This is the perfect place to stay if you are skiing in Breckenridge. There are several beautiful options up at the mountain as well but this has the perfect location. You can easily walk to everything. The Gondola is right across the road and downtown is only 4-5 minutes away. If you are feeling lazy there is a shuttlebus that can take you everywhere.We found that the time it took us to wait for the shuttle wasn,t worth it,it was such a short walk anyway. The room was spaciuos and comfortable and the only thing we missed was bathrobes. It would have been nice when you walk to and from the pool and hottubs.We had a two bedroom/bathroom apartement and it was perfect for us and our teenage children. There should have been a shelf or hooks on the wall for hanging up mittens and skihelmets and such in the hallway. Everything was clean and inviting. We spent two nights in Denver before we came to Breckenridge and i was surprised to find that they only had the thin sheets on the beds where as in Denver they had real down comforters.(if they weren't down they were at least nice and thick and warm) The pillows where a bit hard for my likeing but to be fare i like really soft and formable pillows. The rooms had their own private skilocker in the lobby and coffee/tea and hot chocolate was always available.The staff was really helpful and there was nothing they wouldn't do if we asked.The shuttledriver took us up to some friends of ours up on the mountain even if it was out of his way. We where there at one of the busiest weekends of the year,presidents weekend. This made the town really busy and the restaurants were packed.You will either have two wait(very few of them take reservations) or you could go to the supermarket and get your own food wich you could prepare in the well equipped kitchen. Later in the week it was less crowded and we did get to try out some nice restaurants. Vail,Keystone,Arapahoe Basin and Copper Mountain are all just a short drive away and all worth a

Stedet lå veldig bra til og rommene var veldig store. Vi hadde 2 soverom med hvert sitt store bad og en stooor stue med peis. Hadde også veranda, med sittegruppe og grill. Helt perfekt!

"Excellent and in the Middle of Town"
Great Vail Experience. It's not the Four Seasons or the Ritz but for a quaint little Hotel with lots of character, history, charm right in the middle of Vail Village this is the place.

We had a great stay at Hotel Gastof Gramshammer. I stayed with my boyfriend and his sister for the holiday (12/23-12/24) and it was a blast! The hotel is located in the middle of Vail Village and within walking distance to the lifts as well as the bus to take you to the other Villages in Vail. We had a balcony that overlooked one of the most popular […] streets in Vail Village and woke up to the view of people skiing on the mountain. The staff was very friendly and the hotel itself was in great condition. The bed we slept in was not comfy but my boyfriend's sister's bed was very comfy so I think they just needed to fix ours. I filled out one of their surveys and they said they'd fix it right away. Great stay for the money, we couldn't have gotten even close to the same accomodations with the price we paid. "Great place to stay in Vail"
This hotel is the real deal if you are looking for a great hotel with a true European atmosphere. The hotel restaurant (Pepi’s) is our favorite place to eat in Vail and we have been traveling to Vail to ski almost every year since 1972.

"Vail Bargain"
We were very pleased with our stay. Staff was very helpful, location is fantastic. Our room did not seem to have a/c or if it did there were no instructions as to how to use or access it. Otherwise this was a great bargain in Vail V illage.

"Just like being in Europe!"
Such a charming, quaint hotel oozing with European "gemütlichkeit"....we loved our stay there! The restaurant could truly be in Austria, Switzerland or Bavaria....and the German fare was quite good! Great price point for Vail...they will definitely be Auf Wiedersehen-ing us!

The room and location were excellent. However, there is limited on-site parking, and most guests were required to park several blocks away in a public parking deck. This is common in central Vail, but I was not aware of it. The on-site restaurant is very good, but expensive. "Great location- but careful of the room selection!"
We booked this hotel after reading the reviews about great location and cleanliness. Unfortunately our room was located on the third floor (actually level 2.5) in front of the children's fountain, above the kitchen vent pipe and almost directly above the hotel's outdoor cafe with LIVE MUSIC EVERY NIGHT. Since there is no air conditioning and no window, […] we had to keep the slider open and the ceiling fan on, but the noise was so loud we were unable to hear the tv at night unless we cranked up the volume to a disturbing level. The hotel does provide ear plugs. If considering this hotel, you may want to upgrade to a river front room which, we were told, are quieter. I do wish we were informed about the room location at check in, especially regarding the noise. Les mer
"Nice but hot"
Nice hotel with friendly staff and great location. The only downside was the room was uncomfortably hot in the afternoon. If we stay here again, would definitely get a different room.

I used to work for the airlines and had flight priveleges so I traveled a lot and have stayed at a lot of hotels. With that being said, I have never traveled with all my children (3) and husband at the same time. It is quite stressful. My 16 month old daughter got sick one night in her crib and we called down to the front desk to see if we could get […] a new set of sheets for her to sleep on. They were out of clean fitted crib sheets, but I was super impressed by how the front desk staff tried everything they could to get us accomodated. The young man working looked everywhere in the hotel, but he couldn't find anything, but he did offer up several solutions for us. My point is, although I have stayed at a lot hotels, I have never been such a pain of a guest. The service we received from the young man working that afternoon/night was so great I would recommend the hotel to anyone staying in Vail. On another note, the rooms were very clean and comfortable. I chose to stay at this hotel because of its location. It suited us perfectly. Les mer

"Gasthof Gramshammer"
This is a very nice small hotel in the heart of Vail. There was only one problem. I visited in July and there is no air conditioning. The sun hit my room in the afternoon and it was very hot and the room did not cool off in the evening even though the night air was cool. I found it hard to fall asleep in the hot room. Other than that, I loved the place. […] They really need to up grade to free wireless internet. They have a DSL connection which is cumbersome. Les mer
"Hotel in the middle of Vail Village"
This whole town has a European feel and this hotel is one of the original hotels in vail. The room was comfortable and clean although the bathroom was small. I had a nice big balcony that overlooked the fountain. It was nice to hear the fountain 24-7 but the cranky kids toward the end of the day wasn't as charming. Sliding glass door provided good soundproofing. […] No wifi in rooms and you have to get ice from the bar. I loved the location!! Les mer

this hotel is very 'old school' - be prepared for tired and old fashioned furnishings but a superb location. Hotel could do with an overhaul but is still very clean and comfortable. Would stay here again just for the convenience
