Hotel Chateau Chamonix - Georgetown

Great breakfast, unique rooms, awesome bed, beautiful location, friendly staff.

We booked our reservations at the last minute and couldn't remember this hotel in Georgetown, but had to make a reservation somewhere. What a wonderful surprise! We will definitely be back. Fabulous service, very clean, romantic with fireplace. The owners have provided every comfort you can imagine. Loved the telescope to look for wildlife!

We stayed at the Chateau Chamonix for only one evening and were disappointed to leave. The staff was wonderful, the quality of the building and rooms were lovingly attended to, and not a detail was spared. The care that the owners take in running this boutique hotel is evident immediately- the lobby and our room were immaculately clean, and perfectly […] arranged. This is an absolutely charming hotel that leaves nothing to be desired. The front desk reception was extremely helpful (presumably the owners), and took time to make sure we had everything we needed, and how to work the fireplace, coffee maker and hot tub. We plan to stay here again- the only reason the rates are reasonable must be presumably because of it's lesser-known location. You will love it. Les mer

Never knew Georgetown had such a nice place. We really enjoyed. Wish it had it's own eatery of the same quality.

This was our second stay at this property. By far the free breakfast was the high point. It's so nice to wake up to the smell of fresh baked croissants in the morning! This is a nice property and the rooms are clean and comfortable. We stayed in an upstairs room on the creek-side of the property. Since we were there during the winter it took a little […] while to warm up the room when we checked in. It has radiant floor heat and a gas fireplace so it got plenty warm it just took a long time maybe an hour or more. We didn't use the hot tub since it was really windy while we there but it looked nice. We were in town to drive on the Georgetown Lake so the location was really convenient. We ate at Trioa's in town which I can highly recommend. The Euro Grill is another good restaurant right down the road. In fact the only negative was the couple in the next room. They argued all night and then woke up at 6am and started arguing again. It was pretty loud and in fact they even banged on the wall at one point. I tried to play some music to drown them out but it was still very audible. I probably should have complained to the front desk but didn't want to risk a confrontation with an already agitated couple. Needless to say we didn't get much sleep due to their obnoxious behavior. I wish more hotels would take into account noise transmission between rooms. But don't let this keep you from staying here, it's a really nice place and well run. Les mer

Intimate hotel with great service and continental breakfast,close to great skiing,nice setting.

We had a wonderful time at this Inn, the people were so nice and the view was breath taking. we will definately be back

Wonderful accomadations, very friendly service, gave us diferent options to the rooms, after we checked in.

This hotel is good, but not great. They are trying very hard to be upscale and they provide with breakfast in the morning that is pretty poor attempt at french pastries, but they are trying hard. The ammenities are good, clean, updated. The reviews that complain about it being near the highway made me laugh becuause everything in Georgetown is in earshot […] of the highway! With the window open, and the nice little cute creek flowing, you don't hear the creek, so I would not worry about that being an issue. We stayed here one night and then another B&B (for the same price) the next night becuase this place was full. We enjoyed the B&B more, but the ammenities were less (breakfast was much better); it's just a trade-off. One thing we did not know was that you had to be at the hotel by 10 pm to get in the lobby to get "informed" and we were coming in from our flight late. It was a good thing we arrived just in time to get informed of the hotel details (how to enter, get your passcode, where to enter after hours, etc.) before we could find food at the only place open for dinner at that time of night. Perfectly good place, would not stay again solely becuase we would go to the B&B's again next time again. But if the B&B's are filled (most have only 3 rooms in them), I would stay here again. It seems much nicer than the motel-like accomodations you have to choose from instead!!!! Enjoy! Les mer

Hotel Chateau Chamonix is everything a boutique hotel should. It has only 10 rooms, each decorated differently, and the rooms have every amenity one could wish for. The management treats each guest as a visitor in a private home. All things considered, the price was very reasonable.

We came in for the Georgetown-Idaho Springs half marathon. Service and room were both wonderful. Staff extremely friendly and helpful. Would recommend without any hesitation. I-70 noise a little loud, but that is the case with almost all of the towns around there. Thanks for such a great stay!!!

The hotel was beautiful and the accomdations were great. We only had one thing that needed to be not said... The owner Tom, made a comment that did not set well with us.

This was a great place to stay. The hotel was nice, the room was nice, it was right off the river with gorgeous mountains views all around, you got breakfast brought to your room. My only two complaints 1. check out was at 11am (I wanted to hang out longer!) and 2. breakfast wasn't much (some fruit and a crescent). But overall, they place and our stay […] was awesome! Les mer

Super romantic ambiance! We got the room facing the river and it was well worth the price! It is super posh, the owners are great and very accommodating. Delish warm croissants and fruit for breakfast delivered to your room. Nice little town...easy access to nearby towns. Loved it!!

We found this european chalet type hotel just fabulous. Even the little touches were well thought out. The hotel owner is gracious and understands customer service. The location is right off the highway, which makes it convenient for travel through Colorado. Much better than the chain hotels and motels you find along the way. This was one of the most enjoyable hotels we have ever experienced. Coming from Florida to visit family, we were first in awe of the beautiful scenery and surrounding mountains. The hotel is exactly as it's name suggests - a lovely French chateau in the mountains. The owners, Marie Claude & Tom, are the most gracious and accommodating hosts you could […] meet. They take great care in keeping the hotel immaculate and making their guests feel welcome. We stayed in the upstairs room overlooking the magnificent Clear Creek. Beautiful French doors opened to our patio overlooking the creek and mountains. The creek was really running fast and listening to the rushing water as we slept was wonderful. The hotel room is very quaint with beautiful furniture, a lovely fireplace, a super clean bathroom with beautiful tile & high end L'Occitane bath products, and a very comfortable king size bed. The espresso machine was a great touch as we love good coffee in the morning and the usual coffee makers in most hotels just don't cut it. As I read in a previous review (but didn't really believe), I actually woke up to the smell of freshly baking croissants! The fresh croissants, freshly squeezed orange juice, and lovely fresh fruit was delivered to the little box in our room - and boy was it delicious! We were greeted by Tom who showed us around and made us feel very comfortable. I have ready in other reviews about the fact that it is located right off of I-70, but honestly did not hear any traffic at all. The parking was very convenient and it's a small town, so there really isn't much traffic. With the balcony being in the back of the hote overlooking the creek, we felt as though we were in another world anyway. We only spent one night, but managed to see everything. We visited the Georgetown Loop Railroad - less than 5 minutes away - in the afternoon. We took the short drive to the town and had lunch at the Happy Cooker and sat outside and enjoyed a veggie burger and chips - very good. Les mer

Lovely hotel with mix of Southwestern and country France interior. Service and amenities excellent: French wine served to guests in well-appointed 2nd story communal room in afternoon; fresh baked croissants and brioches delivered to private wall box in own room in morning. Owner born and lived much of her live in France; greeted us personally at front […] desk; conversed in French when we asked her to. Though the hotel's immediate location leaves something to be desired--adjacent to I-70, so view from front lobby is not appealing--the rear-facing rooms overlook the Rockies that frame the former mining town of Georgetown. Just spent one night here while traveling for work in Colorado. Great small hotel, outstanding service (fresh croissants prepared for you each morning), nicely appointed rooms. Only downside is this is a very small town so very few options for dining or nightlife.

Everything about our stay at the Hotel Chateau Chamonix was just wonderful. The rooms are beautiful and the whole operation is first class. We are already making plans to go back for our anniversary.

We were very pleased with our recent stay at the Hotel Chateau Chamonix. The hotel was very lovely and beautifully decorated in a French country style down to the very last detail. The amenities were all new. The walk in shower with steam was wonderful. The room was very clean, with WiFi, cable, Dolce Gusto Single-Serve Coffee Machine, robes and extra […] towels a plus. Breakfast was served in the morning right to our room! The owners were very pleasant and very helpful. The Hotel Chamonix was a pleasant surprise, the accommodation is of the highest standard and comfort, and the French influences, provided by the female half of the host partnership, are evident throughout, attention is paid to the smallest detail, the in-room coffee maker is a real delight, the linen in the bedroom is crisp and highest quality, lighting […] ambient, and a very pleasant welcome on arrival. We had a wonderful overnight stay! The room was very well appointed with a gas fireplace and a comfortable bed with lovely linen, and we had a balcony overlooking the river. We awoke the next morning to a fabulous breakfast of freshly baked croissants, fruit, fresh squeezed orange juice and coffee which were delivered to our room. We also received a […] lovely complimentary glass of wine when we checked in. The bathroom was very modern and contained high end supplies like L'Occataine soap. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed shopping in all of the nearby shops. Georgetown is a lovely little mountain village that's within easy access to Denver and it's just a short hop to get to Keystone and other well known ski destinations. We will definitely stay at this bed and breakfast again whenever we return to Colorado. It was a delightful surprise. Honestly, we enjoyed it more than the Marriott Mountain Resort in Vail. Les mer
