"great except internet needs upgrading"
clean rooms, staff was great, they had a sup continental breakfast, the only thing is you have to plug in your computer to the internet, and it sometimes cuts out, and the latter may have been due to a storm, otherwise ecommend the Motel.

Excellent place to begin and end our group cycling trip on PEI. Very friendly and accomodating staff and reasonably priced and delicious food at the restaurant/pub on the property.

We had an amazing time in PEI and adding to your wonderful experience was being able to stay in a great hotel. This place was perfect. Very clean, comfortable and central location. We would definitely stay here again. It was also a pleasure to be able to book online and hotels.com made that very easy to do. Thank you very much.
Lovely little hotel. It was very confortable, clean and easy to get to downtown. It also was very reasonably priced and I would highly recommend it to others.

Helpful staff, nice breakfast. Short drive into the city. Rooms were clean and a decent size. No complaints at all and at a reasonable price.

"Filthy Room but was satisfied in the end."
When we arrived at the hotel we were greeted by an extremely nice young lady. When we got into our room we were quite shocked. There was an immediate odor of mildew. The room had obviously not been updated for a very long time or not at all.. When I turned on the air conditioner I noticed a huge water stain and peeling paint around the unit. The beds […] were extremely soft and I did not feel that the room had been well cleaned at all. When I went to the desk to complain about the room she immediately moved us to a very nice room in their main building. I am sure that it was in a higher price category. This young lady was fantastic and totally professional. I only worry that had the hotel been full we would have been forced to stay in the room we first checked into. As someone who worked in the service industry for almost 20 years I am always impressed with someone who fixes a problem and does it with a smile. Les mer

The maintenance and cleaniness of this hotel left a bit to be desired. When we checked in to our room the housekeeping was still cleaning other rooms and there was a bed with dirty bed linens in the parking lot right next to our room. There was someone else's leftover food in the freezer, obviously had not been cleaned out. The air conditioner was […] not effective and when we opened the cover to look at the filter we could see why. It was very dirty and covered with hair and dust. The place was just not very clean. Right on a very busy highway. Wouldn't stay again or recommend. Les mer
"Canada's Best Valu Inn & Suites, Charlottetown PEI"
The one thing going for this motel is the price, the complementary breakfast and the direct access via University Ave. to downtown. The suites seem non-existant. There is a small refrigerator and a microwave there but I don't think that qualifies as a suite. There was no cutlery, dishes to go with it. The room we had was cramped with two queen-sized […] beds so that you had to sidle around the end of one to get into the bathroom. The renovations have been done in an amateurish way in that joints are rough and caulking is all over. The housekeeping was barely adequate. One day we only had the bed made, no clean replacement towels or facecloths left and the wastebaskets not emptied. I can't say I would recommend this place without giving all the above as disclaimers. Les mer
"Wouldn't recommend"
At first, the hotel seemed pretty good. Just an average hotel nothing fancy but not a dump. The hotel stated they had recent renos but once in my room you could see the renovations and the sloppy job. It looked like a child painted the shelves and things. It was also very noisy from the outside and neighbouring rooms. The end table, lights and sitting […] table were dusty and my towels had a blue stain (the resembled a marker stain) and then also a black stain on 2 out of 4 facecloths. The 2 chairs in the room by the table were in need of some re-upholstering. The cloth was faded and torn in a few spots. The only plus to the hotel was that the Charlottetown Mall, Walmart etc were directly behind it. Les mer

A very old and run down motel. You got what you paid for, as it was the cheapest in the Charlottetown area.

Apparently it has recently been renovated. Either way the price was the best around and the room was beautiful! VERY SATISFIED.

"It was just ok."
The location was fine.
"Best Value? Maybe"
The price of the motel was competitive. We were told at checkin that we were in an economy section since we booked on line. It looked like the building they put us in was the original one. The room was basic, old world motel. The breakfast was the highlight with all the normal continental breakfast items plus some nice muffins, yogurt, and waffles.

"A little surprised"
We were pleasantly surprised by our accomodation at this hotel. We were in the new section that has a flat screen TV and been recently renovated. We also booked a room for a friend and unfortunately, their room was in the old motel section which has not been renovated. It was old and not well kept. The property is being renovated and we had one that was not done yet. It was clean presentable and worth the rate. One problem was the air conditioner, it was new but not the proper style to be wall mounted and built up water inside because it did not drain properly. This lead to the fan running in the water and making a noise which got irritating. […] Maintenance got it draining better so the second night wasn't problematic. Other than that the staff were helpful and friendly, the continental breakfast was quite acceptable and the hotel had a pub on site and we were there the night they served free mussels so that was a bonus after a pretty good pub meal. "Thought it was great!"
The rate was the best one I could find in Charlottetown. Because the cost was so much better than the others, I was a little bit worried about the condition of our room, but it was wonderful. Clean and comfortable. I would definitely stay there again.
