Budget Inn Oregon City/Portland - Gladstone

I've stayed in some truly awful hotels before, and while this one was not the "creepiest" (I didn't hear any gun shots, and only saw one drug deal)...it was without a doubt the dirtiest room. They need to spring for a new vacuum as whatever they are using apparently doesn't pick anything up, it just spreads it around. I wore white socks in the room […] for 2 hours.... I threw them away. the bottoms had literally turned black. I wiped the wooden arms of the rickety chair down with a washcloth...it to was nearly black. just awful. Not to mention the ever-present musty smell. They did provide towels, folded up all nice. I do wish they would have been fully dry instead of still damp when they stocked them...but I suppose it's the thought that counts. Les mer

The place was extremely busy with foot traffic till late at night. The shower water temperature was extremely random when surrounding rooms used the bathroom water for any reason at all. And not that it has anything to do with the hotel itself.. put the occupants of the room next to us where extremely load until late hrs. 1am or so... The staff are […] very friendly.. Les mer

Inexpensive and close easy access to where I needed to be. Nothing fancy but I was glad to have a microwave and little fridge - have paid a lot more and not got those amenities. The tub looked almost oily when I started the water, when I put my foot in it was super slick?! So I put the hand towel into the tub as a safety mat for my shower; no biggie […] but they definitely should look into providing a no-slip mat for the tubs. Good coffee but that was all that was provided and OK, they didn't say there would be anything more.Good soundproofing, comfy bed, I slept very well and was on my way! Les mer

This motel was extremely cheap, no "extra" charges. The location is perfect, easy access to the highways and attractions. There are inexpensive yet very good restaurants nearby as well as gas stations, grocery stores, etc. The staff went out of their way to accommodate us and arrange our rooms next door to each other. parking was perfect, the area safe […] and quiet at night. It was fine, and was for my son as a couple nights to himself. He said the beds were a little hard and lumpy, but he slept okay anyhow. The staff was friendly and helpful.

Changing the sign from smoking to non-smoking does not make it a non-smoking room. Bad odor.

Even though our reservation was for 3 we received only 2 towels and wash cloths for 2. We had to ask each day for the extra set and the last time they were never delivered.

The key didn't work right, we were 3 people and had 2 towels. the soap was about 2 inches long and hard and you couldn't get the shampoo packet open. It was 4th of July and a group of about 25 people, some maybe permanent tenants, including we think management were sitting at a barbeque eating and drinking, making noise and shooting off fireworks until […] way past midnight. It was clean and the bed was comfortable. We only slept there so didn't spend alot of time in the room. but it was more than adequate for what we needed. The price was good and the location very convenient to where we were going. The people in the office were very nice.

I rang the door bell twice and the bell on the counter three time before someone came to check me in. Parking in the lot was bad with large pick ups taking up two spaces and small cars parking diagonally. Parking spaces need to be visibly marked.

Hotel was convient, close to resturants, but had a odor in room. Not sure if it was air fresherner or what.

You get what you pay for... Queen size mattress pad on a King size bed. Sheets not tucked under the matress so they pull out. People knocking on your door at 2:30 in the morning with a Taxi idling right outside your room door. Not a good nights sleep.

For a one day stay we were trying to keep the cost down. For what we paid, the room was clean and adequate. The only thing I would suggest is if you are a couple or especially and older couple, ask to be placed away from any rooms that might have children. We tryed to go to bed at 10:00 pm, but had to put up with screaming, wall banging and door slamming […] until after 11:00 pm because of a family in the room next to ours. Les mer

We stayed three nights on a tight budget for a tournament. Not once were the beds made up. There were four of us and we had to ask for two more towels since only two bath towels were supplied. Low price and realitively clean but service was lacking.

I booked based completely on price...then I read the reviews...Ahhhhh!!! I expected a Crack House! NOT AT ALL!!! Please settle down everyone... It may not be the nicest of accommodations but value for the money was just fine. The staff was helpful and friendly. Housekeeping was very kind. Close to restaurants, grocery etc. I was definitely turned […] off by the number of strip clubs and adult stores on the same street as the Hotel but, hey, maybe that's your thing. This is a place to sleep not lounge. I may not stay there again now that I have explored the city but it was a fine and inexpensive accommodation. Les mer

Several things were terribly wrong right from the start and after seeing the "hotel" and the room, I REFUSED TO STAY THE NIGHT. I even took photos demonstrating the wreck: an old, filthy sofa was standing outside; the motel was in need of updating and paint; several cheap, plastic chairs stood on the walkway to the room; the room was so dimly lit that […] I couldn't even see if it had been cleaned; the wall- hung sink NO VANITY( think sleezy B movie) was outside the bathroom; the mattress was cheap with little support; the carpet and bedspread looked worn out; the "non smoking" room stunk of cigarettes . The bathroom was weird with a short , regular depth bathtub that was sunken into the floor several inches. There was little room between where the door swings shut in the bathroom and the edge of the toilet. I reviewed the accommodations and immediately went to the front desk to say it was unsatisfactory and the wife of the desk clerk said she could put me in a different room, but " they're all the same". I nearly forgot to mention the smoking man standing at the upstairs rail wearing a dirty bathrobe... left open to expose under shorts. There's a lot more, but insufficient room here to detail it. When I emphasized my extreme displeasure, the male desk clerk took a nasty attitude and wouldn't even provide a copy of the registration form. This is a DUD, folks! I'm glad I took photographs because the difference between what is advertised and the real thing is huge. Les mer

I don't stay in motels a lot. I only stayed one night. I was impressed with how clean my room was. The lady who checked me in was so friendly and nice. If I ever have to be back in that area I will being staying here. Thank you- Denise

This is a small inexpensive hotel located on a main thoroughfare and close to I5 access. The room was spotlessly clean and the staff were friendly and helpful. This hotel is also pet friendly.

This room was badly overpriced and woefully maintained. I may never stay in a Budget Inn again. Although we were assured it was a non-smoking room, it reeked of smoke. There was an ashtray in the room and there were cigarette holes in the bed linens. The bare boards sticking out from under the mattress platform were potentially very dangerous for someone […] jumping out of bed in the middle of the night. Beyond that, lampshades were stained and lights were not working. Paint was peeling and cracking. There were holes in the doors and walls, and cobwebs in all of the room corners. Under new management. Stayed here one night. It was very, very clean, basic room - just what we needed. Nothing fancy and located along a commercial strip, but the managers were really nice and it was very affordable for a quick stopover.

Unbelieveably dangourous. We should have know. room was not clean. Dirty towels on the floor, slept on th covers. took a shower in the morning and shower doesn't drain. then I stepped on what hospital told me was part of a broken hypodermic needle.. cost 10 hours in emergency and who knows how long until I find out if there were any diseases related […] to needle. For the price it was a good deal and it was relatively quiet except for the barking dog next door.

This hotel is adequate and affordable. You get what you pay for - no extras. It's not what would be called a "dump," but it's only a couple of steps above that. When you check into your room, there is one little packet of shampoo in the bathroom. No matter how many more days you stay, they never give you another packet of shampoo.
