Residence Inn by Marriott San Diego Downtown/Gaslamp Quarter - San Diego

Hotellet svarte til våre forventninger og vi hadde et fint opphold. Sengen var god, og sofaen gikk også an å sove på. Frokosten var ok. Litt lytt mellom rommene, og ellers er ikke vegg-til-vegg-teppe favoritten her i gården. Noe merkelig at vaskeservanten og speilet i tilknytning til badet ikke er på badet, men utenfor baderomsdøren. Det er f.eks. ikke […] lagt opp til at man skal ha noe særlig privatliv når man ordner seg, dersom man bor flere på rom sammen. Videre bodde vi to kolleger sammen på rommet, og sjekket ut på ulike tidspunkter samme dag. Da opplevde vi at vi begge ble bedt om å betale for det vi hadde brukt i minibaren, noe som innebar at vi betalte dobbelt opp. Uproft og unødvendig. Ellers greit hotell. Les mer

Only complaint was that the closets have dividing shelves, so you can't hang anything long in them. Everything else was good. Enjoyed the place.

Pleasant, quiet room, good computer access (plus computers available in lobby - free of charge). Satisfactory breakfast with a wide range of food, including much fruit. Staff were helpful and friendly.

This hotel exceeded my expectations, even though I've stayed at much fancier hotels in the same area. I stayed in a 1 bedroom suite, with pullout couch, which was roomy & comfortable for the 3 of us. We had a full kitchen, including dishwasher, and room was spotless & well maintained. Included is a full hot buffet breakfast, which includes eggs, waffles, […] cereals, oatmeal, donuts, etc. Service was gracious. Hotel is right in the center of the gaslamp district- 1 block from the main "strip" of resturants, bars and shops, and only 2 blocks from the convention center. The only downside is the cost of parking, but unfortunately that seems to be the going rate in the area. Les mer

Trying to accomodate multiple business associates together can sometimes create many obstacles. With The Residence Inn by Marriott we were able to overcome all of these. The spacious bathroom and full kitchen were exactly what we needed to save time and money. for the price of this hotel you're better off paying the little extra and staying at the W or Hard Rock

The San Diego Gaslamp district has many wonderful hotels and the Residence Inn does not disappoint. The hotel room was beautiful with its own kitchen and bathroom areas. The room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. The only thing concern that I had was that the hotel states in their guest booklet that they can provide toothbrushes and toothpaste […] along with other items for free. However, when I got to the front desk, they told me that I would have to pay for those items. Other than this, I had a great stay and it made my stay in San Diego very nice. Les mer

From the minute we walked in the front door, we were impressed by the cleanliness of the lobby and friendliness of the staff. John checked us in and he was so inviting and helpful with directions to area points of interest. Our room was stunning, large and very clean. I am not sure how new this hotel is, but it seems Brand New. The breakfast was full […] of a variety of items, from scrambled eggs, biscuits and gravy, etc. My favorite was the oatmeal and the yogurt in a cup with blueberries & granola. If you don't plan on driving, park in the lot next door to North for $25 overnight till 6 p.m. the next day. Les mer

I stayed at the Residence with a group of girls for my close friend's bachelorette weekend. We had two rooms, each with one Queen bed and a pull out couch. This comfortably accomodated our group of 7, but we would have preferred two queens in each room. We loved: the continental breakfast-yummy, many options, and great for a hangover; the staff-everyone […] was friendly and straightforward- I especially liked the valet drivers. Even though parking was expensive, they were adorable, quick and friendly; we were walking distance to our gaslamp destinations--the Marble Room and Double Deuce; the vanity in the room was great for getting ready; we didn't care for: even though we were fine in this regard because we got two rooms, only 4 adults are allowed per room. We didn't have to get any wrist band or anything, but we signed soemthing at check in stating we didn't have more than 4 per room. I like when you can squeeze many into one room; we were only given two key per room even though we had 4 people--this was a bit tricky as we left the club at different times and because with a big group of people--people are bound to lose keys. oh, yea, parking is NOT cheap. Overall, we LOVED our stay and I would definitely recommend this hotel to families or partiers visitng San Diego. Les mer

We recently went stayed at the Residence Inn Gaslamp hotel for my bachelorette party. The rooms were absolutely perfect! We had a one bedroom suite which had two rooms and full kitchen and we had a studio suite with full kitchen. Each room we fit 5 girls comfortably and we were really able to utilize the full kitchen for our cocktail bars and midnight […] snacks. The rooms were very clean and trendy and only 2 blocks from all our events that were in the gaslamp! Great valet service and wonderful continental breakfast. We also enjoyed the rooftop pool. Small so our party took the whole pool area but that made it even more special. I would highly reccomend this hotel. I have stayed at the omni, sharaton, and Hilton in gaslamp and this room is just as great for half the price. Les mer

Nice hotel, big room. A bit noisy area with many pubs and restaurants. Somewhat strange arrangement of the room with the sink outside the bathroom and toilet. Sliding door to bathroom quite noisy. Very practical with a small kitchen with fridge and possibility to cook.

The room was beautiful, comfortable and very clean. The staff was very friendly. It felt like home in the middle of the city. The location at the Gaslamp Quarter is perfect as you can go right out to the night life. The hotel security is also very good. Watch out for the tub.. it's slippery.. almost fell! Hotel is highly recommended.

This hotel is in a great location. In the Gaslamp Quarter, it's 2 blocks from Petco Park and a 5 minute walk to the convention center. The room was nicely furnished, clean, and had a full kitchen. However, it's cheaper than many hotels in the area and it seems to be the choice of partiers. On two of the three nights of my stay, there was quite alot […] of loud noise coming from the rooms around me. If you have to get up early to go to convention meetings, it might be worth the extra money to stay at one of the more pricey hotels. I'm just guessing, but I imagine the partiers are more budget than quality conscious. Les mer

This hotel is walking distance to everything in Gaslamp. My room had an entire kitchen with a full size fridge which was great! I would definitely recommend this hotel to my friends..

We picked this hotel for the location to the baseball stadium. It was perfect, literally a 5 min walk each way. The hotel was very elegant and the breakfast buffet the next morning was 5 stars!

The hotel is convenient, clean and new. It is in a great location. If your staying in a room with more than two people, make sure that you get a one bedroon suite. A sinle room wont cut it. The breakfast buffet was great, but their dinner is horrible. Worst burger I have ever recieved. There are great resturants within walking distance.

Bait and switch. I booked a "suite" with king size bed and sofabed, but was given a full size bed with sofabed. Hotels.com receipt failed to show bed size, so I was stuck! Not to mention they ancelled my room keys a day early and then were rude when I went to the front desk to complain and get them reactivated. Also, coffee provided, did not work in […] the provided coffee pot. Les mer
