flott hotell,men tok litt tid til å varme rommet etter ankomst., Betalte for frokost første dagen men oppdaget at det var ingen vanlig pålegg som ost , kjøttpålegg, eller kokte egg.Det var kun typisk engelsk frokost og litt kornflakes produkter.Det er kanskje greit for engelskmenn , men litt overraskende for oss som kommer fra utlandet.

Enkelt standard , men greit , rent, veldig hyggelig personall. Det viktigste er at den er sentralt og lett å komme til , flybuss og buss til togstasjonen i nærheten

"Big Sleep in Cardiff"
The hotel is extremely convenient to Cardiff city centre shops restaurants and theatres, all staff were extremely pleasant and helpful. Rooms were clean and tidy, but showing their age a bit. Beds were clean and comfortable, breakfast in the morning was ace. I would recommend staying here.
"strange atmosphere"
Checked into hotel, staff pleasant, location great but room/hotel just had a very strange atmosphere that I knew I would never get any sleep, and so I went and stayed at another hotel near by instead. Have never left a hotel before, and have stayed in quite a cross section of establishments, but this one was just wierd!
"Big Sleep - chance would be a fine thing"
Room was very tatty, the small heater on the wall did not work so the room was very cold, numerous fittings broken, bed not made properly, hole in sheet, wafer thin duvet, breakfast incredibly basic, the dubious clientele next door held a party in their room 4.30-7.30am. Reception staff were helpful and did ask said guests to keep the noise down, which […] had no effect whatsoever. I know it's cheap but you expect some basic comforts... Les mer
"The Bad Sleep"
This hotel used to be one of the best budget hotels in Cardiff with a modern sleek feel. Sadly this isn't the case any longer. The hotel is run down and in need of a refurbishment, also my room was a twin double the one bed looked as though the sheets hadn't been changed, hairs and stains on the sheets. The carpet was dirty and looked like it had blood […] or make up stains on it. The room was cold and quite noisey lots of drunken students heading to their student halls building which is situated just oposite. The bathroom was run down but clean. Was offered a breakfast to go as I was checking out early but it didn't turn up. I strongly wouldn't recommend this Hotel any longer. Les mer

Excellent location.....clean and tidy...nothing fancy or luxury, just simple and cheap....can't go wrong. Will definitely stay here again
"Big Sleep in Cardiff City Centre"
We stayed here four years ago and knew it was basic but standards have gone down and it was dirty, poorly furnished and badly serviced. There were not enough car parking spaces and we were sent down the road without being told the machine there would only take pound coins so had to come all the way back. Then we tried to book in at ten to three but […] were told we had to wait until three, despite the fact that we'd sat in the hotel carpark over half an hour waiting for a space without success, had two trips to the off-site car park and were two middle aged women carting more luggage than we could handle. The room was grubby - the curtains were disgusting and the towels looked as though they'd been used and washed for ten years! The flush only worked intermittently. The bed creaked. It was unbearably warm as there were no windows to open, though there was a fan on the wall which helped. The rubbish bin hadn't been emptied - we had only two pillows and had to ask for extra (which we did get without any problems, to be honest). Only one lift was working and the place was full so there was a huge wait every time we needed to get up and down and it cranked and creaked it's way through all 9 floors, stopping at every one every time, even though it hadn't been called. The carpets were very dirty. The breakfast was quite good but there were no knives to butter the bread and when we asked for some we had to wait for ages and could see the man in the kitchen washing and wiping just one! He then came out and was very poorly dressed with a shrunken tee-shirt not covering his very large, flabby stomach which hung over his trousers - it was not the most appealing sight whilst eating! He and the other staff there were very polite, though. The staff at reception looked tired and as though they just couldn't be bothered. The bed sheets were nice and crisp and clean and it looked like there was a new shower curtain in the bathroom, but apart from those two things, we have nothing good t Les mer

"Very close to Cardiff Arena"
Fine for an overnight stay if attending a concert at the Cardiff Arena as just across the road. Parts of the hotel were being painted which unfortunately meant only one lift was working and at peak times meant waiting awhile as we were on the 9th floor. On arrival we were upgraded and had a larger room with super views over Cardiff centre & the Bay. The […] twin room was fine just needs a couple of changes - we didn't like the fluffy beige curtains & the fan on the wall didn't work but a smaller desk fan had been placed in the room for us to use instead. The self service breakfast was OK. For a saturday night stay in Cardiff this hotel was value for money, and very convenient to the station & Arena. Les mer

I was pleasantly suprized by this hotel -especially after reading some poor reviews. yes -it a little run down but it was clean and the staff were really pleasent and helpful. the breakfast couldnt be faulted. If you want great value in the city centre book there, if you want to paymore and have a few more service then dont -but i think the poor reviews […] are written by people who are use to highed grade hotels. "Cardiff Bargain"
My stay at the Big Sleep was a nice surprise. The hotel had big rooms and while they have not been maintained well, it was still very comfortable. The location made it easy to return during the day to drop off items purchased or for a quick refresher. The continental breakfast was minimal but did its job. Fine accommodation for the price paid.

Brilliant location in cardiff, right opposite the international arena- which is where i was heading that evening to watch westlife. The reception and rooms were modern and clean which was nice to see and made us feel more at ease - as you never know for sure what a place is going to be like until you've been there!! The only complaint i have is that […] the lift did not feel very safe as it sounded like it scrapped against something when reaching the 7th floor, it was a little frightening, however there are stairs if this does make you a little uneasy. the room was tidy and simple with a bed, bathroom with sink toilet and shower/bath which was all clean. There was a Tv with freeview in the room also which was good. The only thing that might have been nice to have in the room would have been a kettle with tea and coffee. The bedding was clean and smelt fresh, and when the curtains in the room were closed the room was extremely cosy and warm. An electric heater was provided in case it was cold but we did not need this as the room was perfect temperature. Overall the stay was good and i would return to the big sleep again :) Les mer
