Vi ankom dette fine hotellet hvor vi ble tatt godt i mot at godt engelsktalenede resepsjonister. Rommet lå helt perfekt til i 12.etasje med flott utsikt over gamlebyen i Istanbul og ut mot det Gyldne Horn Rommene var rene og veldholdte..Frokosten var innholdsrik,sunn og god. Det beste med hotellet var uten tvil den flotte ustikten og baren med restaurant MIkla på toppen. Noe flottere enn dette skal man lete lenge etter. Beliggenheten var også midt i smørøyet med nærhet til det meste. Dette er et hotell vi vil anbefale alle som reiser til Istanbul å benytte seg av. Helt topp!

Meget god beliggenhet, kort gangavstand til både Grand Basar og Blå Moske/Aya Sofia/Top Kapi samt restarantområdene på sjøsiden av Blå Moske og i nærheten av Sisternen. Hyggelig service, men problemer med betalingssystemet siste dag (gjaldt hele området). Rommet var lite og litt "slitent". Støy kan nok forekomme , men plaget ikke oss. Lite trafikk i nærmeste gate. Hotellet totalt sett er heller tre stjerner enn fire, men internett var inkludert og fungerte. Det var helt klart verdt den moderate prisen vi betalte ,men ikke det man søker om man skal unne seg noe ekstra.

Beliggenhet og hotellet var veldig greit, - bortsett fra rommet. Det var "knøtt lite". Vanskelig for to personer å bevege seg og det var ikke noe sted å sitte bortsett fra sengen. Vi fant ikke igjen rommet fra bilder i presentasjonen

"Et billig og sentralt hotell"
Et sentralt beliggende hotel til en billig penge. Er ikke helt fornøyd med fasilitetene i fohold til beskrivelsen. Rommene var slitne og det hadde jeg ikke forventet når det står renovert i 2006. Trådløst internett, ja, men veldig tilfeldig når og hvor det virket. Jeg hadde endel arbeid jeg skulle gjøre på hotellet men måtte gi opp pga.ustabil internett […] tilgang. Det var også en overraskelse at jeg ble avkrevd 20 USD for å ta jacuzzi og sauna når jeg oppfatter hotellbeskrivelsen som om dette er inkludert. Det står nok ikke direkte men det er lett å oppfatte det slik. Ellers bar hotellet preg av å være gammelt og ha en gammeldags stil. Men tilslutt; et greit og sentralt beliggende hotell til en billig penge bare man tar forbehold om at beskrivelsen kanskje ikke er helt utdypende. Les mer
"Dårlig inneklima på rom og dårlig bad"
Hotellet ligger i fin gangavstand til grand bazar og til sentrum, hotellpersonalet er hyggelig og frokosten er god. Vi sjekket tidlig inn første dag, og fikk frokost samme dag som vi sjekket inn gratis. Dette er god service. Standarden på rommet er grei, men badet har etter min oppfatning for lav standard, og dusjen virket skitten/ uhygenisk. "Hotel Buyuk Keban - perfect for the price."
Rooms very nice and clean also with air conditioning. They have free wireless internet too which was really convenient. I can recommend this hotel to all that will have a nice and cheap stay in Istanbul.

I booked this hotel as last minute choice within reasonable budget and location. The location is really good but the hotel is average and hence is fine as a 3 star. The room was very small and the hotel refused to switch on the AC with the reason that the temperature outside was low (but it could get little hot in the room during the day). This was really strange for me, However, the buffet B/F was reasonable (although it was same all the 4 days I was there) and the hotel staff was fine. "Hotel Buyuk Keban - full of atmosphere"
We spent two weeks here to explore Istanbul thoroughly and were the only Brits the whole time. A busy hotel full of Turks and Eastern Europeans on serious shopping trips, excellent for its location and real value for money. Room clean if small, always fresh towels, plenty of food in the buffet breakfast. Plenty of restaurants, shops, mosques, bazaars […] in the surrounding area with main tourist areas easy walking distance away. So easy booking and follow-up with Hotels.com. "Buyuk Keban"
The hotel is quite near to the tram to go to the sightseeing places. It is 5-10mins to walk to the tram and main street which has many shops and restaurants. Hotel is up slope so it is not easy for those who can't walk far. I booked a twin room and a triple room for 4 nites. The triple room is small and gets tight after we open our luggage. The bath […] room is small, especially the toilet bowl area but I like the shower as i can sit on the step and shower. I am small so the shower room is alright to get in and out but for big size guests, it may be difficult. The room balcony is not accessible though the door can open. The doors are not sound proof as at 5.30am daily, the prayers from a mosque (loudhailer) can be heard. I like the hot and cold water dispenser at the corridor and computers at the lobby. The breakfast is good as there are hot and cold food available. My husband stayed earlier at Bentley hotel which is much more expensive and it serves cold breakfast with a much smaller spread. The lifts are small as mentioned by other reviewers. It takes 3 passengers but our family of 3 adults and 2 kids could get in. There is a small provision shop on a back alley opposite the hotel that sells a mini water boiler for TL4 or US$2. It was useful in Athens. The owner was a friendly old man. Les mer
"Great hotel at a budget"
This hotel was so comfortable that I returned to the same property on the way out of Turkey. The location is great, although it is two tramway stops away from Sultanahmet but it is close to other attractions and in walking distance of Istanbul´s other attractions. "Not really in 'the heart of Istanbul'"
As we quickly realized, the bazaar-district and the Buyuk Keban hotel is more the outskirts of Istanbul than really center. For a central hotel, you should aim for Sultanahmet. The neighbourghood is somewhat tacky, really not a place you want to hang out, shop or see anything. Thus the hotel was quickly reduced to being a place to sleep, nothing else. The […] room was fairly clean, not fancy, but acceptable. The door and windows toward the street were loose, i.e. you could not shut them tight, resulting in a lot of street noise and being woken up at 5am, when the Muezzin started singing. Breakfast was nothing fancy, however acceptable food. We did not use any of the hotel's other facilities. We did, though, inspect the spa, which looked very dirty and unappealing. Service was average, but kind. Our biggest complaint, perhaps, was the "wireless internet", which was close to useless as a result of weak signal. I tried different spots in the hotel, lobby and stairways, and my Samsung cell-phone was never able to catch any connectivity. Our laptop did occasionally manage to catch a signal, but it would then drop so often, practically rendering the "wireless" useless. I would not recommend the Buyuk Keban Hotel, as there seem to be many better located alternatives with similar or more features. Les mer
"Hotel Buyuk Keban - Istanbul"
The hotel was good, would of appreciated when we arrived and checked in that we were informed of the facilities available in the hotel and if someone spoke better English.
The only issue is ENGLISH, only the reception staff at check in speak English. Great location to move around, all tram, metro is very close by. value for money is also there if your purpose is only to use the hotel to sleep in the night. There are no business ammenities if needed. Wireless internet is avaialble but keeps cuting on/Off;
"Good price near Tram"
We stayed for 6 nights in this hotel. It was a decent price, the bed was extremely comfortable and they provided an extra bed for our 2 year old. There was a great playground nearby that we took our child to every evening. It was a bit over a block away from the tram, but we often skipped the tram and walked down to the Haggia Sophia area where most […] of the sites are. If we walked the other direction we weren't far from a modern 4 or 5 story shopping mall. The staff were very friendly and even lent us a guide book while we were there. The buffet was larger than we expected but not much that was hot. It had soup, 2 kinds of cereal, a toast machine, french fries, hot dog sausages, cold cut meats, hard boiled eggs, feta cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, cheese, and a couple of other things. Plus tea, coffee, water and a cold lemon drink. It was fine the first few days but by the end of the week I was tired of it. We were the only native English speakers we saw that week, lots of Russians. The down side to the hotel was that it is an old facility. The bathrooms aren't ventilated well so there are mildew stains in places, and the hotel itself is kept very warm. But our room was very clean and had AC. If they would invest in a bit of remodeling in the bathrooms we wouldn't have anything to complain about. Les mer
Lack of exhaust in the bathroom was the major problem and also the shower water was leaking to the floor of the bathroom. Both are very much gross.

The hotel is clean, safe and 5 minutes walk from the nearest train station. The working staff wears serious looks on their faces but are helpful when needed. The hotel is located in an interesting part of Istanbul. The rooms are small and the breakfast is fair.

"Excellent location -near must-see sights"
Staff was helpful, friendly and very attentive. They addressed concerns as soon as I brought them to their attention. The location is within walking distance to most famous must-see sites. The buffet-type breakfast was included in the price and it was delicious. Definitively recommend if you want good location, internet access, clean room, good breakfast […] and expect no-frills. This hotel was very good value for money. The rooms were clean and serviced daily and they have all the things you need for a place to stay for a few days - TV, Internet, Telephone etc. The location was convenient for visiting all the major attractions in the old city and the tram is a 5 minute walk away. Lots of reasonable resturants in the vicinity, […] but watch out for the coffee shop just up the road - it's a rip off! The price included a fairly substatial breakfast and there is a water cooler with cold and boiling water on each floor with an ice machine on every second floor for guests to use. The hotel was very basic, but clean and easily accessible.There are taxis at your door step, but I would recommend you walk down to the main road and catch a tram to where you need to go. Ett fint hotell med ett bra läge nära den Stora basaren och Blå Mosken. Frukosten som ingick var riktigt bra. Rummet var litet men rent och prydligt. Det enda negativa med hotellet var att det låg mellan två moskeer och tidigt varje morgon väcktes man av böneutrop.

Since it was cheap to book, we didn't expect too much of it but we we're definitely not disappointed. The spa section was small and not worth the money. "Redelijk hotel"
Een redelijk hotel met vriendelijk personeel. Gezellig ontbijt! Interessante omgeving met veel Oost-Europese toeristen/handelaren. Badkamer was niet echt goed schoon.

vicino alla linea del tram,stazione taxi di fronte l'hotel a tutte le ore,comunque sufficientemente centrale,personale cortese e disponibile come tutti in turchia,wifi in camera free,colazione abbondante ma per gusti locali , questo però è soggettivo.per quello che costa va piu che bene.

για τα χρηματα που εδωσα εμεινα αρκετα ικανοποιημενος καθαρο ξενοδοχειο ,ασφαλες,κ κοντα σε πολλα μνημεια ,σε ησυχη σχετικα γειτονια κ κοντα στο μεγαλο φημισμενο παζαρι.μοναδικο μελανο σημειο ελεγε οτι ειχε παρκινγκ ενω τελικα δεν μας δωσανε..αλλα ακριβως διπλα ειχα οτοπαρκ με 7 ευρω τη μερα οποτε παλι καλα!
"Not a worth to consider this hotel"
If you're reading this, better to hit the back button and start fresh search. Yet, you're curious why? Here are my experience on 2 nights stay. You're sitting in the room and you hear everything happening in the next room and corridor LIVE. Soundproof has never been on mind when buidling the hotel. Bed mattress will make you get up early, so uncomfortable. […] Bathtub is tiny but it wasn't too much of a trouble for me as I'm rather small though it would be of problem for adult man. But the worst is not yet to come. Airconditioning in the room is simply horrible. It went up to 28 C at night, air feeling stuffy and I seriously sweated in the room. After the first night, I reported malfunctioning of the airconditioner before going out. When returned to the hotel that evening, it felt a little cooler. Yet didn't stay long that way. Within a couple of hours, room got heated again and when I was packing for checkout the next day, room temperature was nearly 30C. A/C controller in the room was nothing but an accessary. If you're far from being convinced yet, here's punch line. I complained malfunctioning of A/C, the guy at the front desk (day shift) picked up the phone and barked at it in Turkish then tried to turn to another customer. I insisted to be explained saying hotel lobby feeling pleasantly cool while my room feeling hot and stuffy, he looked annoyed and said it's central A/C so there's shouldn't be any difference between the lobby and guest room. With this, he simply turned his back and I was simply dismissed like that. His attitude and personality obviously betray the nature of hospitality business. Location of the hotel is not ideal either. Nearest tram stop is 100m away and it's 4 stops away from Sultanahmet. I'd rather pitch a tent in the open air than staying at this hotel if you're ready to fight against mozzies. At least, you don't waste your money and enjoy nice night breeze outside. Les mer

"Bad for value hotel"
Hotel is VERY basic, everything costs extra, for example the gym, that was said would be with the prize cost an unreasonable $20 per use!!! Breakfast was bad, food was kept warm during a long time with high risk for infections as a consequence.... Отель полностью соответствует 3-м звездам. Удобное расположение около трамвайной остановки и недалеко от метро, если надо в аэропорт. Завтраки без изысков но очень сытные и вкусные. Есть два компьютера с инетом, предоставляется пользование бесплатно, еще в холле есть телефон и купив карту на улице можно недорого звонить по миру.После выселения оставили […] вещи в камере хранения до позднего вечера, тоже без проблем.Есть куллер на этаже, уборка если повесите табличку с заменой полотенцев, в общем нам понравилось!и главное это сам Стамбул!! OK hotel. Breakfast better than usually at these budget hotels. Not far from the tram line. HOWEVER, YOU SHOULD STOP ADVERTISING THE HOTEL HAVING A FITNESS CENTER OR AT LEAST BE HONEST ENOUGH TO MENTION THE FEE! There is a gym at the hotel, all right, but it costs 20$ a day to use. There are plenty of better located budget hotels to choose from in Istanbul. […] I only chose this one because of the fitness centre. O Hotel tem uma ótima localização, há 20 minutos de caminhada dos principais pontos turísticos. Há 4 quadras do tram, e com várias lojas e restaurantes em frente. Os apartamentos são confortáveis e limpos, porém bem compactos. O café da manhã é estilo turco, bem farto.

De finns ingenting som är omöjligt för dom. Jag hade med mig min åtta månaders flicka och var lite orolig för de är man alltid för förälder men de va super trevliga o mottagliga.
