier (2 mins walk to the beach, 5 mins to the pier) +manager went out of his way to help +cool jukebox with an... 'ecclectic' range of music which also made us laugh Definitely had an okay stay, wouldn't stay again for the price though. Les mer

The Marine View hotel is very well situated in Brighton. New Stein is a nice broad road running back from the seafront with a pleasant central gardens area. There is parking along both sides of these gardens. It is pay and display at £1 per hour until early evening, when it becomes free and starts again at 09:30. We put about £5 in which gave us parking […] from about 3pm round to 10:00 am when we checked out. The hotel looks nice from the road, and after mounting the few steps to the front door, we were promptly greeted by the proprieter who made us feel very welcome. He explained everything we needed to know (including parking). Our room (8) was on the top floor, 4 storeys up. There were 47 steps up to our room, so not for the disabled or those with dodgy tickers. The room was pleasant enough with clean ensuite and an adequate shower in which the water temp could be set as desired. The bed was comfortable, there was a very small CRT portable TV on top on the wardrobe! Tea making facilities were there with all you would need including bikkies! The breakfast, served between 9 and 10 am was very nice. Juices, cereals, full english, tea, coffee, toast. There are plenty of restaurants, pubs, shops very adjacent, including a Tesco Express and a 24 hour chemist. All in all we had a pleasant stay at the Marine View, and for the amount we paid, would recommend it. Les mer

I really wanted to leave a positive review as the owner greated me with a warm welcome however I think improvements could be made. On arrival the radiator in my room wasnt on so it was very cold. I was in the room for 3 hours with extra layers on, the heating on flat out and under a blanket and i was still very cold. The bed wasnt the most comfortable […] and the room small. The ensuite was also very small but with the nature of the house it was meant to be. The shower pressure was very poor and there was no desk so i had to do the work on my bed. On the positive side i could park right outside the door on a quite road (its free between 6pm and 9am), there were some nice pubs, shops and restaurants a small walk away and the view of the sea from the outside of the hotel was amazing. I think some improvements could be made like turning the heating on before the guests arrived to get the room warm and maybe having a small desk instead of a bedside table by the door would of helps a lot. I know times are tough but come on! This B&B is tired and in dire need of re-decoration. Electric shower in room was cramped and poor, space in the room was tight and breakfast way below par. Parking is difficult before 6pm and not nearby - a problem to the elderly or less abled. Shame - this did not live up to the web-site or expectations. I am always […] cautious about being negative as I know livelyhoods depend on these reviews but honesty is also necessary. On the plus side the staff were friendly, relaxed and accomodating, but overall not enough to recommend this B&B to a friend. When times are tough and money is tight, I want something a little better than this for my hard earned money. Les mer

Marine View Guest House has far exceeded any of the other accomodation I have stayed at during my trip. The staff are warm and accommodating, the rooms are super clean and comfy, the breakfast was fresh and plentiful. The location is perfect. Right across the road from the Brighton Pier and right in the heart of Kemp Town. The centre of town is a very […] short stroll and you can get anywhere from here. Ett bra litet guest house. Frukost utan grönsaker o frukt, men ok. Lyhört, så vill man ha lite lugn o ro kanske man ska välja nåt annat. Ägaren trevlig o rummet bra så helhetsintrycket blir ändå bra.

Personale molto gentile e disponibile, buona la colazione. BUona la posizione rispetto a luoghi di interesse. Pareti delle stanze poco insonorizzate e quindi.......bisogna essere fortunati.

Hotal Marine View à Brighton: Les 4 * sur le site de l'hôtel correspondent plutôt à 2 *. Hôtel très bien tenu, propre et très bien placé. Un peu cher tout de même (chambre avec un lit simple, salle de bain extérieure, très peu de place pour bouger dans la chambre)
