This was a great hotel on Mont Saint Michel , our room had a great view of the water and the monastery. I would recommend this hotel . Staying on the island is a must , at night there are a lot less people . was great waking in the am without the crowds

Staying on beautiful Mont St. Michel is a delightful experience and perhaps surprisingly, great in winter. Only a few tourists and none of the summer crowds and yes some of the restaurants and shops are closed but after the day trippers leave you feel that you have the island to yourself. Le Mouton Blanc is well situated within the walls of Le Mont. The room was basic but comfortable and clean. Bathroom was small, but everything worked so it suited our purposes (we weren't there to spend much time in our room). No bar fridge (this was something we would have used, as drinks in the local restaurants and bars were expensive). Very steep […] stairs made getting the luggage to our room a bit of a workout! Staff were friendly and helpful, and service in the restaurant was good. Unfortunately, all the restaurants seem to offer a similar menu, so choices are limited. Beware light sleepers - this is an old hotel and not terribly soundproof. We could hear water running in other rooms, and activity from the passage was quite loud. I thought the Hotel Mouton Blanc was an excellent choice for an overnight stay on Mont-Saint Michel. It's right one the main street, so it was easy to find, and the room and staff were both excellent.

The hotel is right on Mont Saint Michel which we wanted for the "magical" experience. The hotel itself was pretty rustic and a bit run down. Walls very thin, we could hear our neighbors alarm go off in the morning, as well as every other noise. Our room overlooked the main pedestrian street which was interesting but at night when everyone was coming […] home from bars, restaurants, it was very disruptive as we tried to sleep. Perhaps a room on the back would have been better. The bed was comfortable. If we had to do it again, we would not stay on the Mont, as the shuttles run back and forth til 11pm. We wanted to see it after dark, which we could have achieved without the cost of staying on the island and the very expensive food services. 20 Euro for an omlette and 6 Euro for a cup of coffee seems a bit pricey. If we hadn't had our hotel in Bayeux call and ask about parking, which required a special code, we would have been very frustrated when we arrived. Parking was 8.50 Euro. Les mer

Room was small which was fine, but the room smelled strongly of urine when the bathroom door was open. I would imagine there is no plumbing to speak of. Probably would have been better off at a hotel on the other side of the causeway.

The hotel is accessed by a cobbled street on foot and is surrounded by other centuries old structures. The friendly and prompt service made our stay a pleasure. Fantastic location--totally unique--and it's great be on the island after all the day tourists have left. However, online booking info and confirmation did not mention how & where you park (you need a parking code from the hotel in advance just to get into the parking lot) and the convenient shuttle service down the causeway (just for hotels on the […] island). Being on the island is the key, and since the hotel was so historic, we didn't expect a lot of comfort or amenities in the room, but it was certainly adequate. The staff was great. it was such a pleasure to be able to walk around the island without the sea of people you get during the day. The hotels provide a special bus for overnight guests from the […] parking lot. We didn't realize (our mistake) that you should repack your bags and only bring the bare essentials for your stay on the island so you don't have to haul too much.Since the best view of the island is from the causeway, and since buses run late into the evening from the hotels on the other side, we would recommend a stay at one of those hotels instead of on the island, and take the bus over for the evening walk around. I would stay off island again, pay less for more and vist the island mid p.m. to avoid crowds.

There was no air conditioning so we had to keep window open. This was fine for the breeze and no bug problem, but the noise at night from tourists up and down the small street was a problem and then the workers came out later and caused the same noise problem. Did love staying on right on the island of MSM.

Room was in an annexe away from main hotel, and was small for a double. This is probably to be expected from a hotel within Mont St Michel itself.

Staying at Hotel le Mouton Blanc was a great experience. The hotel is a 13th of 14th century building, and really adds to the whole experience of being in such a historical area. This hotel was INCREDIBLE! Just be sure to contact them ahead of time to get your parking pass, but parking was reasonably priced and the shuttle was free. Remember to pack a light bag as you have to lug it up a rather steep street to get to the hotel, then up a flight of stairs inside (no elevator). But the hotel and especially the room with its exposed […] beams, half-timbered wall, and beautiful windows was worth it! The only downside: the windows didn't do anything to block out the sound of the forklift delivering supplies to surrounding buildings at 5am. Lovely greeting upon arrival. Held restaurant open allowing us to have dinner even though we arrived at their usual closing time. Room was adequate and quaint. Peaceful rest in charming enviroment. This hotel was perfect for what we needed while visiting Mont St. Michel. The staff were all nice and accommodating and the hotel is cute and tucked right in along the bustling pedestrian street. We stayed on the top floor room 106 (107 is located on top too) and I would highly recommend getting a room up top if you can handle the stairs. The room had […] really high ceilings and both windows looked over rooftops instead of into another hotel room. The room was LOUD but I think they all are loud due to the shops and foot traffic all around. The hotel seemed much nicer than the hotels off the island and it is very cool to wander around during dusk when all the tour buses have left. The terrace restaurant in the hotel is casual with okay food and an amazing view. The room was tiny but I think they all are and it is perfect for one or two nights. Les mer

The hotel location is perfect to enjoy Mont Saint Michel . The character and atmosphere of the hotel fits the location perfectly. Please note this hotel has a lot of stairs to climb to reach the rooms and may not suitable for everyone. But climb is well worth it.

WE STAYED IN ROOM 308 - THE ANNEXURE. WHAT A ROOM! WE HAD 2 DOUBLE BEDS AND A WINDOW OVER THE BAY ON THE ONE SIDE AS WELL AS A WINDOW OVER THE ABBEY ON THE OTHER SIDE. The hotel was fine -- carrying suitcase up the hill to the hotel was not. Also, once in the hotel it was 3 flights up with the suitcase. I do think that for guests staying overnight some type of arrangement should be made where you can drop off your luggage at the foot of the Grand Rue and have it delivered to your room. Great location. Room average size. Bathroom had odour of mildew. Breakfast OK value, standard fare of croissants, baguet, fruit preserves, juice, coffee, ham, package cheese, yogourt. Beds ok, not great. Room was not with hotel proper, but about 50 meters up the street.

The thing to do is go there--3-4 hours is plenty, and then get out and stay elsewhere. We spent two nights at le Mouton Blanc and loved the experience. Staying on the island allows you to enjoy Mont Sant Michel without the day crowds. A real value for the price. Room 105 was large, brght and comfortable. They do not have a receptionist through the night so be sure to check-in early in the evening. Highly recommend this hotel.

In particular the size and comfort of the room isn't what you would get for the same money in other locations, and noise from other rooms and the street is an issue. Adorable hotel, great location, excellent restaurant. Rooms cozy and simple but charming. One person in our party had major trouble with street noise in room 101, a really cute room on the front. Staff wasn't sure how to work the heater in my room. Free wifi welcome, worked well when you could get in but multiple users made access uneven.

This is a very charming nice little hotel in a great location right on the mountain and not too far up so you won't have to carry your luggage too far. The only serious issue that we faced was the noise in the early morning coming from the streets (garbage collectors and tourists on the main street under our windows), the other rooms, from everywhere […] :). The thing is that if you want to see MSM without the hordes, you have to stay on the island (and it is also super cool to stroll the ramparts at night). I don't know what the other hotels are like, but there are only a few. This one was certainly nice enough- it was timbered and had a big window looking out onto the alleyway (the entrance into the village) […] which was very cool. The staff were very friendly and attentive. We ate dinner in the hotel, and it was very good. But the room is pretty basic. There was some peeling paint, and the bathroom/water did not smell very nice- but I assume that these are simply elements of being in an ancient building on a little island. Our door lock did not work- but we discovered this late and did not report it to the desk in the morning- the island is small, and the hotel quite secure, so we felt safe. Overall, my advice would be: stay on the island, be prepared for lots of stairs, ignore the cheesy tourist shops, and expect a basic room. And I think the Mouton Blanc will do just fine! Les mer

Check-in time at 16.00 was late, it should be at least 15.00.(too cold for killing time in December). Hotel room was in a different building from the reception house. Room was very calm, tiny, dark and TV didn't work.Breakfast was very very simple. No vegs.

Considering you're on a medieval fortress isle off the coast of Normandy and the buildings are so very old the cleanliness / condition of the rooms is actually charming... the uneven walls and angles of roof etc made it memorable and unique. I have always dreamed of visiting Mont St. Michel. Thanks to this hotel, we were able to stay the night on the island! The island was easy to find and easy to park. One must wheel their luggage quite a way to the hotel however it is not a difficult walk. The hotel room decor was very outdated. But, short of that the service and quality and location […] was perfect. We were able to walk around the island at night due to the proximity of the hotel. I would highly recomend this hotel to anyone who wants a comfortable and decent priced hotel on the island. It appears the hotel was park of the old church building at one time which added a little historical flare to our stay. If staying you must go on the monastary tour. You will not be dissapointed. Wonderful location near steps to Abbey, and nearby cafes and shops. Contains variety of restaurants, with pretty good breakfast. The Terrace Restaurant has views over Bay so visitors can see the waters receding, pilgrims wading across in the shallow bay, and the waters coming in at night.
