Hotel Le Roi - New Delhi

Bråkete strøk, som forventet i denne bråkete storbyen. Men da deilig å ha et rent og hyggelig hotellrom med god service. Slett ikke noe luksushotell, men absolutt å anbefale i denne prisklassen. Kjedelig frokost som ellers i India, men hygienen er tydeligvis god siden vi spiste flere måltider her uten å bli syke.

Hotel Le Roi har fine og rene rom. I lobbyen er det to PC`er med fri internettilgang for gjester. Ok frokost. Litt dårlg service i resepsjonen (da jeg spurte om hjelp ifm. sightseeing, ble jeg henvist til internett). Litt "dårlig" strøk utenfor hotellet. Men alt i alt, ville jeg ha bodd på dette hotellet igjen.

not enough hot water, need less spicy food for westerners

The staff at the front desk and restaurant couldn't be nicer. It is a scruffy budget hotel with low quality furniture and ripped carpeting in the hallways. Easy access to computers. A good deal if you don't want to spend much money but stay in C.P.

OK quality. I recomend this hotel, but it has 3 problems. Although the price I paid to this hotel was cheap, the room I stayed for 1 night was very clean. You would need to wear earplugs. This hotel is not so far from the main gate of New Delhi station. I think the distance is less than 1 km. But streets which sorround the hotel are so complicated. You have to be careful not to loose the way to the hotel. It is full of bad indian who try to tell a lie & trick you there. The hotel is a relatively short taxi ride from the main railway station. Arrived late at night and the hotel location is in a "traditional" location and is something of a shock to a Business traveller who is used to Cars being searched and Electronic checks for guns etc in 5* Indian hotels. We stopped in the Hotel Le Roi after a 6 week trek through Nepal. Had a really great 3 days, resting and relaxing. Plenty of little cafes in the surrounding area to pick up a bite to eat. Hotel breakfast was good, plenty of variety and food. Very comfy bed and the free wi-fi was appreciated. Would stay there again.

We stayed 3 nights at the Hotel Le Roi and our stay was pleasant. The rooms are clean, and comfortable. The bed was nice, and there is a flat screen TV. They have a room service menu which is all Indian Cuisine. The building next door is under construction, and the noise starts around 9 am. The hotel Le Roi is of good quality. The services is good. The staff are very helpful. The food quality is of good quality. The surroundings is bit noisy but very convenient to reach the destination easily. The taxis are easily available.

Gem of a hotel for the price, but the location is sketchy as hell. Yes, it looks central to everything in Delhi, but trust me, you are not going to just walk out of the hotel and go walking around. Sort of convenient to Connaught Place, but why would anyone want to go there. The taxi had a terrible time finding this hotel. Always have the phone of the place you're staying in Deli. The neighborhood is horribly seedy, but it's OK for budget travelers.

HOTEL - newish hotel with modern decor. Close to metro line (5 min walking distance). The Hotel Le roi is a great value for the money. It happens to be located in a neighborhood where there are many inexpensive options for food as well. There is a place nearby that has is recomended by the Lonely Planet Guide. I would recomend it to anyone traveling to India on a budget.

The hotel is in a good, central location in Delhi. It's about 400 meters to the Metro station and less than a mile from Connought. The surrounding neighborhood is lively and typical of Delhi. The included breakfast is very good. Free wi-fi (but you have to log on each time you access it).

Booked a stay for the hotel at night. The first room they took me to the lock didnt work,then they shifted me to another room and the AC didnt work. Finally they shifted me to a smaller room even though I paid for an executive room. Could not sleep all night, could hear dogs barking all night and lot of horrible noises from outside. The rooms are very stylish and clean. Staff were very helpful and made our stay memorable. We partied on the roof top during Diwali which was one of the highlights of our trip. Hotel location is in the heart of New Delhi very close to a few nice restaurants on the same road - keep an eye out for Green Chilli.

Le Roi is a modern hotel very near Metro station. I was on my own traveling in India. I arrived at the hotel before 8 am and they allocated me my hotel room straight away without extra charge. Do not let the rough and tumble street put you off. The Hotel Le Roi was a great start in India. Clean, good staff, close to public transport, away from annoying 'Con'naught, useful business centre and a really decent breakfast with good Indian selection. Very good value for money.

Room and inside of hotel clean. Good showers. Rooms a bit dark. Hotel staff varies from helpful to not helpful. Immediate location shocking to Westerners but quickly get over it if with others, close to train station.

This hotel is close to the Main Bazaar, which might seem like a seedy neighbourhood to some, but we actually quite enjoyed walking around and bargaining for stuff. It's in a decent location to take $2 rickshaw rides to wherever you'd like to go. The inside of the hotel is quite nice - comfy beds, reasonable room service, simple breakfast, clean bathrooms […] (poor water pressure in shower), and nice TV. Also, the staff are friendly and willing to help with whatever you need. They let us leave our bags in the lobby until 10pm for free since our flight left very late. Although this hotel is in a rather disreputable area (according to my Indian friends), it is very close to the railway station and a short taxi or auto ride took me right to the door without the need to negotiate the busy roads. The hotel itself is excellent, spacious, clean and modern. - Very helpful staff - Clean room with hot water - In the heart of Pharganj A little bit tricky to find at first as it is quite far from the New Delhi station, take a rickshaw the first time. Also, the location on google maps is incorrect!

Excellent hotel. Staff, cleanliness, comfort, room service -- couldn't be better. The street outside is crowded -- but this is India. I'll definitely recommend it and come back.

We slept at that hotel twice and it was the day and night between our two stays. During the weekend, we had a room with a A/C out of service. Two support staff came in our room but they didn't know what to do so we slwpt in a room without A/C at 36C. The breakfast is between 7.00 to 10.30, we gone to 9.30 and they were no fruits, no coffe, no toast. […] We ask to have some but they told us that they serve all the one they have in the hotel already. We didn't have a bottle of water as complementary (as it was supposed), we had only one towel, at midnight the cable TV stop and we found bugs in the bed. The price is too high for the quality of the hotel. You should choise the Hotel Yes please cottage in the same street or Metropolise guest house where the price is low expensive for the same service. The hotel is located in a convenient place. You can walk to the new Delhi station n it takes 10 to 15 minutes. While walking, you can enjoy shopping at main bazar. Many restaurants n convenience stores are open until late night. I came back to the hotel at around 00:00 n it was safe. There's an ATM machine near the hotel. Since I had to leave the hotel before the breakfast tine, I asked them to send me the toast n chai. I asked many things at the reception n they did everything for me without being annoyed. Backpackers dream zone. Pahar Ganj zone is just great. If you are a bit paranoic however don't stay at Pahar Ganj. The hotel was very nice. The room is very very nice, lcd cable tv, nice bed, clean bathroom etc...Overall the hotel is great, however.... I did not like the personel of the hotel at all. They were always trying to take advantage in the […] prices they offered for everything such as: Taxi to airport, Sight Seeing Tours, Agra Tour, Exchange Rates etc. Conclusion: Great hotel and great location. Hotel Le Roi was a safe haven for my g/f and I when we stayed in Delhi. It's a little further walk away from the train stations, but nothing that we really noticed. The surrounding location is a bit dirty, but Delhi is dirty. The room was clean and comfortable. We would be glad to stay here again.

a great hotel in all spheres..

I've stayed in hostels better than this place, actually every place I've stayed was better than Hotel Le Roi. When we got the room, our sheets were filthy. We called house keeping to have them changed, and they still weren't that clean. Our air conditioner was broken (it was 90 degrees out). When we picked up the phone in the room, dust flew off of […] it. The entire hotel staff is very rude. As we were leaving, one of the staff members broke the handle off my suitcase. When I confronted them about it, they said "it wasn't our fault" when clearly they were rough with my luggage; they didn't even apologize! Overall, this place was dirty and the staff is rude. This hotel won a prize in 2008 for the best budget hotel in Delhi, I totally agree with this assessment. My husband and I had a day lay over in New Delhi, arriving at noon and leaving the next morning at 5:30AM and didn't feel like it was worth the money to stay at a nicer hotel for essentially 4 hours of sleep. Although I was weary of it being a budget […] hotel and the neighborhood it's located in, the hotel staff was friendly, the room was clean and it absolutely served its purpose. We did a ten day guided tour prior to our return trip to Delhi, and the hotel we stayed in for that tour was more expensive and less nice. I arrived in the night around 2300 hrs and I was told 1 hr grace check-out time can be provided, so I can check-out at 1300 PM. Ordered some room service in the night. Surroundings was not great as expected, based on the reviews, but I was alone staying one night, so didn't care much. Next day at 0800, when I was about to go out I paid for the room […] service and informed reception if I'm stuck in the traffic and can not come back, I can inform over phone that I'm checking out. I repeatedly told them I might come back before my check-out time. Reception said no problem. I came back at 1030. Reception people changed and a middle aged person along with a female advised that I've been checked out and said I need to pay if I want to get in. After some argument (it was 11 now), they rang the 8 AM shift guy. Not sure what they spoke, but then told me that I should not have paid and should have left my stuff in the room. Some more argument (he kept saying..you don't understand..why did you pay) and now I can stay for 1 hr and they can put me in one of the rooms (not mine) which was not done by housekeeping yet. Later they realized that my room was not done either so they let me stay for 1 hr (until 12 PM). I kept on saying it was your fault..he stares at you, but no apologies whatsoever Les mer

The hotel is on a busy street and if you're a light sleeper you don't want a room that look out on the front street. The room was decent, not a lot of room or very fancy, but clean and had all the necessities. Food was good and the room service was very friendly. Front desk was very helpful in making travel/sightseeing arrangements for us.

Its location is a bit scary for people like us, and those who come from the more developed countries. Nevertheless, it's all right if you come here just for a night stay. Services are friendly and good. Cleanliness of the hotel and the room is 5-star. I felt very welcome when I went there. A reasonable choice!

This is a budget hotel, but given that, it is excellent value for money. The rooms are very clean and the restaurant is decent. The only drawback (for some people) would be the immediate neighborhood -- there is a lot of hustle and bustle on the street, but I felt safe and the noise wasn't all that bothersome.
