Wyndham Koloa Landing at Poipu Beach - Koloa

We stayed here for our honeymoon 4/6/12 through 4/15/2012. Neither of us had ever been to Hawaii and had no idea what to expect in terms of island accommodations and neighborhoods. We were immediately impressed with Koloa Landing at Poipu Beach-- it was gorgeous and the hotel staff were friendly, helpful and simply amazing! No construction noise discernible […] from our room (Building 1, room 206)-- nothing but clear skies (most of the time) and an ocean view. This Condo faciility was great. Walking distance to beaches, resturants, golf courses and close to other area atractions. If ever in Kauai we will stay there again.

We stayed here for one week and it was the perfect home base condo for our needs. We had a two bedroom two bath ocean view with full kitchen and laundry room as well. Had a rental car so the location was fine and wasn't a problem that it wasn't right on the beach. We ended up with two reservations (4 nites plus 2 nites) due to last minute changes in plans. Staff upgraded us from the reserved 1 bedroom construction view to a 2 bedroom construction/ocean view to ensure we would not have to switch unit mid-visit. These are multi-million dollar units and it feels like it - luxury. Caring and friendly staff - when […] the entire Kauai Island lost power one evening the staff immediately began checking the elevators and Units to ensure no one needed assistance. Location very convenient to several very good restaurants and there is a good grocery/markets if cooking/grilling at condo. Great for couples or families -- separate pool for adults only was far enough from family pool it was relaxing and quiet. Only complaint is electric plugs did not seem to be full 120v - my curling iron would not turn on and our electronics did not fully charge (camera batteries, eReader, and tablet computer) even when left charging overnight. (Their hair dryer did work at least) Otherwise, great place and highly recommend -- if you can get a good deal on the rent. Les mer

My husband and i went on a baby moon, and got a steal of a deal for a 2-bed brand new condo unit. The unit was decked out, very spacious/clean/full amenities (although we didn't use them). Very quiet area w/ parking close to the unit. Close to Kukui Ula (new restaurant/shop development), Koloa Town, Poipu Shopping Center, and Spouting Horn in Poipu. I […] usually stay on the East side of Kauai, and this was my first time to stay on the south side. If the rate was as reasonable as we got it for, I would definitely stay here again (and actually use the amenities next time!) Les mer

This claims to be on the beach but it's not. You can see the ocean but it takes a ten minute walk down a side road to get to it. The swimming pols here are incredible. No dining places onsite but many close by. People here are very nice. Oceanview room is out of this world. Upgraded to three bed, three bath at 2500 square foot of luxury. Two garden […] tubs, full granite kitchen, wrap around deck with four lounge chairs and dining table. Washer and dryer and the list goes on. Far exceeded what we planned for. Les mer

Being my first trip to Kauai, I was slightly concerned about my hotel choice. Sure it looked great in the photos, but I've experienced numerous hotels where the reality just didn't live up to to the pictures. This was not the case at the Wyndham Koloa Landing. This hotel/condo exceeded my expectations. It was a beautiful unit with very high end features […] inside the unit. The overall unit was extremely spacious and the beds were incredibly comfortable. My favorite thing was the Lanai (patio) which the whole unit opened up to. I spent hours every day sitting outside looking out over the pool and viewing the ocean in the distance. The surrounding area of Poipu Beach and Koloa are also a great choice of places to stay when in Kauai. All in all, this was an excellent hotel. Les mer

New complex of around five dozen 2, 3 and 4 bedroom condos. I stayed a 2BR unit. If you're looking for a lower-maintenance condo experience/base to explore Kauai (as opposed to a more full-service hotel), you can't go wrong here. Being new, the units are in impeccable condition, modern and very comfortable. All the staff was very friendly. The pools […] are pretty nice, which is good, because you'll be driving to the beach. This is really the only drawback to this property right now. This is "Phase I" and Wyndham is developing the land around it. That land sits between the complex and the water and is completely fenced off so you can't access it. And even if you could, it's a rock beach right now. You can walk around the property and down the road to the public beach, but it'd take at least 15-20 minutes, longer if you have kids. There is a center of good restaurants and shops within easy walking distance just to the west. Driving to get to the beaches or other sites isn't really a negative. If you're staying down here (on the southern part of the island) you're either staying put - in which case driving a couple minutes to the store for supplies or the beach isn't an issue if this property is on your shortlist; or you're already planning on doing some driving to get to the main attractions on other parts of the island. There are limited hotel-eque options available, which is nice. There is a bar in the lobby along w/a limited menu and a convenience store. Obviously housekeeping if you want it. A concierge with limited hours in also in the lobby. And the staff would leave messages to give us a heads up on live music or special events that were happening during the week. Les mer

We stayed at the Wyndham Koloa Landing for our honeymoon. Though we expected a large, nice room, the room we had surpassed our expectations. Though we paid for a 1-bedroom villa, we received a 2-bedroom villa that was over 1500 sq feet. All the appliances were top of the line, the bathrooms were huge and beautiful, everything was luxurious. We booked a "deluxe ocean view" room for four nights. The room was large, clean, and comfortable, in Building 1. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. The Wyndham website describes the hotel as being "ocean adjacent", but be aware that this is not an ocean front hotel. It is set back a ways from the ocean, and the walk from the hotel to Poipu […] Beach is over a mile. We feel the impression given by the photos on Wyndham's website is misleading in this regard. The view from our room was not at all what we expected. There was very little ocean visible, and the main view from our room was of other resort buildings, a mowed lawn, and a parking lot. We asked about this, and it turns out that the official definition of "ocean view" is up to 50% obstructed. Along with that, since the hotel is quite far away from the ocean, what we found we had was a very narrow strip of ocean visible at the extreme left of our view. Kauai is an incredibly gorgeous place. We came to the "garden isle" to appreciate it's natural beauty, and part of that was picking a hotel that we thought would provide a spectacular view of the ocean, and paid extra for it. The hotel charges different rates based on view ("ocean view", "partial ocean view"), and we later confirmed that our room was in fact considered an "ocean view" class room. Overall, this is a fine hotel, with good staff and a decent location. The full sized kitchen was great, and the furnishings were very high quality. In-suite laundry was also a nice feature to have. Just be aware that this is not an ocean front hotel and the views leave something to be desired. Les mer

Great accommodations. Room was very spacious, clean. Balcony with nice ocean view. Comfortable beds. Lots of amenities in room (including kitchen and laundry) and on property. Close to restaurants and shopping areas. Would stay here again.

Great location for those looking for a quiet getaway that is still close to fine dining and the beach. Large, new units with quiet pools on the property. The lanai was larger than the usual suite.

This condominium facility is definitely high-end. The location is great! It is a short walk to Poipu Beach and a few local restaurants can be reached on foot. There weren't towels at the pool area & housekeeping was a little less than expected. (I had to call two and 1/2 days to get some kitchen items replaced). Two days, I had to call at 4:00 pm because […] they did not come to clean (though I was out of the room from 9:00 - 2:00). Glasses were left on the nightstand and coffee filter never cleaned. Overall, the cleaning was really great, but one expects impeccible housekeeping when you're paying what you pay. Again, I'm really just knit-picking here because everything else was cleaned nicely.... I would definitely stay here again. The other thing I did not like was that there is no bar where you can get a glass of wine (I think because they were not fully up and running yet). There is a nice bar area in the lobby which will probably be in business by now. Les mer

the hotel was new and i was one of the first there. the rooms are high quality with the best of everything. i especially loved the view of the ocean & being able to see the sun rise from my bedroom. i couldn't believe how spacious the units were. 部屋、庭やプールの雰囲気は落ち着いていて申し分ありません。 しかし、今回利用では、3泊から4泊にWEB予約の段階で日程変更していましたが、現地にはその情報が伝わっていませんでした。そこまでは許せる範囲としても、その際、現地のホテルスタッフは非協力的で、そのようなトラブルの収束に向けて、結局、WEB予約の会社に自分で不慣れな英語で電話し、解決に至ったような状況です。ホテル側からWEB予約の会社に確認していただければ、すぐに解決していたものと思います。
