Enjoyed our stay at the Old Mill. Rooms very clean and good breakfast. Picturesque location with lovely walk into Bath along the canal. Would recommend.

We stayed in the hotel for 1 night. There was a horrible beeping/ alarm noise coming from the corridor, very loud even in the room. We were told it was temporarily but heard it the following morning too. And around 6.30am the bin man dragged the bins down right outside our window. I requested a water mill/ garden view room but sadly got the ground floor […] room facing the car park. Lovely service, great food but sadly all the noise made our stay a rather unpleasant one. LOCATION : Absolutely Stunning, Great Views. STAFF were generally helpful, except for the gentleman on the reception when we booked in, who came across aloof and obnoxious, kept stressing that I booked from the internet like it was a social disease, beware of the wine on the dressing table it is not complimentary, you have to pay for it THE ROOM - Don't […] Bother, so small you couldn't swing a very small ant let alone a cat. Had to store our case and clothes in the car as there was no room and the wardrobe was damp. BATHROOM Nice size but the shower was blocked and my wife had to call a member of staff to turn off the shower when the bathroom nearly flooded. FOOD - Breakfast was poor, supposed to be a Buffet but as soon as you approached a member of staff appeared grabbed a plate and gave you the food you required. Sausages were very nice but everything else, especially the eggs(only scrambled available) were less than Average... OVERALL - Disappointingly poor, lovely location, terrible room, most of the staff pleasant and helpful. Opportunity Missed could have been great Les mer

When we arrived we were advised we were staying in a separate building which was not very attractive from the outside. It had white UPVC windows & doors. It looked more like flats. The rooms were quite small. It listed that a hairdryer was available in the rooms yet there was none in ours. I went to reception to ask for one & they advised someone would […] come to us. After waiting 40 mins I went to ask again as I needed to get ready to go out & they advised there was no one available that could help at that time. I insisted I needed the hairdryer and they allowed access to another room to use the hairdryer only. They were then apologetic after this had happened. The full English breakfast was not edible, it was cold and nasty. I had cereal instead and left the breakfast. The only positives were that it was clean and the parking. Les mer

overall really good standards in the room, bathroom but no mattress cover/protector & bed not made well, bottom sheet come loss during the night. Breakfast good considering it was a buffet with a good choice of items.

Room was booked last minute, very cheap for bed and breakfast, had a lodge room with a view of the canal, comfy bed, nice and warm- good facilities and excellent shower - very clean. Only problem is 10 min drive away from town but reception ordered a very efficient taxi service that got us there and back. Will definitely stay again.

Overall this was a good stay and the hotel lived up to expectations. Rooms were small but had everything you needed and were very clean. The beds could have been a bit more comfortable and could have done with a duvet rather than just sheets and a blanket. However, the rooms were well heated so this wasn't a major issue. As other reviewers have said, this hotel is in an attractive location by the river. There are good views from the restaurant, although obviously not from every room. It is useful to have a car park, although it is most suited to smaller cars. The hotel is just one side of a small toll bridge, which means that entering or leaving the car park can be […] a bit awkward at busy times. The rooms in the main building are finished to a decent standard and are clean. Breakfast is fine- it appears to be a buffet, but in fact they stand there and operate the toaster for you, as well as serving up the cooked element. We stayed at the Old Mill for a single night, being housed in the small annexe block. These rooms are clean and modern but very small - being not much larger than the double bed. The car parking is free (unlike some town centre hotels) However, the car park is quite small and narrow - so if the hotel is fully booked it could be quite tricky.

The staff is friendly. The hotel is very clean. I really loved the view over the river from the veranda where the breakfast is served. Too bad the room was little and the bed wasn't comfortable... I would recommend this hotel for a short stay.

The hotel location is nice, rooms are pretty small but clean (including the bathroom), breakfast (£10 / person) is pretty good. This hotel has a good value overall, I would recommend it without hesitation!

service of the staff especially in the restaurant is very poor. management should consider sending their staff into customer service training/seminar because the staff, especially in the restaurant, may have forgotten that they are in the hotel service business. service is very very poor! a typical bed & breakfast hotel serves buffet. don't expect […] a satisfying breakfast/dinner with this hotel because they will only give you food limited to what and how much the staff wants. each room is not sound proof. you would hear the noise of the other guests on the adjacent room. We booked the hotel for its location to an event we were hosting and from thatperspective it was great. Unfortunately that was all that was great about it. The lodge room was tiny although strangely had a double shower?! It was clean but was very difficult to move around in. Breakfast food was fine but the sour milk we were served did rather put us […] off. It was replaced eventually but we felt like it was an inconvenience. This hotel is located in.a.lovely setting but the lodge rooms are so ugly and small with poor view from.windows of.rubbish and portable buildings.this is the worst hotel I have ever stayed in.the place would ne better with proper management and reception staff that showed they cared.

First things first. When we went to the hotel in December 2012, the nearby river Avon had flooded and caused lots of upheaval for the staff. Notwithstanding that, they managed to turn what could be a very nice place to stay into one i wouldnt visit again if you paid me! The lodge room we were in was basic to say the least: 1) The shower could only be […] turned on and offby someone with the strength of a body builder. 2) The digital TV reception was abysmal 3) The breakfast was run from a buffet due to the kitchen being flooded and this too was not even as good as greasy-spoon (especially if you were vegetarian!) 4) The icing on the cake was that there was a half-bottle of wine atop of our bedside cabinet which i assumed to be a complimentary gift from the hotel, only to be charged for it when i returned home. After i complained i was informed that i should have read the price list before assuming the wine was a gift! I believe this to be a very crafty ploy - i wonder how many people have been stung the same way?! Anyway to sum up - look for somewhere else. The river views are lovely but it isnt worth it. The location is fantastic being on the River Avon and the views are spectacular! Unfortunately it was flooding during our stay causing some problems. Rooms are small, carpets well worn/stained and the beds were very uncomfortable. Staff were very helpful, but my booking was messed up and they had to give me an extra room. The rooms are too close so you can literary hear every word your neighbors say. It's not that convenient and doesn't worth the money paid for.

We booked the superior double room well in advance of our stay and were really pleased with the room we received - it had a 4 poster bed, lots of storage space, 2 mirrors, a fridge and we had a great view overlooking the stunning mill and the river Avon. Was very pleased as it made for a lovely stay. The hotel was ina great location too as it was only […] a 3-5 minute walk from the bus stop with frequent services into Bath itself - much better than driving and having to pay for all-day parking. A really really lovely stay near to a river where it is very nice and peaceful. The only bad thing was it was out with bath city centre,however that is not the fault of the hotel. Location is a bit out of the way and car access is cramped but it is clean and comfortable and better than one might think from first impressions. The breakfast was disappointing. We needed somewhere to stay before and after a wedding and it served this purpose well.

We arrived in the late afternnon of a Sunday and were disappointed to find that the room described as overlooking the garden or river was actually in the centre of an annexe overlooking the car park which became very crowded later in the evening. The room was warm on arrival and therefore comfortable but space was very limited and the only place to […] sit was on the bed. On finding that the wi-fi was available at a charge of £2.40 per hour we decided to do without and because of this decided to eat out in Bath instead of trying the hotel's italian restaurant and instead drove into Bath where there is a good selection of restaurants to choose from. On retiring I found that my side of the bed was badly worn and that the springs were noisy and weak. The breakfast was good but the sausage was not to everyone's liking tasting quite strongly of, I believe, sage and the fried eggs were overdone but there was plenty of it. Les mer

The hotel has nice surroundings just outside Bath on the river Avon. We had a reunion and our own room was a little tight with twin beds. That said it was perfect for what we needed. The hotel staff in the bar and reception were exceptional. You asked and they tried to help. They are great. A big thank you and we had a great weekend.

Nice location just out of Bath, bed squeaked but comfortable clean bathroom but shower did not work well and tap was loose, was told that when i checked in! Apalling, the room was too small, dated and paper thin walls. We had no hot water and when we approached the staff they were indifferent and really didn't care. The waitresses in the dinning room looked miserable and we always had to try and get their attention they never once came willingly to our table. Our stay was too short but lovely! We arrived very late but the staff was very pleasant about it all and even changed our room when we wanted 2 single beds instead of a double. We were pleasantly surprised by the view around the hotel and the breakfast spread was good. At breakfast, our view from our table was of the old mill and the river...perfect! Not […] sure if we didn't know how to operate the shower, but there was no hot water for shower..so we showered with cold water - woke up all of our senses! Hotel needs some refurb.-some dining chairs are ripped/worn.Tables need resurfacing. Lodge rooms small but very clean and you can hear noise from other rooms and car park very easily.Staying several nights opt for upgrade in main hotel building. The breakfasts were very acceptable. The Hotel itself was nice but we arrived at there at 10.30am only to find out that we couldn't check in until 3.00pm i've never ever had this late a check in ever. Because of this we decided to get a bus into Bath because the boats were out of season. When we got back to the hotel at 11.00pm we at first couldn't get into our room because the electronic […] key wouldn't work, after 2 visits downstairs to reception we eventually got in. We were very tired at the time and because of not being able to check the room before hand we found there was only one tiny pillow each, so not wanting to go back to reception a further time i had to have a very uncomfortable night sleeping with one pillow. If you want to spend time in Bath itself i would use a hotel closer to the town. Les mer
