GRAND PARK ORCHARD - Singapore

The hotel is next to some of the large shopping enters in Singapore and therefore it is possible to offload your shopping without using a taxi. The staff make you feel welcome and the bar / swimming pool is based in the lobby and is a grate place to drink a coffee and enjoy the world. On the outside wall of the hotel there is an advertising that has […] the most annoying sound that play music every 5 minutes and it can drive you crazy (might change in the future since advertisings don’t stay the same forever). Together with a mosque near by it can be noisy (I only heard the mosque once during my one week in Singapore). However in general it is a good and fresh hotel with good service. (I traveled 139 days in 2010 and seen a lot of hotels all over the world) It is good value for money and I would recommend it to families with and without children as well as business people. Modern contemporary hotel compared to most 5star hotels in Singapore which are outdated!! Amazing breakfasts, nice pool area and bar Lovely premium rooms!! Staff are really helpfully!! Cannot fault grand park orchard would definitely recommend

Location is perfect. Renovation of the hotel was good, accept the bathrooms. Old batch tub, fittings, very inconvenient shower, sink, inadequate lighting in the room. Old bed with springs protruding through. In deluxe and also in premier room. Coffee and bar located outside, without a roof. In Singapore rains all the time and humidity ins more than […] 95%. Good location, friendly staff...poor house keeping/maintenance...despite several complaints to fix a water leaking problem, they never managed to do anything proper to fix it during my week long stay... Limited choice of food in restaurants and for in room dining.

I had stayed in this hotel previously under its old name the Crown Prince, while it has been upgraded since then the general standard of the hotel has remained in tact. Disappointment started with the check in when I was told we could not have the room we booked because rooms were available on an availability basis, bookings seemed unimportant. Eventually […] they upgraded us because we refused to accept that response. That positive act was negated by the previous experience. Second issue it took a day and a half to fix a broken hot water tap on the wash hand basin in the bedroom. But this hotel could be so much more given its spectacular location in the middle of Orchard Rd. Finally a positive, a problem witha double booking on hotel respervation websites was well managed, well done to the reservation staff. Les mer

This was supposed to be an excellent hotel. First they gave us an upgrade to executive floor, thank you. The room was not as expected though. For a room on executive floor I was hoping for more space, this one was just average. Then I noticed the shower lever was broken, it actually fell off when used. Another disappointment. Next door was a construction […] site, so having some peace and quiet rest was impossible. The only best reason for this hotel was its location. Right in the heart of Orchard. Les mer

This totally refurbished hotel is smart, funky and very conveniently located. The staff from the doorman, concierge, dining rooms, reception are outstanding. Highly recommended.

My 17 yr old daughter and I spent 7 days and 6 nites at Grand Parkfrom 27/6 - 3/7/11. Front desk and porter services deserve a whole lot of praise. Our main gripe during our stay was the housekeeping standard. Not once was our carpet vacuumed and neither did we get a full of supply of towels. I had to repeatedly hunt down the chamber maids. The bathroom […] sink was not well cleaned either. I hope management will see to this as Grand Park is, after all, a 5 star hotel which ought to deliver 5 star service in all departments. Les mer

Pros: a brand new hotel. Clean, modern decor. Great location, very convenient if you're travelling to Singapore to go to Mt. Elizabeth Hospital (the infamous medical centre in Singapore). Or to shop. Big brand names are just a few minutes walk, as well as the bargain central Lucky Plaza. Concierge staff is very helpful. Doormen never fail to get us […] a cab within 2 minutes every time we need it despite the fact that this hotel does not have a taxi stand. Didn't get breakfast but my husband went down to have his and he said it's nice. Cons: the check in took a bit longer than other hotels I've stayed in for Singapore standard. Singapore hotel receptions are usually efficient, but definitely not Grand Park Orchard. They also have more staff at reception than other hotels. 2-3 receptionists just for check in/out per room. From main entrance you have to take the lift to the lobby at level 4. And after that you'll have to take a different elevator to go up to your room. This can be quite inconvenient if you you're in a hurry to leave the hotel in the morning or, even worse, to go back to your room with sore feet after hours of walking/shopping on Orchard Rd. Be aware that the taxes this hotel will charge you upon check-in are quite hefty. I had read about the tax in the terms & conditions when making my reservation but hadn't realised that it would be as much as it was. I always saw at least 1 housekeeping cart parked in our hallway even at very late or very early hours. I found this rather unusual but maybe it's just because the hotel was brand new and occupancy rate was very high. Always remember to put the "do not disturb" sign on when you're in your room. The housekeeping staff came in to our room a number of times just to check on laundry or mini bar. Les mer

My Husband and I had booked to stay at this hotel at 6 nights, we arrived from london after a 14 hour flight and were greeted with a hot towel and glass of champagne. Check in was swift and the hotel reception staff were accomodating to our needs. The hotel was impressive from the entrance and did not dissapoint once we got to the room. The room was […] beautifully decorated and the bathroom was extremely clean. Internet was free as were local calls which was a nice surprise since my husband was there on business. We had dinner at the resturant on the first night and since it was quite late the waiter served us buy the pool bar which was nice so we could enjoy the weather coming from London. The location was second to none right in the middle of Orchard Road with easy access to all the shops and many restaurants. My husband and I have stayed in many hotels in his career and he rates this in his top 3. Thank you to all the staff in particular the wonderful very helpful gentleman on the evening reception desk named John. He was so accomodating and proffessional my husband extended his trip for an extra 4 days. I would reccomend this hotel for a comfortable and welcoming stay. A true Gem. Les mer
