Hotellet ligger ett lite stykke unna gamlebyen og severdighetene, men dette er ikke noe problem siden trikken går ofte og rett utenfor. Hotellet bærer ellers preg av å være billig og slitt. Gratis wi-fi er ikke noe å gå etter her, ustabilt og utrolig tregt...Frokosten (som var inkludert) var ikke annet enn mat og rommet var trist og hadde en "spesiell" […] lukt, ikke god.... Men for all del, mye tid på rommet var uansett ikke planlagt, så det overser jeg glatt. Personalet derimot var utrolig serviceinnstillte og alltid imøtekommende, og dette trekker voldsomt opp helheten. Jeg ville ikke nølt med å bestille dette en annen gang for en shoppingtur som dette, men ville ikke tatt med dama på en romantisk tur hit... Les mer

We used the Hotel Otaker for 2 day stay in Prague. Overall, it was a decent hotel especially for the price. You have easy access to the city via the Tram system which gets you to the Metro within 15 mins. Typical European breakfast was included. This hotel is well located, close to a tram station driving you to the center in less than 10 minutes. The hotel is in good condition, it is quite cheap for a good room and it has the style of the country, really nice to feel slightly immersed. The breakfast was included and quite good. One can easily park for free in front of the hotel. The employees […] are able to help you well with anything you need or want to know about the city. Get what you pay for in terms of the room. Great help from staff with tour bookings and information. Super easy access to the tram system which is quite good. We loved Prague and its beautiful sights. Hotel is not in the heart of the action however by tram it was easily accesses after 15 min.

Do not stay here! Carry out your research better than me! The photographs on the website are a bit misleading, as my room was a little bit dirty and quite frankly, cheap. I was also kept awake most of the night by drunken shouting in the hotel. When I complained to the receptionist, she just shrugged her shoulders and said "It happens here". The room was really big for our family of four. The bathroom was nice and had plenty of hot water. The beds were a bit on the stiff side. We were a middle aged couple having a holiday in Prague. The other guests ranged from other couples of our own age to young families and groups of younger people in town for the nightlife. The staff were always very helpful whether the request was for a late toasted sandwich or information about the tram routes. The disadvantage of this is that rooms at the front can be noisy as it is also on a busy road junction. The outside is a bit shabby but the rooms are fine and the inside decor is a rather nice art-nouveau style. No hotel restaurant except for breakfast but plenty of eating places around. During my entire stay, there was no working wifi in my room so I had to stay in the lobby and keep buying teas and coffees to warm myself up. The desciption mentions welcome amenities, there was nothing like that. My sister and I stayed in single rooms at this hotel. These singles had ample space, were clean, quiet and charming. The staff was very friendly with excellent English and each staff member seemed to express a genuine willingness to be help in any way needed. The breakfast buffet was perfectly adequate, although heavy on the meat. But, hey, this is […] the Czech Republic. Breakfast hours began at 8:00. A bit earlier would be preferred, but even with the 8:00 rush, there was plenty of space in the breakfast room to enjoy the meal. This hotel is not in the heart of the old town, but an easy tram ride away. The tram stops right outside of the hotel with frequent service, and there is a ticket box there as well, so it is very easy to use. I would in no way let the location dissuade you from staying at this hotel. Overall, i give this hotel a big thumbs up. Les mer

Lovely and friendly reception staff (especially Katarina) The area isnt that great, but very easy to get into town and all major attractions via the tram (literally 30seconds away!) Breakfast was ok, and suited our needs, basic but fine. I would recommend this to people who arent very fussy, and are there for touring.

First of all, the staff are so nice here. We booked 1 night and stayed 3. The girls on the front desk were very helpful and always asked if we needed help catching the trams from the stop outside the hotel. We preferred to walk into town though. Had delicious meals at a restaurant 5 minutes from the hotel, probably our best meal in Europe so far.

Hotel Otakar is very basic. Does what it says on the tin. The decor in Art Noveau which meant it was a bit out of my comfort zone (but it is good to try something different). It is not located in the center of Prauge but there are trams that stop outside the hotel that can take you anywhere to the center of Prauge and where this can be a good thing […] during the day unfortunately you hear the trams at night and first thing in the morning, which can make going to sleep difficult. My room did face the main street where the trams run. If there was good double glazing it would have been more bearable. The bed was very comfortable and the sheets very, very clean. The bathroom was also very clean. You choose if you want your room cleaned or not. Room service was excellent along with the receptionist who made me feel very welcome and ordered taxis and tours for me (all part of the service). She also was able to recommend places to eat which are cheap that are close to the hotel. There is also a fruit stall opposite the hotel which was really good if you want to keep to your 5 a day. The receptionist also recommended a visit to Vyshard- 15/20 min walk from hotel. I truly recommend it. Overall, don't expect luxury decor from the hotel but it is clean. The service is excellent. Breakfast is continental but there is a large choice available. I would recommend this hotel to young students or those travelling cheaply as it offers good value for money. Les mer

Hotel is very basic but that was what we expected. Rooms varied in size, one lacking a toilet door which was a bit difficult as it was shared by two men. Fittings were minimal. Whilst it is on a very convenient tram route it is too far out to walk comfortably anywhere. Disappointed that the bar was basically the receptionist.

I stayed here for 4 nights and found it to be a good value I would recommend to others. I stayed on the fifth floor facing the back, which gave me a beautiful view of the city hillside from my small balcony. I dont think the front facing rooms have such a nice view. The elevator only goes to the fourth floor, so the 5th is reached via a short flight […] of steps. Wireless internet was available, but it often did not reach the 5th floor, a couple of times I had to walk to the fourth and sit in the hall with my laptop. The staff should install another wireless router on the 5th floor. The breakfast was good, but started too late for earlier risers. The staff was very nice, and gave me a lot of good advice. The hotel is right by the tram stop, and one can easily take it to the city center. Hotel Otakar is in Prague 4, so it is not ideal, but still close enough. Note: do not let the graffiti in the neighborhood scare you, for some reason Prague is plagued with graffiti and one sees it everywhere. Also, note that some literature lists it, and some locals remember it as Hotel Merlin, but its present name is Otakar. There is a great restaurant around the corner from the hotel called Koliba, it is a steakhouse and I highly recommend it . One can buy a voucher at the hotel for a discount dinner. great hotel! very friendly staff! very clean! breakfast included is a great perk. if you stay here (which I would recommend) you have to try the restaurant around the corner called La Calinda. The amazingly delicious local food is grilled right in front of you, in a very quaint location with traditional music and dancing! Fantastic!

This is in an old apartment building converted to a hotel. As such is does not offer all the conveniences of a hotel. Especially wireless internet was a problem: they have access points located every other floor. My room was on a floor with no access point and I could not get a signal in the room. Hotel staff is friendly and tries to accommodate requests. […] They also offer city tours or airport transfers (you have to pay for these). Breakfast is OK and you can get anywhere in Prague from it thanks to the excellent public transportation system: about 15 min. by tram to Venceslas square, Old Town, Charles Bridge, etc. Prague Congress Center is within 25 min. walking distance. Stayed at Hotel Otakar/Merlin first week of April. It was well worth it to stay out of more mainstream touristy areas. (Cost less than those too.) The tram out front can get you to anywhere you want to go very quickly. Staff very helpful. Used their cab service on the last day and got to ride in a really nice Skoda! Breakfast buffet was better than […] anything you would get in the US: 4-5 choices of bread, really good yogurt, meats and cheese. Market accross the street was open about 12 hours a day and I got snacks for evening there-fresh fruit, lots of good candy. There are restaurants next door and around the corner. I miss Prague! Hotel is easy to get to as 3 or 4 trams stop outside the front, and another 2 or 3 round the corner. Journeys to the city centre take about 10 mins - it is too far to walk easily. This was part of the balancing act which decided the choice of hotel for us - convenience to the city centre versus cost. City centre hotels are quite expensive, this place […] isn't.. It is in a lovely building, one of those elegant ones from a century ago that are common in Prague. As hotels go it is very basic - but the price reflects this. It was clean and smartly decorated in very modern style. The beds were just about comfortable enough, acceptable but not brilliant. Towels are not changed daily unless you leave your keys at reception for the maid, fair enough. Breakfast was typical European - a choice of about 6 sausage meats/salami and 2 cheeses with brown bread and white rolls, jams, toaster avaiable, two cereals, joghurt on some days but not others, as much (pretty decent) coffee as you want and various tea bags, drinking chocolate, and very weak fruit juices. Website suggested there was a sauna but there wasn't. overall this hotel was extremely good value for money, especially considering how expensive Prague is. Les mer

The staff are very helpful and informative. The hotel is just out of the centre of town, quite a peaceful area. The hotel is well served by several trams which are every 10 min, and get you to anywhere in the centre within a short time (don't forget to validate your tram ticket in the yellow box with a green arrow on the tram or you could get a 700 […] ck fine, the ticket inspectors are plain clothed). If you are stuck for the best routes or places to eat or see, just ask the staff at reception. The breakfast buffet is well stocked and a very ample continental breakfast. Good coffee! Das Hotel kann für ein Wochenendtrip genutzt werden. Wer in die Stadt laufen mmöchte,sollte eine andere Unterkunft wählen. Vor dem Hotel fährt in regelmäßigen Abständen die Metro und man ist in Ca 13 Min. in der Innenstadt. Das Frühstück ist auch absolut in Ordnung gewesen. The location wasn't very good though there is a tram staion and also a ticket machine in front of the hotel, and it takes about 10~15 mins to the city central. There's no metro station around and the nearest train station which is Praha Vrsovice, you need to walk about 10 mins. Хороший добротный отель для экономных путешественников. Удобные номера, чисто, уютно. Прекрасный завтрак. Остановка трамвая перед отелем, а трамвай ходит по расписанию - каждые 15-20 минут. Ехать до самого центра - 12 минут. Очень доброжелательные девочки на регистрации: стараются говорить и понимать по-русски. И главное - во всем готовы помочь (даже […] в приобретении трамвайных билетов). Парковка около отеля бесплатная (мы были на трех машинах), но это просто часть дороги и тротуара, где разрешено парковаться гостям отеля. Нас вполне устроило. The receptionist Katerina was extreemely nice and helpful. we had 2 nights - but no cleaning of the room. They recommend a restaurant just round the corner. Extreemely good and nice. Music and funny folklore dancing entertainment

가격은 저렴하지만 호텔의 방 청결도는 많이 떨어짐. 특히, 치안에도 그다지 안전하지 않음. 단 ,Tram이 호텔 앞을 다니기때문에 시내로 왔다 갔다 하는데에는 그다지 문제가 없음. 단, 저녁에 움직이기 너무 어두워서 조금 움직이기가 쉽지않음.

Leider entsprach das Hotel nicht meinen Erwartungen. Das Zimmer war renovierungsbedürftig, das Waschbecken verstopft und die Zimmerbeleuchtung funktionierte nicht. Durch die verkehrsgünstige Lage bedingt konnte man nicht bei offenem Fenster schlafen, auch drangen die Geräusche von den Fluren problemlos durch die dünnen Türen. Das Frühstücksbuffet (im […] ungemütlichen Keller) war ausreichend und nicht spektakulär, wenn alle gleichzeitig frühstücken wollen, wirds eng. Der var intet at udsætte på personalets venlighed eller hjælpsomhed, og der var rent og pænt over det hele - men der var bare for mange SMÅ detaljer som var irriterende hver for sig: Internettet virkede næsten ikke - og da slet ikke ved arbejdspladsen (som bestod af et alt for højt bord til en alt for lille stol), værelset var generelt meget dårligt […] indrettet, morgenbrødet var tilsyneladende flere dage gammelt, der var ingen brugbar belysning til læsning i sengen (og i det hele taget var der overalt brugt lavenergipærer af så dårlig kvalitet at man måtte vente i flere minutter på brugbart lys), og som en mærkværdig detalje manglede der, af alle ting, hårshampoo på badeværelset (ca. det eneste toiletprojekt som ingen gider tage med i en flyver...). Beliggenheden kan nok mest anbefales hvis man har ærinder i det sydlige Prag; særligt kunne man nok godt undvære de støjende tog som kører forbi ikke ret langt derfra. Men der var dejlig nem adgang til sporvognssystemet, og der er også en vis charme over at have en lille flod i baghaven. Les mer

Bedrövligt, både boendet och frukosten. Oväsen hela dygnet av trafik och spårvagn. Fönstret stängt=fruktansvärt varmt. Fönstret öppet= fruktansvärt oväsen. AC till extra kostnad/dygn. Frukost=torrt bröd, ingen påfyllnad av yoghurt då den var slut eftersom det inte fanns mera (hände varje dag). Aldrig mer.

Hotellet va helt okej. Lite slitet men helt klart värt dem pengarna man betalar. Frukostbuffen, där hade de kunnat anstränga sig lite mer. Men samma där, helt ok.Förbindelser in till city är helt perfekta. 2 olika linjer rakt utanför entrén. Men en sak ska alla sjusovare veta, hotellet är lyhört. Väldigt.

Très propre et relativement bien situé: Tramway en face de l'hôtel, accès au centre ville en moins de 20 mn... Nickel! La voiture est restée devant l'hôtel pendant nos 3 jours sur place (pas de parking privé ni gardé). Par contre, plutôt bruyant du fait des trams en face des chambres.
