This is a great place to stay in the Quartier des Spectacles. The outside isn't much, it's above a sex store, but the rooms are beautiful and newly renovated. Definitely more than we were expecting. We were in Montreal for a music festival and many of the bands and DJs were staying there as well. We picked this hotel for budget and proximity to the […] venue, but we loved the ambiance and the lovely rooms. Carole at the front desk was amazing, so friendly and helpful. You won't regret staying here! Just to note: if you don't like stairs, book one of the lower floors, but if you're in decent shape, the stairs are not a problem at all. And make sure to get one of the "superior" rooms. There are some older rooms with shared baths, not for everyone. But the newer side has private baths and exposed brick walls. Better than some expensive boutique hotels I've stayed in. I highly recommend this hotel. Les mer

at first I was disapiontted, then soon realized that it was a very convenietly located hotel, sure it didn't have all the bells and whistles, but the staff were great and I would use the same hotel again!

Great place and very friendly service. Nice rooms. Only drawback is the noise from the street. Other than that it's a fine choice!

I had a lovely evening at this hotel-the atmosphere was great...it was very close to where my meeting was and the only downfall is the neighbourhood but I overlooked that...

It's on a fairly seedy intersection of Rue Ste Catherine (ie - a mini 'red light' district) but still so close to the main part of downtown that for the price it is so worth it, and it never felt unsafe. A busy area, so could get quite noisy, but the air con worked well so we could keep the windows closed even though it was warm weather. We had a 'basic' […] room but it was spacious, clean and well-equipped and included a sink, and the bathroom (shared with other rooms but private) over the hall was always clean. A lot more character than a normal budget chain hotel, highly recommended for a more economic stay in Montreal. NB - it is over several floors and there are no lifts (that we could see). Les mer

Keep in mind, this is an old style travellers hotel - bathrooms are shared, and it's old and creaky. But fun! As well, this hotel does not qualify for hotels.com frequent stay points!

I stayed at this hotel with a friend to spend a night in the city to go out to a club. The staff was really great, bilingual, and very friendly. Our room was very nice and clean and was in the new part of the hotel and was very satisfactory. I would recommend this hotel very highly. For the price I was very pleased. It is right across from a 24hr Bell […] Province and don't be fooled by the few sex shops the neighbourhood was fine and nothing to be worried about. There is no parking but it is easy to find some parking on the street. For sure a great overall stay and would 100% go back! Les mer

My Boyfriend and I went to Montreal to go bar-hoping and clubbing at night. This hotel was in the perfect location for this. Right in the middle of the city and is surrounded by the hottest spots. The hotel was a perfect place for a one, maybe two night stay. It's a great price for what you get and where it is located. Everyone was helpful and nice […] who worked there. There is no doubt that I would stay there if I were ever to go to Montreal again. I recommend it definitely, but if you're looking for a 4 star hotel you wouldnt like this one. We stayed at this hotel from June 30th to July 2nd, 2011 and we really enjoyed our stay. Satff was very curtious and helpfull with all our question!! I do recommend this spot if you like a fast paste environment and great service!! The only thing I kind of disliked is that they didn't have a small fridge and a coffee maker in the rooms! I stayed at the Abri Du Voyageur during a short trip to Montreal and it was last minute reservation a friend and I made that morning. It was inexpensive, the staff was friendly and helpful, the location was within walking distance to great shopping and nightlife and the facility was clean and safe. The hotel was in a seedy part of town, but was clean and quaint. Very enjoyable stay, would definitely book here again. Not suitable for young children (located in between two sex shops and multiple strip clubs), but great for the young traveler. Except for a few stains on the comforter, room was very clean and comfortable and the bathrooms were spotless. […] Very friendly bilingual staff. Rates were very reasonable, great for traveling on a budget. Parking was the only issue we had with the hotel. Its seems like a rough area of Montreal, but its actually not so bad. The hotel itself is well run. Sure, its in mid-renovation, but for the price, you can't beat it.

Hôtel qui bénéficie d'une très bonne situation en plein centre,proche de la vie nocturne donc très, très bruyant,car mauvaise insonorisation .Qualité de l'accueil fluctuant suivant la personne allant de très sympathique à franchement désagréable. Pas très cher pour Montréal: on en a pour son argent!
