Mayfield Hotel - Guest House - Bournemouth

Enkle rom med enkelt bad. God seng, grei rengjøring. God frokost i lite, men koselig, frokostrom. Ca 10 min gange til strand, ca 20 min gange til sentrum. Stort sett uproblematisk å finne parkering i gaten. Stille område uten plagsom trafikkstøy.

Once you manage to get into the room, there is very little wrong with it. Considering it is a budget hotel it is quite comfortable and you have everything you need. However, before you can get into the room, you have to go to collect the key from another location a little down the road. At this location, you are 'greeted' with suspicion and asked to […] sign various small pieces of paper confirming you will not be acting in an anti-social way. You will also have to pay a cash deposit for your room key. I did not remember seeing this when I booked and if I had not had the cash with me, I would have been put out as I had just driven for 4 hours. Still it was good accommodation for the money and in a reasonably nice student-centred location. Les mer

The hotel itself was comfortable and very clean However the key must be obtained from another property in an adjacent road, which was rather a drag with heavy suitcases.

Basic room in a basic hotel, had to go around the corner to get keys. Bit of a pain but never mind. Breakfast was ok. Nothing special at all. Won't be rushing back here.

After booking a twin room with en-suite(for me and my 9 yr old daughter),was then informed in an e-mail that this was not the case and that the room had a detached bathroom !!? Arriving at the hotel and then collecting our keys from another hotel !! we then proceeded to our room. Noticed that there was no toilet or sink in the room and that the detached […] bathroom was in fact down the corridor pass 3 other rooms,not impressed..!!! The hotel other amenities were ok , but the worse part of our 5 night stay was the NOISY guests(different ones !!) which allowed us only 2 nights decent sleep. All in all I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone unless they can sleep through a lot of noise !!! and be aware when booking. that an inferior room is not supplied. Les mer

What the guest house lacks in modernity is certainly made up for in attention to detail. The place tells me that the owner does care about his guests.The hotel is basic, but comfortable and effort is made to provide additional information to assist with getting around Bournemouth.Would I stay again? The answer has to be yes.

stayed on 2 occasion for total of 3 nights,the couple who managed the hotel for the owner who owned another hotel 100 metres away were excellent and very helpful, however it was necessary to go to the owners hotel to check in and book out -- a decided inconvenience. On booking out I asked if i could stay with my bags in his reception area until i had […] to catch the bus which he readily agreed to and turned on the telly, but when I requested to use the toilet prior to departure he refused and told me to use the public toilet in the adjacent park. We enjoyed our one night stay at this hotel. It was a great location, just a short walk to the beach. It did look rather shabby from outside and we thought it odd that we had to book in and collect our room key from a nearby hotel. So glad I found this hotel, couldn't fault it at all, lovely room and great breakfast. Very good location close to bus/train station and not far to walk to beach and town centre. Very welcoming staff, couldn't do enough for you. I've stayed in a lot of hotels and this has been the most pleasant experience. Bedroom was small a loft conversion which made it stuffy, toilet located at the end of the corridor past 3 more bedrooms. Accomodation was clean, beds were comfortable, but room was overcrowded with furniture and accessories. Wallpaper and decor throughout was 'unusua'l, not the usual magnolia. Hotelli oli kohtuullisen siisti kaiketi, mutta vaikutti epäsiistiltä johtuen vanhoista ja likaisista kokolattiamatoista sekä kirjavasta tapetoinnista. Suihku/vessa oli epämiellyttävä. Suihku oli lähinnä vitsi, paine ei juurikaan riittänyt, jotta olisi kunnon suihkun saanut. Sängyt erittäin epämukavat ja huone todella pieni perhehuoneeksi. Hotellet er OK Bed and Breakfast, og ligger godt for ture til strand, nationalpark og Stonehenge( i bil), men nattelivet er råt, så gå ikke i gennem parken om natten.
