maten var muggen, frukten var ødelagt og kopper og fat var skittent, så det å få servert frokost var tragisk. det kan virke som de som arbeidet der var en stor familie fra sønn, til barnabarn, det er ikke noe sted å anbefale.

Et veldig spesielt hotell med flott beliggenhet, men ellers veldig enkel standard. Vi valgte å bo på hotellet ut i fra at vi bare skulle sove og spise frokost der. Rommene var knøtte små, men for så vidt greie nok i forhold til prisen. Frokosten var imidlertid godt under pari, med den av hotellet framhevede frukten som en desidert nedtur. Vår vistelse i London var en fullträff på alla sätt - 5 personer i ett rum med hems - riktigt bra: om än att frukostens beskaffenhet var utanför matguiders intresse. Blir samma nästa gång igen :) då med frukost på byn..........

Vi var en familie på 5 og bestilte familierom. Fikk et stort rom med hems + en liten veranda. Hadde veldig lave forventninger, men synes det var bedre enn forventet. Rommet var enkelt men fungerte bra for oss. Servicen var god, frokosten var veldig grei. Varierende klientell, men alle var hyggelige. Rolig og trygt område. Hvis man har med seg litt store […] barn slik som oss (8, 9 og 14 år) så vil jeg ikke ha noen problem med å bo her. MEN man må være klar over at standarden er enkel - ikke strøkent på noen som helst måte, men vi forventet "verre". Jeg vil si vi fikk mye for pengene. Man kan bo dyrere og dårligere i London! Litt slitent hotell, men hva kan man forvente for en billig penge. 25-29 november 2010 var min datter og jeg på dette hotellet. Lytt mellom rommene, men stille ellers nattestid. Sov godt. Såpe må medbringes, men handkle ble skiftet hver dag. Veldig trange bord i spisesalen som var i understasjen. Vi bestemte oss for å bestille rom hos St. Simeon pågrunn av den rimelige prisen og anbefalingene som andre hadde skrevet på hotels.com. Men da vi kom der, holdt hotellet absolutt ikke den standarden som vi forventet! Lobbyen var støvete, det var gamle planter og gjenstander overalt og det sto en gammel vaskemaskin i trappegangen. Vi var heldige og […] fikk et familierom, selv om vi var tre. Men den lille tv'en som var plassert på stativ på veggen var ødelagt, så de hadde plassert en annen på et lite bord ved siden av badet. Vi fikk rene håndkler hver dag, men de hadde ingen såpe eller shampoo på rommet. Når det kommer til frokosten som var inkludert i prisen, så fant den sted i et lite spiserom i kjelleren ved siden av et miniatyrkjøkken. Det var ikke stor plass, så alle satt ganske tett. Betjeningen gikk rundt og serverte drikke og toast. I tillegg kunne vi få engelsk frokost som bestod av en pølse, et speilegg og litt bacon som ikke var helt stekt. Vi kunne ikke forsyne oss selv, betjeningen skulle bringe alt til oss. Dette er serlvfølgelig basert på hva vi foretrekker, men basert på egen erfaring så har jeg bodd på hostel i London som holdt bedre standard enn St. Simeon, og til mye bedre pris. Tilslutt vil jeg bare si at på vår siste bestemte vi oss for å bestille taxi til Liverpool Station pågrunn av tung bagasje. Vi henvedte oss til resepsjonen og hørte om de kunne bestille taxi for oss. Resepsjonisten fortalte oss at de var med i en avtale mellom hotell og taxi slik at vi kunne få en spesiell pris. Det viste seg at det var eienen av hotellet, altså den eldre familiefaren, som skulle kjøre oss til togstasjonen i familiens egen bil. Han skrudde på GPS'en og kjørte avgårde. Vi var selvfølgelig bekymret for at vi i det hele tatt skulle komme fram siden han måtte bruke GPS. Kjøreturen gikk greit, men da vi kom frem kjørte han to ganger rett forbi stasjonen. Loved it!

We are a family of 5 and it was difficult to find accommodations that would fit all of us. St. Simeon was perfect! Plenty of beds for all and within walking distance from tube to all the major museums. Hotel staff was outstanding as well. By far the friendliest people we met in London. I would recommend this hotel for its location and friendly staff, however the accomodation standards are poor. If you are visiting London for a couple of days, are on a budget and don't mind hostel-type accomodation and don't intend to spend much time in the hotel, it will be fine. Pros: 1. Close to Gloucester Road tube station, Picadilly and Circle […] Lines. Only one tube ride home from West End. 2. Located in Knightsbridge, a very safe area 3. Can use the kitchen facilities including microwave, kettle etc (expect when breakfast is being prepared by the staff) 4. Exceptionally friendly and attentive staff 5. Very cheap for the area! 6. My daughter and I were upgraded from a double to a triple room at no extra cost. 7. The other travellers we met were all very friendly. Cons: 1. The room smelt damp 2. The single bed was so lumpy that my daughter and I shared the double bed. This was our original plan as we had only booked a double room so we weren't upset by this. 3. The room desperately needed a refurb - the toilet cistern lid was broken; the wooden veneer on the tv stand/cupboard was warped stood a couple of inches above the the top it was supposed to be attached to; and although the bathroom was clean, it had black mould growing in the corners. 4.There was no hot water in the mornings for a shower. Evenings seemed to be OK. 5. One of the plug sockets didn't work. 6. The curtains were too small for the window. Les mer

The hotel was conveniently placed for tubes & busses,but the room was VERY small, & had no tea making facilities. The dinning room was also , very small, & cramped, even down to the size of the tables.Tea & coffee , served for breakfast, was usually only warm.If you had cerial, they didnt wait for you to finnish them before bringing the cooked English […] breakfast, which was of poor quality food, and left you juggleing to find space to put it.There was plenty of fruit to be consumed, but there again, either the bannanas were 1/2 black, apples & pears small, and like as if picked off orchard floor, with scabs etc on them. One evenning, we went to the kitchen to make tea, as we were told we could, on going in the fridge for milk, the bottom shelves of the fridge were running with blood & juice , off the bacon.Sorry, not the sort of place we would frequent again, or recomend. Cheap hotel near tube station and central. Walk distans toi Harrods, a fiew minutes by tube to Oxford Str. The hotel staff wa serviceminded, friendly and very helpfull.

The location of the hotel is excellent, and the service is also excellent - the owners are friendly and polite. The rooms are very small and their quality isn't too high, but they'll do, especially if you're not too picky.

The hotel location was fantastic, it was located in a very safe afre and a few minute walk to Glouster Road tube station. The staff were very helpfull, its basic acomodation but very comftable. i would stay here again for another 1 night trip or if you are not plannying on spending any time in the hotel room.

My friend and I had a pleasant stay at this hotel, The location & price were the reasons I chose St Simeon it is close to the tube. Our room was on the top floor, it was not specious but the beds were comfy, it was clean and windows were easy to open. We stayed at this small family run hotel on our vacation. It is in a 4 floor townhouse in South Kensington, only a few blocks from the Gloucester Road metro station. It was very convenient for Kensington Palace as well as the Victoria & Albert Museum and Natural History Museum. The staff was very helpful and they serve full English breakfast. Central, extremely quiet and safe location, good breakfast, cleanliness, minimal but satisfactory room comfort, friendly staff. Kitchen facilities available free of charge. Could be a little cheaper.

We stayed at the St Simeon so we could attend a concert in the Royal Albert Hall. It was a lovely walk to the Hall, only about 20 minutes. The hotel itself was horrible. Very old and run-down. Our washbasin was attached to the wall with one thread and the toilet looked like it was originally from 1890. The room itself was so small that one of us had […] to sit on the bed to let the other pass. There was no room for our luggage. The shower curtain was new as was the shower head. The water was warm in the mornings but cold at night. The breakfast was good. The staff tried hard but it is difficult to enjoy yourself in such conditions. Absolutely fab friendly staff. Good breakfast - plenty of food. We had a quad room, has a ensuite built in. Very basic room and some parts of the hotel could do with some repair. But for price and location an excellent hotel, you get what you pay for. When I travel to the UK to visit family on the east coast i'll usually book a last minute hotel in London to make my journey to LHR a bit easier. I found the St. Simeon because all of the other hotels had been booked. The hotel is conveniently located near the Gloucester tube stop, just a short walk to left and right off the Picadilly line that will […] take you to LHR. That's why I always choose this South Kensington neighborhood. However, the hotels in the area were going for three times what I paid in that area in the past. That's how I discovered the St. Simeon... was the least expensive and had free wifi listed. While I walked up to check in they first treated me like I had walked in to try get a room while they were totally booked. After plunking down a 3GBP deposit for a key on a VW car keychain, I was escorted up to my room in the tiny lift. The room I was assigned was 25. Two heavy doors to open then into the dingy, musty room. It consisted of two single beds, and old tv, and a nightstand. The bathroom was filthy. Shower still had shaving stubble stuck to the side and the shower head itself would not stay up so had to hold it the entire time. No soap or wash cloths provided, just a towel. Beds were alright, sleep-able but thin sheets which made it cold at night. The window had been cracked open and was unable to close it and two odd shape curtains covered a quarter of the window itself allowing light in. The free wifi which is mentioned didn't work in my room. One of my selling points to the hotel. This was a huge disappointment. I took my laptop downstairs asked if they had a lounge to sit in. Just the dark little kitchen and dining room downstairs below the check in desk. Even down here the internet was slow. The staff were friendly but would walk around trying to push the moldy fruit and coffee off on you. Overall it wasn't a very pleasant stay. Convenient to two tube lines and the Museum of Natural History, this hotel is cheap, comfortable, and above all friendly. The desk was very attentive to our needs and the breakfasts were splendid. Excellent hotel in this price range.

Compared to the other hotels at this price, we got what we paid for but we were definitely happy with our stay. The room was small with 2 small twin beds. The sheets smelled a little musty which was a bit uncomfortable to sleep in, the private bath and toilet was very clean, the staff was extremely courteous and helpful, the complementry breakfast was […] more than what we expected-be sure to get there earlier than later because the dining room gets full quickly around 8-ish. The hotel was located in a posh area of London, surrounded by 4-star hotels and nearby restaurants and close enough to catch the tube to take you to either Heathrow or Gatwick airport or to any neighborhood you wish. Nous sommes partis à 5 personnes à Londres pour 2 nuits. La chambre contient 5 lits simples agréables, dont 3 sur mezzanine. Situé au premier étage avec un accès sur le balcon donnant vue sur la rue. Le quartier est très sympathique et très riche. L'hôtel se situe proche des stations bus et métro ce qui est très pratique. l’Hôtel est idéalement situé proche d'une station de métro amenant directement au centre de Londres. La chambre est spacieuse, il n'y a que la salle de bain qui ne soit pas à la hauteur du reste. Je conseil malgré tout cet établissement.
