Pleasant Valley Motel West Sto - West Stockbridge

If you're looking for a safe, clean, decent place to sleep for the least cost, this is it. No frills whatsoever, but it met my needs for a place to crash while in the Berkshires for a couple of days, and only a nominal fee per night for my dog.

The price was incredible, the owners/staff very friendly and helpful. The room was absolutely clean with some nice personal touches (I believe it's a family owned motel). We had a couple of issues: cold water which was addressed immediately; loose tiles in the bathroom floor. Otherwise it was great as a room used as a jumping point for sight seeing […] . Les mer

This motel is within spitting distance of.90 and was therefore very noisy all night from truck noise. The owner was extremely nice and accommodating. Eat breakfast somewhere else. There was only corn flakes and Cheerios to eat land there was something floating in the milk, which was left on the counter without being in a thermal container or over ice. […] That being said if you just need a warm bed it's not a bad place Les mer

I was wonderfully surprised to see the rooms I reserved for my family. The Beds were very comfortable. The rooms were clean and Neat. I would definetly stay here again.

I was quite impressed with this location. At first, I had no idea what to expect given what I was paying. I was greeted very nicely by Nick, who welcomed me, and sent me off to the room - stating that there would be coffee, tea, and cereal in the morning if I desired. Pleasantly pleased with this motel. It was very clean and comfortable. Beautiful location! Only downside was that you could sometimes hear the highway and it could definately use a coffeepot in the room. Staff were very nice.

This hotel is the least expensive one in this exclusive resort area of the Berkshires. It is located in exactly the right place to stop after a long day of driving on our way from Ohio to Maine. While the decor is dated and the rooms are small, there have been some improvements made (new bathroom fixtures and floor coverings). Motel is a series of modular cabins built in the 50s. The owners are remodeling, but the smoke and mildew of decades linger, land the remodeling is in slow progress

If you're looking for a budget place to sleep and shower, this place is perfect! Management very kind and thoughtful; room was nothing fancy but clean and comfortable enough and everything worked. For the price I was suprised the room was so clean and tidy. It had a microwave, stove and sink, hair dryer if one needed, everything worked fine. We had breakfast at the office (there are chairs and tables on the patio out front to eat also). It was a simple breakfast..just help yourself (coffee, juice, and cerial) which I liked being that I just wanted […] to wake up and chat with my partner. The couple who run the hotel are exceptionally accommodating and it is an excellent value.

Price was very right, $10 extra for our small dog. Very basic place to stay...saw a lot of contractor trucks and a few mini BBQ's, so it must be fine for the per diem guys. Sheets & towels and bathroom were clean but the "velum" blanket was a little "oily" at the top....nice to wash them a little more often. Don't forget that it is 200 yds from #1 Exit […] on the Mass Pike...can you say J Brake? Keep the air conditioner on high and there is no other noise. My fiance grew up in this area and we went up to visit family over Labor Day weekend. I've travelled quite extensively (he hasn't) and was very surprised (?shocked) when he opened the door to this motel room. Before reading further just know that this is a GOOD review from a motel snob. 1. The family who owns this property is VERY pleasant and wants […] your stay to be enjoyable. 2. The room was VERY clean. The tub/shower and bath fixtures looked brand new, thats how clean it was. 3. There was a tv (cable too), microwave, fridge, iron, air conditioner and hairdryer; all which worked perfectly. 4. The bed was not perfect but it surely was comfy enough for 3 nights. Mind you, I sleep on a rediculously overpriced mattress at home...so...take my comment for what it's worth. 5. The grounds were immaculate. The family who owns this place must truly love it! 6. There were fresh bagels, cereal, muffins, fruit, juice and coffee out on the front deck in the morning. When I first got there I was stunned...again, I'll mention what a high-end snot I must be. By the time I left...taking everything into account...I will tell you that I would happily stay there again. You can't beat the price, you can't beat the kindness of the owners, the location was perfect and for an older motel, you can not beat how clean it really is. We will be back next year for sure. Stopped at Pleasant Valley for one night, meeting family at a half way point. The site was right off the Mass Pike and close to many restauarants and popular sights. The hotel itself is tired and the electrical connections a bit scary but everything was clean; the bathroom was OK but the tub needs replacing tho the toilet was new and sink and faucets/counter/flooring […] looked new too. I slept well, had a bare-bones con br and moved on. I do rec this hotel for visits when you'll be using the room only to sleep. Les mer

the motel is in dire need of renovation...at least the rooms need a paint job...also very noisy location. would not recommend it to anyone I cared about, nor would I EVER stay there again. Realize that the price for the night stay was inexpensive, but that was all it had going for it.

Excellent location right off exit 1 of the Mass Turnpike and 10 min. from Tanglewood. Simple room, clean and inexpensive.

We had a lovely stay at the pleasant valley -- the owners are very sweet and go out of their way to please. The ice machine wasn't working but they supplied us with a big bucket of ice from their own supply. It's not the Ritz but everything was very clean and the bed was surprisingly comfortable -- and for the area, you can not beat the price. The weather […] wasn't the best so I was dissapointed i couldn't try the pool but it was well-maintained and, again, very clean. We came up for Tanglewood and the motel is less than a 10 minute drive -- very convenient. A very nice place to saty in an area that tends to be a bit pricey! Les mer

The manager (owner?) of the motel was very pleasant and eager to please. The room was clean, though we would have appreciated having the air conditioning turned on in anticipation of our arrival. This was a basic motel room. One of the beds had a distinct tilt downward from foot to head. I booked this hotel through Hotels.com and gave my debit card information to hold the reservation. When we arrived and I attempted to provide the credit card I wanted to use to pay for the room, I was told I was all set. I assumed this meant we'd pay upon check out. When I went to check out, I was told that the rooms (both mine and the friends whose […] reservation I had also booked) were already billed to my debit card, and there was no way to reverse the charges. In addition: Upon checking in we were asked if we wanted Room Service in the morning. It turns out this meant did we want maid service. As we had said no, our beds weren't made, our wastebasket wasn't emptied, and our dirty towels (we had used them at the pool) hadn't been replaced. The rooms were old but clean, as was the pool. Continental breakfast was okay. We'll probably stay here again, as the rate was good, but now that we know how they operate (as mentioned above), we'll be well informed on what to request and not request. Les mer

My wife and I head to Tanglewood once each summer. We find a hotel nearby to spend one night before driving back home. The motel staff was very nice (a family). The room was dark and had a very old and dingy feel. The shower was a hot/cold/hot/cold adventure. The room was clean. The bathroom was clean, but pretty small. The bed linens were clean. The […] bed was comfortable. Small TV. Basic cable. No coffee pot in the room. AC worked. No closet. No view. Did not use the pool. If you're a minimalist, and you're just here to sleep, this will probably fit the bill. If you're accustomed to something a little brighter, a little more up-to-date, with a little more room to spread out..... not your place. Les mer

If you're just looking for a no frills room for the night for a cheap rate then this will suit you fine. Not much in the neighborhood, but within 7 miles. The pool was clean and my wife and I enjoyed a quick dip after a long drive. 2 of the 4 lamps didn't work and and the empty coffee and only cheerios for breakfast left us to have to eat breakfast […] elsewhere. But all in all,decent enough room for the money, had a microwave and a fridge which I always think are good ammenities. Les mer

We were a little apprehensive about this motel with some of the previous reviews about broken bathroom fixtures and musty smells,etc. The low price was a concern as well. We were pleasantly surprised, however. Our room (#9) was clean and well equipped. The staff was polite and accommodating. We just needed a place to hang our hat while in town for […] a road race at Tanglewood. The ride was 12 minutes away and mean't we could come back to the room afterwards to shower and change before heading home. The staff thought we'd left and had already cleaned our room but they did not object when they realized we were back before the checkout time. My only complaint: No ice in the ice bin--minor issue. This is a no-frills, economical but generally clean and well-maintained motel convenient to the Mass Pike and Berkshires attractions.

Nice and Clean!! Friendly Mom and Pop Motel which is convenient to everything at an affordable price!!

The room was tiny and the furnishings were pretty shabby. The deadbolt on the entrance door did not work. The beds were hard. We had the last available room so we did not complain. You get what you pay for.

Great place to stay---very inexpensive and so there was nothing fancy about it but a very comfortable place to stop for a night on a road trip. Rooms were dark but clean and the beds were very comfortable. Family that owned it was friendly and helpful, although we just needed a place to crash so we didn't ask much of them. The location was convenient and the price very reasonable. However, the AC was not turned on in the lobby, and it was a hot day. I didn't like sweltering while I checked in. I had expected the AC and refrigerator in my room to be running, but they were not even plugged in. The innkeeper sensed that I did not like the room and graciously moved me to […] another which I liked better. However, not only were the AC and refrigerator not plugged in, neither were the reading lamps by the beds! The innkeeper quickly plugged everything in, and the room shortly became comfortable. Inschattingsfout gemaakt. Voor de prijs konden we niet veel verwachten. Smoezelig uiterlijk, hoewel het wel schoon was. Lawaai van de Turnpike vrijwel naast de lodge was hinderlijk. Personeel was vriendelijk.

Altes, recht runtergekommenes Motel, aber sehr nette Leute. Die Alternativen in der Umgebung sind aber häufig deutlich teurer. Sehr nah zum Tanglewood Festival. Ich war nur eine Nacht dort, und dafür war es OK.
