Hotel Silla - Roma

Good hotel, great location, friendly staff, however room was quite small. Didn't have any trouble staying with our 1 year old.

Everything with hotel Silla was great, its location specially. Only gripe I got was that the WiFi did not work from room. This was major pain as we needed it for booking museum tickets, airline web checking etc. The only way we could use it was to go down to reception. Hope they fix it soon.

Travelled to Rome in June with a friend and used this hotel as a place to sleep and recharge for sightseeing. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful, willing to give advise on getting around. The room was clean and in the morning you could smell baking from the wholesale patisserie downstairs. It is also a good base - walking distance to the Vatican. […] The Metro - Ottaviana (Line A) is just outside and gets you to the spanish steps, trevi fountain and termini. This should be a three star hotel. Tip: Exchange rates at money exchanges are not great though found 2 outside termini near tram stop with decent rates. Les mer

I and my brother stayed in this hotel for 3 days during our trip to Rome. It is a nice hotel in safe neighborhood in very close proximity to Vatican and walking distance to everything else. Hotel Silla is a very basic, well located, clean, nice hotel. Our room itself was relatively small, but nice, with high ceilings. The showers had plenty of hot water and the staff was friendly and spoke decent English. If you were in a hurry, you could probably be on a train on metro line A just a few minutes after leaving your room (which means you […] could be in the heart of the city in ten minutes), and the Vatican is about a ten minute walk. In addition, the hotel is located in the same courtyard as a pasticceria, which means you'll be smelling fantastic cupcakes if you open your window. The room was spacious and clean. It had marble flooring and en suite bathroom with hair dryer. The room/bed was comfortable and very relaxing as it is quiet. Good for couples and families(in the room next to us was a family with a baby). The location is superb!it was close to the metro (ottaviano) and close to the Vatican grounds. There are a lot of […] restaurants,convenience stores, internet cafes, and clothes shops around. It made our tour convenient and easy. Desk staff was very helpful also in terms of helping us navigate around Rome. One chambermaid was not very good in english but understandable; she was very helpful and reliable though. Wifi was good, not much 11pm onwards but during the day it is ok. They upkeep of the room was done daily and left very tidy. Lifts are available as well so very convenient. The hotel has great security, is very clean and is close to the Vatican (about 6 blocks) and the subway (1 block). I had a tour booked that requried that I check in once I arrived in Rome. The person at the desk confirmed for me since he spoke Italian and made the process very simple. I particularly liked the tile floors as opposed to a dirty carpet […] I've had at other hotels. I've stayed here for a couple of days after christmas & new years. It's a good 2 stared hotel. The Staff is quite friendly and helpful. The hotel is quite clean, which gives a feeling that it's like combined from several apartments within a building. The rooms were very clean. However the sheets could have been a bit better quality, and also the towels! […] If I'm complaining about the towels (which were like bed sheets), you should figure out that there's not so much to complain about this place :) The room was well heated as well. Maybe the downside, there was no mini-fridge. Everything else was fine. The main reason why you're possibly checking this place out, is because of the location. The location seems to be in a middle-high class neighbourhood, so it's quite quite safe (also being next to the Vatican helps!). Since the Vatican is walking distance and so is the metro, the hotel is located in a convinient place. BUT, this doesn't help once you want to go to the - e.g. Trevi fountain, Pantheon, etc...- 'old part of town', you might get stuck in taking a metro and walking, or just walking from the Vatican. Discovering Rome by foot is the best way, but if you are not keen of walking that much, you may not find this hotel the best located place to stay at. Les mer

This was an excellent hotel. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable. It was close to the metro station and the Vatican City. We enjoyed our stay very much and highly recommend this hotel.

We stayed there a week and the hotel was nice looking but the maid service was terrible. They have a sign in the bathroom asking you to use your towel more than once to save the earth resources (which I agree with) and to put the ones you want to be replaced on the floor when you want a new one. We followed their request but on the second day a towel […] that was dirty by looking at it reappeared on the towel rack again instead of being replaced like the others I had on the floor with it. Then on the third day we spilt something on our sheets and figured they would replace it with clean ones but they did not. They continued to just make the bed again with the same sheets. Also you have to pay for A/C which is not stated on Expedia. The best thing about the hotel is free WiFi and the location is awesome. The subway is less than a minute walk so you can hop on it and go to other parts of the city and in walking distance to the Vatican. Also there are alot of places to eat nearby. I would stay there again if I was just going for a weekend. Never again would I stay there for a week. Les mer

The Hotel staff was very helpful. I was very happy with the service that I received. This hotel is closer to Vatican and there is a metro 2mins from the hotel and the staff are very helpful in giving you direction to wherever or what you want to do. Eileen

This is a beautiful little hotel near the Vatican, and just steps from the Metro. The rooms are the small, european style rooms. But the place is clean, fresh and updated. If they would buy some decent towels and put Kleenex in the rooms, they would hove a great hotel. It was quiet and located in a safe, decent neighborhood.

L'Hotel Silla si è confermato un posto strategico sia per turismo (prossimità Vaticano, Metro a 100 m., BUS a 50 m) che, nel mio caso, per lavoro (Congresso Hotel Cavalieri). Staff gentile e disponibile, camera piccola ma confortevole, igiene e pulizie curate. Scale di accesso e lift rispettivamente ben mantenute e moderno. Camere lato cortile un pò […] rumorose (a finestra semiaperta) per la mattiniera attività lavorativa del laboratorio di pasticceria sottostante, ma anche profumate precocemente e piacevolmente da dolci appena sfornati. Infine rapporto costo/beneficio decisamente favorevole Nel complesso giudizio assai positivo e sicura intenzione di ritornare. Les mer

A localização é boa, o hotel é limpo, mas os funcionários não são atenciosos, em baixo do hotel tem uma padaria, sendo assim, o barulho começa muito cedo, não tem computador, a wi-fi é horrivel só conecta na escada do hotel, não tem café da manhã e se você quiser usar o ar condicionado tem que pagar 10 euros por dia, o que é ridículo, ou seja, as únicas […] vantagens são: limpeza e proximidade de uma estação de metro. Nos gustó el hotel, la habitación tenia un buen tamaño y todo estaba limpio, pero tengo dos observaciones, una que la ducha es muy chica para lo amplio del bano y otra que cobran 10€ adicional a la tarifa acordada si uno quiere aire acondicionado, deberian ser mas claros en eso

Las habitaciones son modesas pero están limpias, las cámas son cómodas. VENTAJAS: La principal ventaja del hotel es que está muy cerca del Vaticano (5') y a 50 metros de la estación de metro. INCONVENIENTES: Los desayunos no están incluidos en el precio, pero muy cerca hay dos cafeterias en las que se puede un café muy rico.

窓が中庭に面しているので落ち着けます。宿泊客が少ない日はとても静かで快適でしたが。。。メトロＡに近く、市場や有名惣菜店FranchiのあるCola di Rienzo通りも至近でショッピングにも便利です。レセプションの方々にとてもよくしていただきました。二つ星以上の価値あり。おススメ。 なお1階のお菓子屋さんがとても美味しい。こちらもおススメ。

Stayed for 5 nights, mostly to enjoy Rome's sights and food. The room was clean, nice, but a bit small. Everything worked well and it was cleaned every day. The guys at the reception were very helpful and provided good information and chats. The street level gate was locked and the 24h reception always opened it when needed. The hotel is located in […] the Vatican area, about 2km west of the main city center. The area had superb restaurants all over, not the usual tourist traps that you find around the landmarks, but local, good priced food. The Vatican is only a 10min walk away. The very convenient metro station is only 50 meters from the hotel, which really makes it easy to visit all the famous sights around Rome within minutes. Walking in along some well known shopping streets takes you into the city center or old Rome in about 30 minutes. All in all a very pleasant experience. While breakfast isn't included, there's a local patisserie just by the corner of the hotel, with outside tables and nice paninis and coffee etc. Another very positive surprise was the hotels own taxi and driver, who took us to the airport, hassle free, for a fixed price, in a big air-conditioned mercedes - which is pure luxury compared to Romes tourist thieving taxis... Der Service ist sehr gut, die Bedienung freundlich und das Zimmer war immer sauber. Im Hinterhof ist eine Bäckerei. Solange des Fenster geschlossen ist, dringen keine Geräusche ins Zimmer. In der Nähe befinden sich viele Cafe´s und Restaurant´s, auch ein Supermarkt ist schnell zu erreichen. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und würden wieder dort buc […] hen. Les mer

Das Hotel war überraschend schnell zu finden und der Check-In lief problemlos. Die Bedienung sprach sogar Deutsch. Das Zimmer war klein, jedoch gut eingerichtet und zum Schlafen ideal geeignet. Das Bad ließ bis auf ein wenig zu kaltes warmes Wasser keine Wünsche offen. Die Umgebung ist gut zu Fuß zu erkunden und um die Ecke gibt es die Metrostation […] Ottavian. Bis zum nächsten Restaurant, Bar, Kiosk sind es nur Sekunden. Wer keine allzu hohen Ansprüche an Komfort und Ausstattung hat, wird mit diesem Zimmer einen guten und sauberen Schlafplatz haben, der den Aufenthalt in Rom angenehm macht. Les mer
