Rhett House Inn - Beaufort

This hotel is in a lovely old house with big porch, high ceilings and a graceful staircase, all beautifully decorated to enhance its history and authenticity. We loved it - there is nothing fussy or overdone, just elegant and simple. I think breakfast on the porch in late November was our best 'happy moment' in Rhett House. Lovely service and fluffy […] pancakes, fresh juices, and different options each morning, we felt spoiled and contented. There are many extras on offer, though we weren't hungry enough to try them all, but we borrowed beach chairs and towels for a lazy sit on the beach at Hunting Island. The hotel is within v. easy walking distance of Bay Street, galleries, shops and restaurants (Saltus River Grill was outstanding) and the walk along the waterfront. Friendly staff, good food and location. Tired facilities... charming but basic. Sorely needs updating. Stayed two nights; room not serviced after first night. Unfavorable price/value for sure.

The best B & B in Beaufort!

This charming B&B is right near the waterfront in Beaufort. There are even complementary bikes to ride around town. The service is very good as well, offering homemade desserts in the after dinner hours.

First, there is not much to do or see in Beaufort. I was there for business for a day, and took my wife and decided to stay here since I thought it would be better than doing a hotel. Turns out I was right! The owners were super friendly. Evening cheese and fruit was nice. dessert and coffee in the evening was really neat too. The room (I was in the […] main house) was very nice opening to a wrap around porch with a hammock and chairs overlooking lots of old oak trees and moss. It was very neat. The following morning, breakfast was served. It was actually nice enough to sit outside on the porch and enjoy our breakfast, and the staff was very friendly and attentive. My only complaint would be as someone else already mentioned - there is no A/C control in the room. Since this is an old house, it is controlled centrally in the house. Fortunately our room had a ceiling fan, and a floor fan, and that seemed to keep us cool enough. My wife enjoyed it enough the she said she'd like to go back and stay again when we had more time. Comfortable, quiet and convenient. Walking distance to nice restaurants, shops and waterfront park.

Great location for exploring the town. Breakfast was Southern traditional in the lovely dining room with individual tables. My husband loved the Grits and was given the recipe. Afternoon cookies and tea, earlier evening crackers and cheese and dessert later in the evening were all a pleasant surprise They even had a cash bar set up if you did not BYOB. […] At first, I was a little disappointed our room was not in the main house. But the short walk across the street from the small cottage over to the main house to enjoy the house’s ambiance worked out ok. I’d recommend the Inn and a visit to Beaufort, SC. Les mer
