This hotel is grand almost like a compound. It takes a day to find everything. Check-in was extremely slow but the front desk staff was very nice. Isola is the best restaurant. The hotel was fabulous! It was very clean. The staff was cleaning all day long. The only downfall is that every day we had to ask for wash cloths. I don't know why we didn't get them everyday. But other than that it was a great experience. The weather was the only other downfall. It was very very windy which made the beach water very rough and sand […] blowing in your face. it was my second time in punta cana and the best one hotel was clean prompt service and lots of amenites to enjoy still lacking may be more sport like soccer my son missed . theatre may need some improvement but it is the best so far

This is an all-inclusive hotel. The rooms are amazing and is the beach, The dining is so-so, but its inclusive. The drinks are good too. They sometimes offer free credits to spend in their store, this is a scam so beware!

I've been to quite a few weekends at Dominican All inclusives as I've been working as a teacher here - HRH Is a little more expensive than some of the other hotels around- but its worth it. Staff are great - genuinely friendly and accomplished. Rooms are beautiful, spacious- walk in showers feature two shower heads and are massive, beds soft - nice […] size hot-tubs in each room. There are about 9 restaurants- the steak house, and japanese are superb- the buffet is excellent- I didn't have time to go to more but there are great bars,coffee shops, ice cream parlour and little shops all over the main lobby area. The Nightclub attracts some top Dj's- David Guetta is there on the 30th december The ambience of the Casino is amazing- def worth a visit even if you don't gamble. Pools- there are 14? i diddn't see them all- the place is massive - but there are different pools for a different crowd- I was at the pool with a swim up bar and a live band playing rock tunes :) but there are quiet pools too and a kids slide and pool area. The beach area is nice- plenty of space and deck chairs- the area is around Macao where the caribbean meets the Atlantic- there are a lot of waves- if you want calm sea take an excursion to Isla Saona -via Palmilla - an area where the water is crystal clear and shallow- and its great for the turquoise water if you've been dreaming about that - What did I leave out? The decor is typically Hard Rock you'll def feel pretty special after a stay here. Les mer

Very good place to get out of day to day work life and relax. Like to runn around the hotel everyday and take a rest in the pool drinking. A good combination of quite area and exciting activities around just to look and appreciate

Generally a fun family vacation. The overall decor and vibe are positive, it's a fun, high energy resort. Pools are great and the beach is awesome. On the negative, I can't help but compare this place to Moon Palace in Cancun, and there, it just doesnt match at all. Apart from Zen and Toro, the food is just awful. The only thing to eat out by the pools […] are stale chips with curdled cheese and soggy chicken fingers. The golf course itself is top notch, but the club house is a shack and course service is non existent. The wine is below expectations, and that's assuming it's bad to begin with. Tacking a service fee on the resort credits is just being cheap. A lot of what you get isn't even worth the percent you pay on it. Kids club was pretty good, but only in short durations and if there were other kids to play with. Otherwise your kids will tire of it quickly. We had a good time overall, but wont be going back. To be fair, the place clearly caters to the 25-35 crowd, and us older, family types are bound to be disappointed by the quality of service and activities, though moon palace managed to do so much where hard rock falls short. The fountains all over were empty and under unannounced maintenance. The stairways, which you eventually have to use for lack of well situated elevators, are deplorable. It rained and it floods all over, not only outside but most of the room hallways. The food is below average compared to other hotel in Bavaro. Great location, beach , variety of activities, pools and restaurants. Poor room service, severely limited at the first drop of rain. Poor coordination between departments - reception, bell boys, room cleaning, as i got transferred 4 times before speaking to someone for getting help to transfer luggage, left waiting for the promised help for 3h before […] having to call again...In addition, they organized a 5 day highschool conference at the hotel for 1500 students who partied, shouted and ran around the floors until 2 am each night transforming the place into a true campus experience. It is so huge. Have to take a tram to the beach and pools or walk and it is a long walk. This hotel is fabulous!!! Food ia delicious and there is a great variety of good food. Staff is friendly and very helpful. The cleanliness is spectacular in all areas including the pool restrooms. Very relaxing atmosphere! Definitely a place to come back to. It is worth every penny..:)

I am afraid this hotel is way too big and as a result the quality of the experience is not what I was expecting. waiting in line for an hour to have a meal is crazy!!! One can not make reservations in any of the restaurants so I always felt that I was wearing for food at a shelter. There was no one onsite to help with the difficulties we experienced through Expedia. But the food was good and the staff were very helpful. There is 16% tax on Resort credits which are a bit of a joke. But I would take my family there again.

I recommend staying in a positive frame of mind, for if you are looking for flaws, you will certainly find them. For example, the food. I had researched the resort for months prior to our stay, so we knew the suishi in Zen was going to be great. We ate at this restaurant for most of the trip. Best suishi we ever had. Although, you must sit at the suishi […] bar, not the hibachi table. Abel, Marvin, Jose(aka baby) and Winsten, will entertain you all night long. Give them a nice tip, and they will go out of their way to make specialty rolls galore. We loved the tuna and salmon sashimi. Incredible! We did have hibachi, because it looked like so much fun, but it wasn't as tasty as the suishi Make sure you go to EDEN! Again if you give a tip, Emilio will go out of his way for your entire trip. Watch out though, the drinks at Eden are "real". they are very strong. The mojitos were better than Miami. Eden is great daytime entertainment. The people can get a little crazy and funny. There are floating beds, and hammocks, along with tons of chairs. If you prefer Eden from other pools, definitely wake up early, leave your towel or book in your favorite spot, and come back later. If you prefer not to partake in the action, people watching can be just as fun! If you can... pay extra for concierge. You will receive the best treatment, best location of rooms, and best service. Our butler, Cesarin, brought us champagne and fruit or cheese every night. Great experience and we will be back!! Les mer

poor service, very boring, no lobby bar, no disco, everything was extremely over priced. food was not good, overcrowded small pools. Would not recommend this hotel, needs a lot of improvement. no shaded areas near pools. Mostly horrible service.

rooms are fantastic. the grounds are too large and hard to get around. the staff says i dont know to everything and the food was ok. this hotel was also situated on the atlantic side and the water wasnt as great as the Caribbean side. also everything in this hotel including tours and taxis were more expensive than other hotels or the street. being it […] was the hard rock and people paid more to stay there they took advantage of it. beware of the 1500 dollar credit. its a joke and dosent include anything. its also hard to get what you want and you have to waste 3 hours waiting for someone to help you even set it up. the only amazing thing about it all was the spa. everything was covered. it was too bad we couldnt use the credit for the spa the whole time. also we did the moon riders tour and they said we were going to the "jungle" it was right across the street in unkept land and the anmials that we saw were from people leaving in the area. terrible tour. We were there with 4 adults and 2 little kids. The property is a mega resort that markets as an upscale all-inclusive but in fact caters to "spring break" type of demographic. The best two elements are the beach and the rooms. The food is terrible!! Only decent places are the "Italian" and "Japanese" but the bar is set very low. This place managed to […] screw up fried eggs and other basic food groups... Fruit is terrific and so is ice cream. Be ready to loose some weight! The service of staff (other then cleaning stuff that was very good and helpful) is average to below. Pools are nice if you could take spring break out of it. If not, the pools are infested with drunken youth all day long and music blasting. Kids's pools are very nice and fun for kids under 10. Overall, there are many better options for the $$ with better food and much better service. Not a place where we would go again. Les mer

We were given Rock Star treatment at this amazing hotel and loved it. Pros - The facilities were amazing and there were a lot of food/pool/activity options. Our room happened to be right by the Carribean restaurant and pool, and not far from the beach. The service was spectacular. I think the European pool was probably the nicest pool there... very […] grown and sexy but scarcely used -- probably because it was a little isolated and maybe some are turned off by others being topless. Great access to the beach. Most of the food was good (I did have a few moments where I didn't enjoy something, but I just went and got something else). There was liquor on tap in the rooms. All you have to do is call the lobby if you want the bar restocked. Cons - It is so large that you have to take a trolley to get around, but they come pretty frequently so it wasn't too much of a turn off. You have to pay to even enter the spa. We went to the restaurant "Market" one night for seafood night and hated everything I ate. The dessert at all of the restaurants left something to be desired. While I had a few "amazing food moments, overall the food was average to good. All in all -- I would definitely stay at the Hard Rock again. Les mer
