Everything was very good, particularly the staff and location was perfect...only small complaint was the beds are little low and mattresses could have been a little thicker

We Stayed here for two nights recently. It was comfortable and functional but certainly not a four star, but in fairness we didn't pay four star prices either! Small out dated rooms, but nice big comfie bed :-) It was clean etc but none of the 'extra's' you expect from 4 star. The 'pool' was little more than a heated plunge pool situated on the roof..which […] was extremely windy, as Lagos is naturally anyway! But up on the roof top..it's wild! Les mer

Our experience in this hotel was excellent in very way. Hotel was clean, comfortable, and cozy with delicious breakfast. Our room faced the marina and the location was walking distance to historic sites and the amazing beaches in Lagos. We highly recommend this hotel.

very helpful and polite staff especially reception - it really is a must to have a marina view room because all back rooms look onto the bus station although the front rooms have sun till mid day the back have it till it goes down breakfats can be a little different each day with full scrambled eggs bacon and beans one day and the next just boiled eggs […] however there was always enough cold food and bread rolls - sometimes one has to wait fro a table but not too often. rooms 101 201 and 301 are the best all balconies are excellent and the soundproof sliding doors to balconies are adequate since the front is on the main road. some nights the bars over on the marina can be massively loud till1.oo in the morning.Overall a good hotel but we think Alvor is much better. Staff very friendly and couldn't do enough for you. Hotel spotlessly clean and had a very relxing atmosphere. We would definitely stay there again and would recommend to anyone. We had a marina view room on the second floor, would recommend that if people considering booking.

Fabulous location and view of the Marina, but be sure to book a balcony with a Marina view! Loved the bijou pool on the roof, the fact that we could make hot drinks in the room, free safe and lovely sunny breakfast room. Very easy walk into the old town and beaches too. We would recomend this hotel and will certainly go again.

the staff and hotel were great. the hotel was conveniently located and we were able to walk everywhere. the hotel offered a free beach shuttle (for 2 local beaches). this was very convenient. breakfast was also included and offered a nice variety of continental and local foods.....plenty of them. our room had an awesome marina view. the only draw back […] was that our room had two single beds that were attached in the middle......they could use a little update. highly reccomend the hotel. We stayed for 3 nights and really enjoyed our stay. The hotel is very clean and the staff are very helpful. I would suggest paying the extra for the marina view as we hadn't and the back rooms overlook a bus station. Overall an excellent hotel particularly if you are only staying for a few days.

We are a family of four - mum, dad and 2 sons in their early twenties. We wanted a hotel near the beach but also near enough to the town so our boys could go out in the evening to the local bars and clubs. This hotel was perfect. Overlooking the beautiful marina and just (for us) a short walk to the beach (about half a mile) and only a few hundred metres […] from the town centre. We loved the historic old town with the cobbled streets. The hotel itself is quite understated, but efficiently run and clean. The pool is very small but the area around it and on the adjoining roof top is quite extensive, offering lovely views of the marina area. Nearby there are several pubs and restaurants. In the old town we found The Green Room which was a real gem with surprisingly excellent food (if you like mexican)and a great atmosphere, for both us and our lads. Watch out if you are standing outside the hotel with a handbag. The hotel stands alone, just next to the bus station. There is a large expanse of waste ground and people like to stand out there for a cigarette. We witnessed a lady having her handbag stolen. Luckily our youngest is a fitness coach and so he was able to run the thief down and return the handbag to its grateful owner. Les mer

Excellent experience. Staff friendly and helpful. Spotless in all areas including the pool and sun terrace even though little used due to the time of year. No children a real asset if you want to relax. Great location, close to Marina, beach and old town facilities. Highly recommended.

Nice, quiet hotel a little outside the touristy heart of town. Affordable rooms, free internet, and an ideal location for us. We could turn right to head into the heart of town or out to the Point, or go straight across the marina to the huge traditional beach. The weather was a little too chilly during our visit, but there's a heated rooftop pool […] and a sundeck for lounging with a marina view. If only Lagos hadn't been so windy while we were there! The Albergaria Marina Rio Guesthouse overlooking the Marina in Lagos, Portugal is an excellent hotel. It is small & extremely friendly & its location could not have been better. We stayed Bed & Breakfast in a room on the first floor overlooking the Marina. The room was well appointed with twin beds, a large wardrobe, fridge & teas-made which was quite […] unusual for a continental hotel,but very welcome. A sliding door opened out on to a spacious balcony. In hindsight we would have preferred a room on the second or third floor just to have had a better view of the Marina but hopefully we can consider that if we are fortunate to return in the future. The bathroom was spacious with a shower over the bath plus a bidet. The breakfasts are buffet served & were substantial with excellent choice of hot & cold food, fresh fruit, yoghurts, various croissants, breads, buns, toast, tea & coffee in abundance in a delightful fresh & airy room overlooking the marina. The Hotel was spotlessly clean & tidy, the rooms were cleaned daily with fresh towels. The Small Rooftop Pool was a lovely place to relax & with great views over the town. Les mer

The picture on the Web site is misleading. the hotel is on a busy road in a good location but it is Not on the water as it appears in the picture. We enjoyed our stay which looked out on a marina and southward to the sea and distant beach. Parking reservations are recommended as city parking is for three hours at a time until 10 pm at night. I read a number of reviews about this hotel and as advised chose a room with a Marina view; this is well worth the extra money and I would recommend the higher floors (2 or 3). I agree with other reviewers that there was a little noise in the evening from the street, but this was more from the odd reveller than traffic. The staff were exceptionally […] helpful, particularly with restaurant suggestions. The room was comfortable and at breakfast there was a good choice. Although there are very nice beaches and coves nearby, the small pool and sun terrace on the roof were very acceptable at times. The hotel is only a gentle walk from the main shopping / restaurant area and therefore not affected by music etc later in the evening. I would certainly use this hotel again when visiting Lagos. We arrived at this hotel not knowing what to expect as it was indicated as a guest house, but were relieved that it was in fact a full service hotel. The front desk staff was very welcoming and have us one of their better rooms, but beware - the rooms that are "quieter" face on the local bus station - so the view is not great. That was really the only […] negative thing I can say about this hotel. There are a lot of great little extras in the room. Little fridge, hair dryer, safe, nice balconny with table and chairs - great for enjoying a bottle of wine. Drying line for towels on the balcony. Free wi-fi access but only in the lobby. Business center, nice sitting area in lobby and very nice breakfast with hot and cold food. The location is very good, there is street parking behind the hotel - although you have look a little. The main area for restaurants and shops is a 7 minute walk and the same to the beach. The hotel offers a shuttle bus to two beaches in the morning and will pick you up in the afternoon. There is a really cute pool on the top floor and a sun deck from where we watched the lunar eclipse one night. We were very pleased with our stay and we would definitely stay at this hotel again! Hotel was clean and staff was friendly. Conveniently located next to bus station and across from pedestrian bridge to train station. Free breakfast went above and beyond.

Clean well kept opposite marina. Rooms nice size with balcony and adequate furniture.friendly staff and small bar.No food available apart from very average buffet breakfast.Have walking disability and entrance not really suitable (no hand rails) but not major problem. Not to bad in all.

This hotel was a minute away from the bus terminal making it very accessible to the transportation both within Portugal and to Spain. The staff were extremely helpful, warm and friendly. The hotel was small and inviting. Breakfast was wonderful and when we had to depart before the normal breakfast hours, they opened up and set up the entire breakfast […] buffet. Very clean, comfortable hotel with friendly staff. Lovely breakfast with something to suit all tastes. Only downside is that it is by the bus station which was handy, but there was some noise, however, this did not detract from a very enjoyable stay. It is very close to all amenities and convenient for the pretty town, marina and beaches.

Das Hotel ist sehr gut gelegen und man hat einen herrlichen Blick auf die Marina. Auch in das Stadtzentrum kommt man zu Fuß sehr gut. Das Frühstücksbuffet ist in Ordnung und die Zimmer sind sehr sauber und das Personal ist unglaublich hilfsbereit. Auch der kleine Pool am Dach und die Sonnenterasse sind ganz angenehm. Very nice and friendly hotel in a calm area just opposite the marina. Extremely helpful and kind staff. Within walking distance to downtown and to the beaches (though the hotel has a bus transport). Highly recommendable.
