This hotel was much more than expected. Staff were incredibly friendly and helpful at all times. All rooms have an amazing view over Positano and gorgeous rooms that are clean and spacious. Having been to Positano before, I knew what to expect in terms of the landscape and how many stairs etc there are to the beach. Yes, there are a few but the view […] is worth it. Half of the better (and less expensive restaurants compared to the beach) are on your way down. If need be, use the free shuttle service the hotel offers or the public bus. This hotel is toward the top of the cliff that Positano is built into, but don't let this put you off. The views are beautiful and there are many very good restaurants on the way down the road to the coast. Many people who visit Positano miss these views and they are the best bit. Excellent Hotel. View is beautiful ! The hotel and staff is fantastic. Would HIGHLY recomend. The walk / bus trip down to the beach is worth it. The service, staff and facility excellent. Great value .. would return on the next trip to Positano. Worth it.

Just got back from a 5 night stay in Positano. The staff was very friendly and all spoke English. Room was beautiful with great balcony overlooking water and appeared recently reburished. Only downside was a bit of a walk to the main beach areas but the free shuttle service helped a lot with that. Plus - wasn't bad to walk off all the excellent foo […] d. Les mer

This hotel is really great! It was a birthday celebration so we splurged with the sea-view terrace and were close to shops. Central Positano was a bus-ride away, less than 10 minutes and the stop is conveniently located outside of the hotel. Staff was friendly and very accommodating with all of our requests. Highly recommend.

This hotel was situated in Positano with a bus line to take you d/t Positano just outside of the door. Staff were very friendly and helpful and what could beat sitting on the terrace in the morning overlooking the sea, drinking coffee and eating italian croissants! We would not hesitate to return to this hotel.

Removed from the tourist chaos of being seaside, the only disadvantage is the long walk or ride to the shopping area and boat departures. However, the hotel offers free shuttles and the management is very accommodating. Great experience.

upon arrival we were greeted by a disinterested teenage boy with his underwear showing who checked us is. after being uncomfortably oggled at by the porter we were shown to our room. We had requested twin beds at booking, however were given a double bed. When we requested a room with twin beds, we were told this was not requested...despite having printed […] proof of the request sent to hotel by hotels.com. I was then told bad luck, the cleaning staff had gone home for the day (it was 3pm). The owner then brought linen for 2 seperate beds to the room, and we then had to seperate and remake the 2 beds ourselves. This was pittiful service for a hotel classed as 4 stars. We then requested info on Wi-fi and were told it was not available. We could pay 10euros for a cord to plug in for dial up -- not helpful for an i-phone! When we asked the boy if he had a map of town, he said 'where do you wanna go'. we replied just into town to look around, and he said 'just go down the stairs over the road'. abour 2000 stairs later!!! we reached town. Hotels location very far from town, and almost an impossible feat to climb back up. After check out we asked reception to call a taxi company for us. As we were not using their preferred taxi company, we were told to wait and they would bring us a mobile to call from which would cost us 5euros. we chose to walk to a payphone. while one of us waited in lobby with luggage while the other went to the phone, i was asked to wait in the upstairs outdoor sitting area. i said i was fine to wait there, however this wasnt satisfactory as other guests may arrive. So i left. we felt uncomfortatble waiting for our taxi in the reception area so we took our luggage out onto the road. 3 male staff members came out and stood on theopposite side of road until taxi arrived and none of them offered to help us with our luggage into the taxi. very disappointed , avoid staying here if your service expectations are above 2 stars. Hotel had a wonderful view and everyone was very welcoming. The room was very spacious and clean as well as the bathroom. Highly recommend staying here! Great experience!

We had a rare opportunity to go to Positano without our kids. Although not cheap, I think this was well worth the price. Breakfast is served in your room, out on the balcony table overlooking the sea - just beautiful! The hotel has a free shuttle that delivers you right to the central area of town, and picks you up as well, just make sure you know the […] times. Parking was extra, but worth the expense in my opinion, to avoid the hassle and walking. We would definitely repeat the experience. Les mer

This is great hotel. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The rooms are very spacious and clean. We managed to get a room with the sea view and it was fantastic to have breakfast wacthing the beautiful blue sea from our room terrace. The surrounding family restaurants serve great local food and the restaurant owners were also very friendly and […] wonderful people. The only thing travellers might frown on is that the hotel is near the top of Positano. This means you have to exercise those legs to climb up to the hotel when you return from the beach or shopping. However, if you psych yourself to believe that this is good daily exercise, then it should not be a major problem. For those who feel too tired, there is always the Internal bus which stops 50 meters away from the hotel costing Euro1.5 per pax. Lastly, for those coming by bus from Sorrento, the SITA bus stops almost right in front of the hotel so it is very convenient especially if you have bulky luggage. Les mer

Fint och prydligt rum med havsutsikt. Nyrenoverat och fräscht hotel. Konstigt dock att frukostmatsal saknades och att enklast möjliga frukost serverades enbart på rummet. Ett minus även att hotellet enbart gav tips på dyra kringtjänster, transport, utflykter samt restautangtips - på restauranger där det verkade finnas bågon from av kommissionavtal med […] hotellet. Hotel Palazzo is a nice hotel. The view from the room is absolutly stunning. The view is priceless - however there are a few things about the hotel - that could improve. The hotel is located very high up (which gives perfect view) however there is nothing really to see around the hotel. A minibus takes you down to town and back for free - but ONLY […] at certain times of the day. At checkout we asked if they could bring us down the hill - but we had to pay 15 euro if they should bring us down. At this pricelevel, considering other hotels I've stayed at, it seems bit cheap. Just as we had to wait for 10 minutes - before the driver would drive the bus down - though we were the only ones at the hotel? Also we took one of the towels to the beach - and on our way out - a maid tells us in a hard tone - that its not allowed. Easy tigers. Its a stonebeach - not sandy at all - and I would expect the personel not to make the guests feel like thieves. The last thing is - that the view is not overlooking the city - it's on the other side of the mountain. Still a perfect view - but something you should think about before booking. All in all a nice hotel - with its faults. Les mer
