Either I did not read the fine print or it was not there on the Hotels.com hotel info page. The entire Island of Bali shuts down, I mean no auto traffic, jet service, electricity, AC, water and minimal hotel services on Hindu New year, on a 10 month (moon ) cycle. It totally sucked being unable to flush toilets and bathing in the swimming pool! Freezers […] were off and I expect that the hotel food was spoiling. The hotel gates were shut and no one was allowed in or out of the hotel grounds. The staff did the best they could but as a westerner, I will never visit Bali on Hindu new year again. Almost ruined my expensive vacation. Les mer

This hotel really is a piece of heaven on earth. arriving at night the drive up to the hotel is a dream-scape of Bali umbrellas under lit and lovely water features. And it gets better inside. Beautiful hotel and excellent service. The grounds was huge, restaurant had great food. We had a room with a private pool which was great. The reason why we gave comfort of room number 3 was because our villa had an outside bathroom. Although the room itself was great, having an outside bathroom in the humidity meant having insects and therefore it […] wasn't the best set up. A bit far from town, so a shuttle is needed. Per wise, very high class for a reasonable price: our swimming pools, huge soaker tubs, great service.

Natural beauty is what this hotel is all about. Serene setting amidst lush landscape. Three beautiful pools with just the perfect water temp. The Staff is always on hand, although they let you feel as though you are totally alone. We had to change rooms as the "MangoWood" room leaked after the first rain. We were moved to the Puri Rama suite which was […] so spacious and had an attached, secluded outdoor bathroom (perfect for privacy) However: as a life long Californian, I did have to adjust to what real nature does entail. Meaning the Gecko on the ceiling of our room, and the Kittens in the bathroom. The Staff did try their best to remove the Gecko, but he wouldn't give up and returned each night. I was very happy to use the netting that hung around our bed.. That was the only "negative" to this otherwise magnificent hotel.. The hotel had a shuttle that deposted us in the center of Ubud, which was maybe a 7 min drive. I personally loved the secludedness of this magnificent hotel. Les mer

Excellent facilities and very good service. The biggest drawback is the shuttle service to get to downtown: it is infrequent and unreliable. The hotel location makes it quite difficult to walk to down town and getting taxis to come back is not easy.

My two daughters (17 and 9 years old) and I stayed at the hotel for two nights. We were staying in Nusa Dua and decided at the last minute to go to Ubud while the my husband and son went surfing. We booked our room the day before on hotels.com and didn't know what to expect. It was a very unique experience unlike any other hotel I've been to before! […] It will always be a great memory. We drove in to the grand hotel entrance surrounded by gardens. We were greeted by friendly employees in a gorgeous lobby with amazing art work and two staircases (hence "The Mansion"). Our room was out back in Baliwood - a short walk through vibrant gardens and statues. The room was not that great - it had a rattan ceiling and a bathroom that was in the back of the room, separated from our room by a sliding glass door but still private. The room had a strong musky, earthy smell which was overshadowed by a candle burning a strong jasmine scent hidden in the corner. I put out the candle so we could deal with one smell and not two. It wasn't really moldy - just earthy. The air-conditioning worked fine. The bed was a "king" but really it was two full beds put together. It was clean and comfortable and easily fit all three of us. The bathroom was not air-conditioned but it was clean and different - the shower was above the tub with no curtain and part of the floor was bamboo poles and you could see the ground. (The girls were a little freaked about about a snail on the wall the size of my hand - I told them that is was their hotel pet so they named him Chad.) But other parts of the floor were very nice tile and marble fixtures. Overall, I thought the room was fine for a couple of nights - the toilet worked great and the sink area was fine - the towels were clean. There were beautiful paintings on the walls and elegant art work and statues every where you looked. It was a strange combination of funky and elegant. I think this is an okaish hotel - no wow factor. The location is really good being close to Ubud, the overall concept is good but def getting old. the bathroom has a weird set up and not very convenient with bath/ toilet/shower on one side of the room and the rest on the other side of the room. Toilet was leaking and open to the rest of the room so […] better get you other half to stay outside of the room when doing what you have to do! Breaksfast is not the best but ok. Famous Bali hospitality are fully displayed here by it's staff with beautiful smiles all around from morning till night. All guests were smiling as well which spoke of satisfaction and content. We stayed in three hotels on our trip but the mansion outdistanced the rest in almost all categories. If we had not stayed here, I wouldn't have wrote any review […] of Our trip in Bali. This is my first review ever and my wife also insisted we write ASAP. From Astar in reception down to the driver, our sincere thanks. Our children cannot forget this house (mansion) as if it is like their home. My parents love it too. We hope we can come again and hope this will not be our last. Thank you for a memorable stay. We love the landscape garden and room designs. The service staff were very attentive and helpful. However, our breakfast in the hotel was always accompanied by flies flying over our food and drinks...most annoying! Otherwise, the place was prefect.

This hotel is not a 5 star hotel, it is a 3 star hotel. For the price I paid I could have gotten a much better and cleaner hotel compared to this hotel. It looks like the monster family mansion. This hotel needs to be cleaned since it is dirty, the mattress of the bed should be changed. If you dont mind staying in a dirty place where even the floor […] of the room is dirty this your place. I recomend the owner to invest a little in an overall manintenance and will gain a lot. Les mer

The best hotel we've ever stayed in. The hotel is magnificient with a grand appearance, beautiful gardens and pools and big comfortable rooms. The staff are extremely helpful and friendly and seem genuinely happy to work there. Whilst the romance of hotel is ideal for couples, it is also fine for families, and the staff were fantastic with our 2 year […] old during our 8-day stay. It is about 4 km from Ubud CBD so the free hotel shuttle or taxis are necessary unless you like to walk (which is definitely worth doing at least once if you have the time). All in all, we don't hesitate to recommend The Mansion. Les mer

We stayed at The Mansion Resort and Spa in Nov 2010 on our first trip to Bali. The hotal and staff were faultless. The room was beautiful, clean and spacious. The staff were the highlight of our trip. Nothing was too much trouble. They were gracious and went above and beyond to ensure our holiday was lovely. The Mansion is set in the gorgeous Ubud region with many things to do and see although we could have happily stayed at the resort with it pools, day spa and restuarants. the hotel is charming, with comfortable room, cleanness is OK. It lies pretty quietly about 2 km outside of the busy Ubud centre with hourly shuttle bus to the centre (bravo). So you can have easy contact with the nature (rice fields), you have plenty of arts in the surroundings, the cozy Ubud centre, several good restaurants. And one additional plus: […] you don't hear the sound of traffics in this hotel, especially at night. And someone who knows Bali nowadays will recall the ever present noice of the traffic almost everywhere. Les mer

Went to this hotel because I NEEDED solid internet as it was more work than play... they advertised high speed wireless and wired internet... moved rooms when i got there because I couldnt connect then spent the next 3 hours trying to connect on 3 different devices, eventually got it to work. Next day when I really needed it, it let me down badly and […] cost me thousands and thousands of $. Gutted about that. The level of service was exceptional. The room was spotless. The breakfast was great. The only criticism I could make (and it was a minor one) was a breakfast waiter that tried to solicit business for his side job as a driver. Overall, this was a very good hotel and a great value.

I didn't want to stay at a generic chain resort that lacked personality and 'The Mansion' did not disapoint. The place has 25 rooms so it is quiet but opulent. The gardens and facilities are immaculate and superbly decorated with fantastic food, serene pools and gorgeous rooms. The spa was a bit expensive but well worth the price. The staff are so lovely, […] personable and helpful. (For fantastic tours ask for their driver, Gusty who went above and beyond the call of duty.) It wasn't absolutely perfect but that is the trade off for staying at a place that is truly Balinese. If it were seaside, I could have spent my entire holiday happily at 'The Mansion'. Les mer

The Mansion oli positiivinen yllätys - hinnaltatasoltaan kerrassaan loistava. Palvelut toimivat hyvin, hotelli oli hyvälaatuinen ja vaikka hotelli oli Ubudin keskustastsa sivussa, hotellilla oli toimiva sukkulapalvelu.

Un Hotel con tremendo encanto, te hace sentir que estas en un relato de P.S. Well.. what to say. It´s not a bad hotel in any way, but unless you are in your mid 50th or late 70th and crasy in to pretentious art, this might not be the place for you. They have excellent service and friendly staff. The breakfast Croissants are like heaven and the pools are refreshing. The shuttles are perfect transport to and from the center of […] Ubud. I´ts close and beautiful to walk the short way into town, but perhaps a bit hard to find the way at night. I´d say you won´t miss anything at the mansion, but still not get the feeling of satisfaction. Was it all of the French people standing on top of you trying to get that last perfect photo of the Mansion and its garden. I´m not sure. Don´t book for a long stay but do try a night or two to get the feel of the Mansion since many things can change ower time. Les chambres sont spacieuses, mais les tentures mériteraient un petit lavage, de même la literie est pleine de puces. Friendly staff, slow service if you use the "wood" area and food not up to 5* level. interesting anyway, gallery and hotel in one, many pools and not many people when visiting off season.

Totaal niet overeenkomstig met de beschrijving. Slechte locatie, omgeving treurig ( bouwterrein), slechte ontvangst, kamer uit de jaren '70. Eerder een 3 sterren waardering , max, op zijn plaats.
