Kings Arms Inn - Oakham

The room was very comfortable. Had no hot water but this was fixed within 10 mins of notifying the owners. The food was of a very high quality all freshly prepared, locally sourced. Good value for money, would definitely return for another stay. Lots to do locally if you enjoy walking.

Stayed before & I'd stay again. The location is pretty but the quality of the food will be remembered. The rump steak was one of the best I've ever had.

The place is awkward to find, and the postcode brings you to a completely different address when you put it into your GPS. We arrived about 10pm on Monday evening, and our keys were left out for us, but it took us 20 minutes to find out room as there was no lighting around the outside, and I ultimately used my phone as a torch. The restaurant was lovely […] and the food was amazing, but they only had two waitresses on who were rushed off their feet, so service was slow. Would go back to the restaurant, but wouldn't stay there again Les mer

We enjoyed our stay- the restaurant in the pub is really excellent with ingredients sourced locally. The staff were helpful & friendly. The Inn has chickens out back which entertained the kids while we packed the car. The rooms are in a separate set of cottages which have been sympathetically restored, the room decor is basic but OK & the setting is […] gorgeous. As a regular user of city hotels for business, I decided to try the Kings Arms as , although I was on business, I only needed to be within 2 hours of my customer. Great decision. Hotel is in a lovely little village 5 miles outside Oakham. Beautiful countryside close to Rutland Water. Hotel staff very friendly, hotel food very good and great to have […] a bar without any TV or music screaming at you. If you don't need instant access to the big towns then give this place a try, you won't be disappointed.There is even free Wi-Fi which the big boys usually charge for. Not many places like this left and they deserve to be kept going through your custom. Les mer

I and my partner both realy enjoyed our short stay and whish it could have been longer. The food is all locally sourced and excellent. The rooms very clean comfotable with adequate facilities. The staff very friendly and polite all in all a very enjoyable weekend. We would both definitely return.

We stayed for one night and on checking in met the very friendly and hard working Aly. She showed us to our room which was quaint, spacious and very comfortable. It was so nice to stay somewhere and drink in a pub that wasnt a chain! With a great selection of local produce and drinks we sat in the cosy bar and relaxed. We then went and had a comfortable […] nights sleep in the bed. The rooms are set to be updated in Early 2011 and we cant wait to see what they will do with them! We then had the most gorgeous breakfast cooked by James and checked out. All the food is from local produce, the eggs for example were from the farm next door and the haddock is smoked on site! How it was in the old days but very clean and fab service. We couldnt fault the Kings Arms Inn and really want to go back, i just wish we had made it for dinner that night! I would recommend this for anyone. The rooms are good value for money at the moment albeit the shower was a little small for the other half but in all i would highly recommend it for the experience alone! Les mer

The single room very clean but was so small for a 4 star hotel. The bed was also very small even for a small size lady to sleep in. The hotel staff used to be more friendly a years ago. But the food continued to be very good!!
