The location was perfect! Room was spacious and clean. People were friendly and helpful! Will definitely return. Also very flexible when canceling last night.

The hotel was in a great location, very charming, clean, and had a friendly staff. I'd recommend the hotel with one condition: that guests insist on a top floor room. We stayed in a bottom level room and the floors in the room above were so squeaky we could hear EVERY step from the people above. This could easily have ruined the experience, but in our […] case the people upstairs were sleeping/out of the room most of the time. This hotel is small with zero amenities but a great location and very charming. The rooms were great although you can't see the ocean from the room itself. You have step out on the balcony for the ocean view. They charge for parking which we weren't aware of until we checked out. Overall nice place.

This is a small hotel with an unimposing 50's look on the outside. It is directly across from the beach. Our room had an amazing view as did most of the rooms. Our room was BEAUTIFUL- very large and comfortable with the BEST linens (must have had a 600+ thread count). Breakfast was granola or high quality pastries with good coffee and juice. Ok, other than the kind of thin walls and the fact that there's no desk service between 10p-8a. . its perfect. The room is clean and comfy, the view is as beautiful as it can be and parking is great for the area. You're a block away from the museum of modern art, and close to everything you need. Very charming and a beautiful view of the ocean. The power went out twice and supposedly it was due to someone using a certain kind of hair dryer- the electrical wiring needs to be updated to avoid this unnecessary inconvenience.

Enjoyed our stay from beginning to end. Very friendly and helpful staff. Location is fantastic. Had breakfast each morning at a picnic table overlooking the Pacific. Sound of the surf and the warm sun, what a way to start each day.

upside: You are on the water. downside: If the surf is up it can get loud at night

Great facility, with a very quaint look from the outside. But the rooms are up to date with wooden flooring and flat TVs. The biggest things for us was location. It was right opposite the beach on La Jolla. You can go for a stroll on the beach or to the shopping areas of La Jolla quickly. The Inn is really a wonderful place to get away for the weekend. The location is terrific. It is right next to the Ocean and a short walk to all of the great restaurants and shopping in La Jolla. If you have the chance, stay here!!!

Took my boyfriend out to la jolla as a suprise for his birthday and our anniversary! We loved the hotel and the great view of the ocean and how close it was to the local shopping and dining. The room was so much more then expected and The staff was super friendly/helpful! We would Go their again and tell our friends about it.

This hotel was sooo perfectly located, right in front of the ocean/cove and within walking distance from downtown La Jolla. From check in to check out this hotel was amazing! I am PICKY about hotels, and rarely leave reviews, but this place needs a special shout out!!! I believe it is classified as a bed and breakfast, but it is very modern/beachy inside...no silly wallpaper or shared bathrooms. There are hardwood floors, a super comfy bed that rivals the W. Our room had […] a fridge, coffee maker, dining table, blow dryer, aveda toiletries, plenty of towels and a great robe. A BIG flat screen TV with all the channels you could want. The bed and breakfast vibe comes into play with the large shared patio perfect for enjoying coffee and a (included) continental breakfast, which includes pastries fresh from the bakery, juices, coffee, and a great granola mixture. The mugs are adorable (I bought two for $10). Your car is right outside, and the outside looks like a cute beach cottage. The (small) grounds are immaculate and CLEAN! Outside our door was a small porch and we were literally steps from the beach. For those of you unfamiliar with La Jolla...the beach is basically under a bluff, so there is not sand right in front of the hotel, but just a few steps down some stairs and you are there. The weather in La Jolla seems to stay fairly overcast (traveled in October) where as the weather burns off quickly in other parts of San Diego. Prospect street is full of places to eat drink and shop...The crowds are low key and laid back. Eat breakfast at the Cottage! YUM! The staff was amazing and the front desk called for a car when we needed a ride to a concert at night. The car rates were reasonable and the drivers were excellent. We loved our room. We arrived in town on time for our kayaking trip and did not arrive at the room until after check in time. We were cold and wet, but check in was a breeze and we headed to our room for a nice, warm shower before dinner. What a beautiful surprise when we opened our door! This was a great, romantic little getaway!

The room was very comfortable and clean. The staff was very friendly and helpful, and you couldn't beat the locations. It's amazing sleeping with the sounds of the ocean coming through the window. I highly recommend this hotel.

We had jsut one night at Scripps Inn but wished it was much more. The Inn provided an intamacy and friendliness unlike any other stay we have recently had in Southern California. We look forward to staying with them again in the future. Don't miss out on the local stops and stoles along the beach.

We just loved it. It was relaxing, the beach was right across the street, and probably the best shopping and dining experience around. Can't say enough. Thank you.

My girlfriend and I stayed here and it was amazing, we were close to the beach, the room was amazing! It was well maintained and was made well. It's close to the strip were the art galleries were and restaurants too..I would definitely go back and stay here again...

Awesome and delightful. A lovely place to get away and hear the ocean as I slept.

This rather unimpressive on the outside small hotel is paradise for both the rooms and the location. Just out the door is an idyllic vista of the Pacific, complete with seals, sea lions, and lovely park. For those who like to shop or gallery hop, the museum is only a block up the hill, and from there all of the galleries, shops, and restaurants follow. […] The room was contemporary, artistic, very spacious, and with a heating system (you will probably need it in February) that was easy to regulate without draft. It is a perfect hotel for a romatic getaway with your sweetie! Right on the ocean and it is so cute inside. The outside I was nervous for because no pictures are shown but it is super cute and beachy! Would stay here again for sure.

Located across the street from the ocean, within easy walking distance of downtown La Jolla, but in a pleasant, quiet neighborhood. Staff were very friendly and helpful, room was comfortable and recently renovated . Good continental breakfast, especially the granola made at their sister location. We'll be back.

Hotel was a little dated but clean, comfortable, and quiet. Staff was very pleasant and accommodating. Our room had a partial view of the ocean which was just fine. They had a nice little deck with tables and chairs and a walk by the beach was just across the street. Went to sleep listening to the sounds of the breakers. Only complaints... very high […] sinks and peep hole (I'm short). Only one mirror in the room. Room key and door a little tricky-2 key holes and 1 key. Room refrigerator partially blocked use of 2nd sink. Les mer

Right on the beach, you can hear the waves, and the room was very nice. I liked it, it was just what I needed.

The walls are very thin and I could hear next door having a conversion. When I checked out, the lady who helped me didn't have a smile and was not pleasant. I had forgot that breakfast was complimentary and she didn't say help yourself to some pastries. She was just plain rude.

Un hotel muy confortable, con una situacion excelente. Muy comodo el aparcamiento en la puerta, aunque no quedaba claro que el coste no estaba incluido en el precio de la habitacion. Muy recomendable.
