This hotel was more than we expected for the price. It had a nice big bathroom, a huge bedroom with a huge closet, a living room, and a kitchen with fridge, stove, sink, microwave. All for the price of a room. It was clean and just perfect. We will definitely recommend the Handy Suites to our friends and will stay again.

The place is immaculately clean, reasonably comfortable, and the price is excellent. The Handy Suite is my first choice.

I stay at this hotel whenever I come to Vermont. Aside from very friendly and helpful staff, the rooms are clean and enormous - kitchen and living room combo, and private bedroom. And it is convenient to shopping, downtown Burlington. It is a terrific value.

People who worked there were very nice, though having desk clerks or others eating and visiting behind the desk seemed a bit unprofessional and was a common occurrence. Tub, all fixtures could not have been cleaner, but maintenance not being kept up on what looked to be inexpensive (not robust enough for hotel use) furniture to begin with. Curtain rod […] was trying hard to fall off the wall in the LR, bureau drawers difficult to open and close, etc. Huge closets, but had to ask for hangers as we had none. Great size room, in-room safe, and marvelous price for suite with full kitchen (which was also very clean). Just don't expect anything fancy. Heard people above us scraping chairs along floor at 6:00 a.m. both mornings. Breakfast was sweet rolls, bananas, coffee - pretty minimal, and the desk clerk was responsible for restocking breakfast while manning the desk. Didn't use the indoor pool, but it looked like it would be fun w/ a slide. Les mer

This hotel had a great price and location. I have stayed in several hotels in the burlington area and this was definitely one of the better values. It is just a short ride to downtown Burlington and very close to I-89. The only complaint I had was that receptionist did not know any breakfast places, she recommended Dennys or a bagel place across the […] street. I do not prefer chains so I was able to find a fantastic breakfast place called Penny Cluse Cafe on Cherry St downtown. Les mer

We stayed here for one night but, what a great night! The hotel staff were pleasant and friendly. Our room was extremely clean and super comfortable. If we are ever in the area again, we will absolutely be staying here again!

Great idea to offer an appartment with kitchen and fridge, at a reasonable price. The location isn't so important when you are moving around, so it's perfect for a family holiday. The rooms are huge for an hotel and all is very clean. Only problem: if your neighbour listen to the TV, you are listening also....

This place is perhaps the nicest motel I have ever stayed in. The rates were reasonable....the staff was friendly and helpful.... the room was spacious, well maintained and comfortable. The location was convenient, quiet and safe. I have stayed in a lot of different motels over the years and this particular motel was and is by far the nicest.

We stayed in this hotel from 10/25-10/29 during our visit to Vermont. The hotel is closer to I-89 exit 15 (even though Google maps says exit 12). Likes: 1. Very very decently priced hotel. 2. Staff very friendly and courteous 3. Room looked old (hotel built in 2004) but was very comfortable and clean. 4. Safe neighborhood and close to all the attractions […] in downtown Burlington. 5. Has a kitchenette which helped us a lot as we were with our 10 month old baby. Not too many utensils provided. Only the bare minimum with no Paper towels. We were carrying some utensils so was not an issue. The grocery store, Shaws (by car) and Rite Aid (walking dist) is close by. 6. Has an indoor heated pool. The pool is a little deep for kids(6ft) if they want to play in the water and don't know swimming. Water temp was good but water tasted a little funky too me. 7. Breakfast included. Not a great spread. Cannot complain for the price I was paying. Still good to kick start the day with Bananas, Bread (toast) , muffins, coffee and orange juice. There is an excellent Bakery and Cafe right across the street. In short, if you are looking for a decently priced with average expectations and a kitchenette, I would highly recommend this hotel. We arrived at 12:30pm, much earlier than the 3pm check-in time, but they were able to accommodate us right away anyways. That was a pleasant surprise. When we walked into our room, the first thing we noticed was how freezing cold it was. The window was wide open. After breathing the air for a bit, we figured out why; the room smelled very strongly […] of cigarette smoke. We were never offered a choice between smoking/non-smoking when booking the room, so we ended up with a smoking room. We probably wouldn't have minded the smell if we were smokers, but we're not. Other than the smell and the cold, our first impression of the room was very positive. Very large with many open spaces, and a full kitchen. The bedroom was equally large, with a gigantic walk-in closet. The rooms are furnished and decorated somewhat sparingly (there was only one picture on one wall, and the rest were all bare), but it's hard to complain considering the amazing price we paid. The bed was standard motel fare, nothing to brag about but no major complaints either. Apparently there's an indoor pool, but we did not have a chance to use it. They also have free breakfast buffet, but we didn't get to try that either. Overall, I'd rate our experience there as excellent, with slight reservations about ending up with a smoking room. I'm sure if we had arrived at the regular check-in time, we would've had a wider selection and could've picked a non-smoking room instead. Les mer

I've stayed at hotels that call their rooms suites before. They tend to be 2 rooms joined together that also have a small fridge and a microwave. This was actually a small apartment- full eat-in kitchen (including stove and dishwasher), living room, bedroom (with a walk in closet) and bathroom. The room came with a computer connection- not WiFi, but […] a plug-in (cable included in room charge). The hotel has an indoor pool (somehow missed that when booking) as well as a continental breakfast. The room was quite clean. There are no pictures on any of the walls (a bit odd). The plug to use the computer, in the room I stayed in, was actually behind the couch, not near the desk (another oddity). The living room furniture was passable (not particularly comfortable); the bed and pillows were decent. Water pressure in the shower could have been better, but was ok. My only real complaint is that the walls are really thin, so every noise sounds as if it's in your room (the people above me seemed to be constantly rearranging their furniture one evening). The hotel is convenient to Burlington without charging Burlington rates. All in all, a very good experience. Les mer

This hotel is in very good condition. The place is clean, well-maintained and safe. The bed was very comfortable and the queen suite was quite spacious. The rates are relatively good for the area. We only stayed one night, but would return to this hotel any time I'm in the area. Front desk reception was friendly, helpful, interested and warm and welcoming. Could not have been happier with check-in, information and room. HUGE suite with all amenities. Would be great for long stay or family. Clean kitchen, bathroom, pool room, breakfast room. for someone who does not smoke (I realized I took what was available) I would not take a smoking room again.. for my room --bathroom sink faucet was not sacured down to sink.. the coffee pot in room was missing the caraffe so if we want to make coffee we couldn't .. I have stayed here 3 other times on different floors that did not allow smoking and […] those rooms were great.. Les mer

Nice place overall,had a pool,very convenient location to colleges and the Champlain Valley Fair..

Based on the great reviews on tripadvisor, we were surprised by this hotel. We weren't expecting anything grand, but really, it's on the edge of not so hot. The good - staff is very nice, rooms are large, location is good, pool slide is fun, location is near a great bagel shop and a drug store. And of course, the price is great. The bad - room is […] only surface clean, there's very little cooking equipment supplied, and my 10 year old complained about the sofa bed being uncomfortable for the first time in her life - easy to understand since it sloped a great deal and was very lumpy. We were also bothered that the stairway smelled pretty bad, and the hallways almost always smelled of various cooking smells. It's not a terrible place by any means, but it certainly didn't seem up to what previous reviewers had said about it. Les mer

Staff was great. My concerns were within the room itself. I t looks as if someone lived there as a long term rental. Walls dirty and marks everywhere, corner unti broken and no light, no screens and the plastic piping on the couch was broken and stuck into your legs as we sat. Sparce kitchen items. Hotel was very clean, management was very helpful. We will definitely stay again. The only negative was the mattress on the sofa bed. Children enjoyed the pool. We could not find the fitness room. But was very convenient for our needs.

Large room with full kitchen was a surprise. Breakfast is minimal but good bagel shop across the street.

The continental breakfast was very lacking, we were told the reason for this is because we have suites. However, other hotels that we have used with suites had a much better selection.

The room we had was essentially a one bedroom apartment. There's an eat-in kitchen with a toaster, microwave, fridge, stove, dishwasher, and a few basic pots and dishes. A living room with tv, and a separate bedroom with tv. The room was as clean as any regular hotel room, and overall was pretty quiet. We only stayed overnight, but would stay again, […] especially if we needed an extended stay in Burlington. Les mer

There's nothing fancy about Handy Suites, but for a very reasonable rate you can get a kitchen and living area and a separate bedroom. If you prepare meals there rather than going out to eat every day this will surely save money. A couple of things didn't work right, but the staff was very prompt at getting them fixed.

This was my second stay here and both times no complaints. At check-in the front desk staff was so friendly. Room was a great size, felt cozy and was very clean. Loved that I could bring along my dog! Definitely will return here next time I am in the area.

We rate this motel 3-4 stars. Management was professional & friendly. Rooms very clean. Nice, central location w/ walking path behind. Our girls loved the pool and slide which was underused allowing for our private fun time. And nothing beats saving a few bucks by grocery shopping and cooking in suite.

Very pleased with our two-night stay here. Our suite was very clean, quiet and pleasant....would have loved to have stayed longer. Climate control was very good, tub and basin drained well, all amenities were fine. Front desk staff was wonderful and friendly, as was the housekeeping staff. Stayed three nights at the Handy Suites. Perfect for families and will stay again next visit. The Hotel made us feel most welcome.

I was pleasantly suprised by size of room. I was there on a Business trip, and didnt realize i was in a Suite that ofered so many amenities,and it is pet friendly as well, I am planning on coming back to stay a ew days and enjoy surrounding area- so amy things to do and see-- Thank youf or a most enjoyable stay . Very friendly staff. Clean rooms with a lot of space. We stayed an additional night because it wassuch a nice place to stay at...for the price. I would have expected a much higher rate for this standard.

Nice big suite, unbelievably good price, nice indoor pool, and a very friendly staff - they even called the room to make sure everything was fine. One negative - no wifi, only computer in lobby. Try the bagel place across the street - it's excellent too.

Very reasonably priced for the space of the room. Nothing fancy here, just good basics nothing too comfortable, nothing too uncomfortable. Very convenient to Essex Expo. An easy couple mins ride to Burlington and about 30 mins from Stowe. Nice bagel and coffee joint across the street!

Two senior couples travelling through from Lindsay Ont. Canada to Canadian Maritimes. Suites were so spacious and well appointed. Pleasant staff , and good restaurant just a few steps away. Terrific value.Would be perfect for a small family. Would definetly stay here again.
