I could not have imagined a worse place to stay. After 23 hours of travel we were greeted rudely, made to wait until the manager could reboot her computer. Our room was the size of a postage stamp. The bed was rutted out and there was no outlet in the bathroom. Just when I thought things could not get worse - domestic violence erupted @2am in the courtyard. I believe this hotel offers a great alternative when you do not wish to be at a fancy resort, but wish to be close to the center of town and have access to the roads that lead to all the natural wonders that make Kauai so unique. "Domestically Violent Atmosphere"
Do not stay at this hotel! The photos on the Internet must be photoshopped. The service was terrible. After a 22 hour day, we were made to wait & wait & wait until the manager could get the computer working. Then we carried our luggage up a flight of stairs to our postage stamp sized room with no AC! The mattress was sunken in and the bathroom had no […] electrical outlet. We awoke to a domestic dispute taking place in the courtyard @2:30am. Which then set off the roosters that continued to crow for the next hour or so. This place seemed to be a local flop house for drunks who wandered in at all times of the night setting off car alarms. Did I mention that the walls were so thin you could hear your neighbor sneeze. You get what you pay for! Les mer

Had we known that it wasn't working or if the room was not to your liking we would have immediately addressed your concern and resolved your issue. We do have AC in most of our rooms, but you had reserved the standard upstairs mountain view room with ceiling fans and cool trade winds. Regarding our daily guests, we are fortunate to have very pleasant visitors from all over the world as well as our neighbor islands and mainland. The room I stayed in at the Kauai Palms Hotel was probably one of the cleanest hotel rooms I have ever stayed in. The room was not fancy or spacious, but it was very clean and comfortable. "loud roosters"
great accept for the roosters that began at 3:50 AM and continued constantly beyond our 7:30 am checkout. There are plenty of areas where you'll find roosters in HI. But at Kauai Palms some of the non-A/C rooms have a slatted window on the door which doesn't close. Combine this perma-open window with the street-side room which is across from a fairly […] open lots full of roosters, and you are ripe for a rude awakening. Sunrise only would have been more tolerable, these guys were at it at 3:50 and no ear-plugs or wait-noise phone app would drown them out. Les mer
"Kauai Palms Hotel"
Cute Mom and Pop outfit - Close to the airport - Clean room with a comfortable bed. Very friendly staff which included two adorable house cats. We enjoyed the local restuarant. We just needed a room for a couple of days until we could get into out condo in Princeville. I wouldn't want to spend a whole week there. But it met our needs very well.

I would have given this hotel higher rating if it hadn't been for the fact that the wireless internet connection which the hotel advertises and which is absolutely essential for me, had been working. The receptionist, who I overheard being super helpful to a bunch of other people with information on what to see, and where and when to go, simply didn't […] believe me that the connection was down (I work in the computer industry and travel with my laptop all the time and anywhere in the world. I know when it's the connection rather than my laptop) until she finally realized it really was the hotel's fault. Other than that: this is a small place, with very small rooms and small bathrooms, but the room manages to be cozy and comfortable enough nonetheless. For breakfast, muffins and coffee/tea were offered in the reception area. The neighborhood is far from charming, and there is no view to speak of (my room was on the ground floor. It may be different on the second floor). Choose this if saving money is your primary concern, and you'll be safe and comfortable enough. Les mer
"OK when waiting for a late plane outta town"
We only chose this hotel because it was close to the airport and we had an 11pm flight back to the mainland. The twin beds in our room, placed together might have accommodated my 6'5" frame, but we just wanted a crash space, catch a nap and leave. The hotel is OK for the price, but when you're on a beautiful island like Kauai, you don't want to feel […] you're near the slums. "fair price"
For an inexpensive room this place can not be beat. The front desk was always friendly and helpful. It is not very close (walking distance) to the beach but if you have a car it's well worth the price. The neighborhood is a little sketchy -- there was an arrest made one night and when I walked to the beach a guy living across the street followed me […] and made me nervous. The rooms are small but adequate for our need at the time. We would use them again and the bed was quite comfortable. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Price was very reasonable per night.

Close to LIH, midway between the north and south ends, cheaper than most, friendly staff who helped me with questions. My only complaint was mosquitos in the lobby sofas that the staff was clearly unaware of. Wireless Internet worked best from the lobby - which is how I found about the mosquitos. It is a good place near to the LIH airport if you want to pay less and save more for other activities. It is better to rent a car and take advantage of the parking lot. The place looks like a motel but it is clean and comfort. However, you have no phone in your room! The people in the front desk are nice.

Very basic accomodations - VERY tiny rooms. We stayed here to bookend a timeshare week at the superb Bali Hai Resort at Princeville. The rooms had 2 twin beds and no tables to set a laptop on to work on. This seems like a family run place and the staff was very nice. The WiFi worked fine and they had a community computer in the lobby to check emails […] on along with a basic coffee and muffins breakfast in the lobby each morning. The units are simple and older but clean. The in room compact refrigerators were small and one room's was really a wine refrigerator that only chilled down to about 50 degrees. A minor complaint was that the in room coffee only had flavored (French Vanilla) creamers and I hate flavored creamer (so bring your own if you are like me!). The location is very close to the Lihue airport (~5 minutes tops). This was cheapest hotel I could find on Kauai so my expectations weren't high, and it was a decent value, all things considered. I would find accomodations elsewhere if I return. It was just too inconvenient to not have a table to work on and the creamer issue was an irritation. They do have window A/C units that kept the room nicely cooled though. Les mer
"very nice place to stay."
we really enjoyed the mid-town location, with little cafe's we could walk to. It was very quiet at night, and the parking was very close to our room. The room was comfortable, and the air conditioning did all that was necessary. The concierge was friendly and very helpful. The Motel fit our needs and our budget. We would like to stay there again.

Very small room, good for one night, not for vacation time. Dirty bathroom, but clean and comfotable beds. Good thing - they offer breakfast. good coffe and mafins...Stuff is very friendly.

No AC so the windows have to be open all nite which lets in all the noise from other guy tenants who just seemed to stay up late and hang out. Someone had their TV on till 3 am. But just needed some place cheap and close to the airport for a few hours and that is what I got. Another 10 or 20 bucks would have got me a nicer place.

The staff at the front desk was really nice. The office closes at 9pm so we had a late check in. Just tell them your name and manager on site comes out to give you your key, sign the paper inside the envelope and return to front desk. It was really easy. The rooms are pretty small, but I didnt care much since my girlfriend and I werent in the room that […] much. The room had cable and a small mini-fridge. Both pretty useful. There is a computer on site and wifi, but we didnt use them. Its located by 3 pretty good restaurants, all walking distance (which is great when you cant rent a car). The beds are a little on the uncomfortable side and they only give you two flattened pillows. Other than the bed and the pillows it was pretty quaint hotel. Ill be going back there for sure. Les mer

A low cost hotel not far from Lihue airport on Kauai. It was comfortable, but I would not select this hotel as a vacation destination. We booked it because we were arriving a day early for our time share and were arriving late at night. The car rental agency was not open that late at night so we wanted a place to sleep that we could take a taxi close […] to the airport. The next day we took a taxi back to pick up our car and continued on to our time share. My husband really liked the digital TV with cable and a remote that worked. The staff was friendly and helpful. "Great Budget Option"
This is a budget hotel. Not a resort where you'll want to hang out by the pool in Kauai but an awesome bed for the night in route to other areas. The staff was super awesome, friendly and helpful. Good food in the area and central to everything. Bathroom wasn't the cleanest facility I've ever seen, but the bed was comfortable.

There are not the usual amenities ( AC, hairdryers, iron) that you might find in other establishments but the location, tucked away on a side street off Rice, around the corner from Hamura's Saimin shop, is central, quaint, & just the right amount of Hawaiiana with all rooms facing a scenic mountain range. Neighborhood a little scary, would not want to walk anywhere from here. Was good location close to airport. Very noisy room - could hear everyone moving about the hotel. Room was very small- smallest we had on a 2 week trip - and very non-private - people passing in front of room so needed to have all curtains shut the entire time.

wir haben das hotel nur für ca. 1 std. genutzt um unsere koffer abzustellen, und uns ein neues zimmer gesucht weil die bildbeschreibung und lage auf Ihrer Homepage einen für uns falschen eindruck ergab. man fühlte sich nicht sicher.

"素泊まりなら充分"
泊まったのは、道路に面してドアが並んだまさにモーテルのような部屋でしたが、清潔で感じも悪くなく、料金に見合った満足度でした。レストランはついていなく、近所へ出かけました。早朝出発の時は人のいないフロントのキーボックスに鍵を落としてチェックアウトするという簡単さです。
