Merivale Manor Motel - Christchurch

Flott hotell, topp service av et svært hyggelig vertskap. Rolig og koselig Beliggenhet ca 10-15 min gangtur fra sentrum. Kan absolutt anbefales..

One of the two best hotel / motel stays in our recent trip to New Zealand . The location is good ( or as good as it can be given the devastation to the central part of the city ) . Our room ( in the manor house ) was well equipped with fridge freezer , large digital TV , microwave , cooker and ( especially appreciated ) free Wifi which we came to realise […] was not always the case in NZ . The owners of the motel were extremely friendly and helpful and I would certainly recommend Merivale to visitors to Christchurch . Les mer

Stayed in the 2 b'rm part of the manor, downstairs, absolutely gorgeous! High ceilings, beautiful big rooms, great aspect. Would definitely stay again.

We stayed in a manor room which was lovely. Full facilities and a very comfy bedroom. Free wifi which was a boon, and an extremely helpful owner. Well worth wandering up the road to the brewers arms for a feed. You're presented with a very hot stone on which you cook your own food, great fun.

The Merivale Manor Motel has come off reasonably well during the Christchurch earthquakes. A small reminder in a crack in the architrave above our rooms door and a recent crack in the stairway wall, plaster only, allowed one to understand this ongoing trauma to such a beautiful city. The Motel was lavishly decorated, clean and most comfortable. The […] double bed was not comfortable however, ending up in two sleepless nights for us. I understood there was breakfast with the room...this ended up being 3 boxes of sanitarium cereal and milk, or pre-frozen sliced bread (which we were charged for, to my disgust). The chap that saw us to our room was helpful, and only slightly faltered when we mentioned we have a 6 yr old with us too, therefore requiring a fold away bed to be placed in the room. We said yes to a paper in the morning, which we never received, I'm unsure as to weather we got charged for that or not. The bathroom was lovely, the kitchen well equipped and the TV huge. All in all I would give Merivale Manor Motel a thumbs up, just a few things to be aware of if you choose to stay there, we wouldn't normally spend as much on accommodation-so this was a treat. They just scrapped in with making me feel that it was money well spent. Les mer

just simply nice, clean and very convenient location! the only thing that they don't have is a washing machine, but overall is good.

The hosts were extremely nice and helpful. We flew in and arrived at 2 am. I contacted them prior to coming to let them know we would be in so late. They left a key in the lockbox and instructions on where the rooms were located. Getting into the rooms at such a late hour was very easy. The rooms were very large and modern. They even contained a small […] kitchen and some breakfast food (milk, cereal, and toast were provided). The beds were very comfortable. The hotel is located outside of downtown in a neighborhood that was not as badly damaged by the earthquakes. Les mer

We had a lovely stay in the Manor Room of The Merivale Manor. The hosts were extremely helpful and knowledgable and our room was both beautiful and functional. Electric blankets were a real treat as we did not encounter these again during our time in the South Island. We would highly recommend staying at The Merivale Manor. A wonderful place to begin our trip to Christchurch, and South Island.. very warm welcome, nothing was too much trouble, and really appreciated the continental breakfast provided. Close to great eating places, in particular Italian restaurant, Tutto Bene. Huge serves, full of locals, good prices - make sure you are really hungry, advance booking a must. […] Motel has easy access from airport. Although located on a main road, double glazing ensures quiet. We have enjoyed it so much we have booked to return for another stay after touring South Island for 3 weeks.. Das Hotel liegt bequem auf der Papanui Road von der aus die Innenstadt und Sehenswürdigkeiten in Laufdistnz oder einfach mit dem Bus zu erreichen sind. Die Besitzer sind sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Die Zimmer sind sauber und gemütlich undman kann kostenlos Wäsche waschen. Eine glatte Empfehlung für Christchurch.

Det rigtig velholdt motel med et meget hjælpsomt og hyggeligt værtspar. Værelserne er nye, pæne og meget rene. At de fleste værelser ligger i et plan er også en fordel. Motellet ligger kun 25min gang fra centrum eller så tæt man nu kan komme på centrum. I modsat retning er der 5 min gang til shopping og cafeer. Et rigtig godt sted til et ophold i C […] hristchurst.
