Everything was easy. Helpful staff. Amazing, clean, comfortable room with wonderful shower/bath. Yummy breakfast. Monkeys hanging outside behind the hotel. Awesome. Great location.

the staff were excellent. Always willing to help me out about many things. The only issue was the T.V in the room was very small. My concern was not with the \hotel, it was with the fact that it is a little bit dangerous when you walk around. The cars are fast and not much room to walk around. Plaza yara was great. Had everything we needed. Spacious. Breakfast was great. Bus stop nearby. Javier was wonderful. The restaurant El Arado was great.

The hotel is along the main road from town to the park - as are most of the hotels. You can catch the bus or get a taxi all up and down the strip, but you won't want to do much walking along the often busy road. Our room was a good size and clean. Unfortunately we had problems with our toilet. The staff tried to be helpful, but the problem wasn't finally […] fixed until the night before we left (3 days later). Staff overall are very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good. There is no restaurant in the hotel, but there is one next door that is nice for diner or after diner drink. Les mer

Friendly staff, and very clean rooms. Furniture and television were outdated. Provided a nice breakfast in the morning . Room was spacious. Overall, I would rate this hotel a 6 out of 10.

WE are arealready planning a second stay for next year and using the Plaza Yara as the HQ. The room was wonderful...windows opened tot he forest full of monkeys, but the kitchen, coffee-maker(with coffee, sugar and milk...not the yucky stuff) was great. Wonderful location on the main road (but quiet) with the balconies facing the jungle. Some mornings squirrel monkeys and capuchin monkeys come visit. The breakfast area is also open to the jungle, and the food is good. The staff is terrific and helped us book a tour as well as giving us advice on others. Huge room, new bathroom, Small kitchen, privet balcony with garden view. Bus stop across the street. Bus comes every 20-30 minutes, pries is 50 c.The bus goes to Manuel Antonio park and public beach. breakfast has 3 optional.. Very good pries. staff is vary helpful.

I really like this hotel. It's between Quepos and Manuel Antonio. Breakfast was included in our rate, and they had 3 choices of breakfast meals, along with toast, o.j., coffee and tea. The breakfast area is in their main patio/dining area which, on one side is the forest/jungle where you can see monkeys, sloths, etc. ... very entertaining. The rooms […] are enormous! Very clean and pretty modern bathrooms (with a huge shower). All the necessities in the room (coffee maker, microwave, small fridge, and even microwave popcorn). And, forget about those packets of coffee, they provide a vacuum sealed container with freshly ground coffee, so coffee drinkers ... you will love it! Javier is soooo nice and accommodating, making calls for us, recommendations, and showed us where we can catch the local bus to Manuel Antonio or Quepos. Their office is in an art gallery, with some amazing art. We had carry-ons, so didn't have enough room for anything. There are two restaurants in the hotel ... Salt (fine dining) and a pizza place. Both were really good, and convenient. If and when we visit the Manuel Antonio area, we'd stay here again. Only thing that makes the rooms a 3, is that the walls are pretty thin and easy to hear your neighbors ... but nothing that ear plugs couldn't take cake of. Pura Vida!!! Les mer

We were at Plaza Yara for 3 nights in the queen suite which sleeps 3 people since it has a queen bed and a twin bed, and it had a kitchen area, living area, and dining table. It very much exceeded our expectations. The hotel was very clean. They offer free breakfast from 7-10am everyday. Their location is about a 10 minute walk from Quepos downtown. […] You don't want to take the walk to the beach or Manuel Antonio from the hotel since it is quite a hike and there are no sidewalks on the main road, but we found this was the case for most hotels that you would've booked. There is a public bus that takes you anywhere from Quepos downtown up to Manuel Antonio and costs only $0.50 per person and the ride is only 5-10 minutes. So I definitely recommend this hotel for anyone wanting to visit Quepos and Manuel Antonio park! Les mer

This hotel was an excellent choice and I would definitely return! The room was very spacious, clean and well maintained. The staff was excellent, very welcoming, attentive and always eager to help!! Thanks Javier!! Only complaint was that the TV was too small (perhaps 20 inch), but hey with the beautiful beach down the street who needs TV.

Plaza Yara is a wonderful hotel. The staff are extremely friendly and accommodating. The rooms and bathrooms are all remodeled. Hotel Yara was a great hotel to stay at for our two nights and 3 days. The staff were very friendly and helped with suggestions on things to do. The room was very spacious and a great value for the money. A lovely balcony to sit on in the morning or at night. The breakfast was included which was delicious! The rooms were modern/contemporary. This hotel […] backs right up to a Forrest if you are lucky you might see some monkeys climbing across the branches. Very nice pool. There are two nice places to eat right next to it. One is the Hacienda and the other is Italian pizza place. The hacienda has music at night. The Yara is super close to the Rain Forrest. Which is great to see with thru the eyes of a guide. Everything was nice about this hotel except the location, it was a little bit too far from the beach and/or downtown Quepos. You have to take the bus instead of walking to the place. If you don't mind to take a bus ride every time you want to go somewhere then this is the place. Hotel is nice and clean though.

Nice little hotel. Very close to busy street, but all the rooms face away from the street. The room was very spacious and clean. Nice modern bathroom as well. We only stayed one night to get our bearings with the town of Quepos before traveling closer to Manuel Antonio. It is right on the public bus route. I can't say enough about Hotel Plaza Yara. Incredible rooms, and the nicest and most hospitable guys are working in the lobby. Anything you need, they're happy to help with. The hotel is smack inbetween Quepos and Manuel Antonio, and 30 seconds from a bus stop, so getting around is very easy.

I would have never thought where the Plaza Yara Hotel was located would be a hidden gem of a hotel. The hotel only houses a select few rooms, but they are VERY spacious and beautiful! Each room overlooks this outside jungle-like area so you feel very secluded. There are even monkeys that greet the guests during breakfast-time! The quality and price […] for the hotel was unheard of and was centrally located to everything! It was right on the main road that takes guests to Manuel Antonio National Park and the beaches. My wife and I had a fantastic honeymoon thanks to Javier and hotel plaza yarrow. Clean, comfortable, and spacious the hotel is right between Manuel Antonio national park and the city of Quepos, CR. Don't forget to visit Cody at el Hacienda for some fantastic food and great drinks. All in all, I give our experience a 10 put of 10.

Large rooms, nice balcony, great location. The worst part was the bathroom smelled terrible regardless of cleaning, perhaps a septic tank problem. However, with the door shut the room was fine. The staff was very nice and we had a very comfortable 3 night stay.

This hotel was clean, beautiful, and the rooms are HUGE! Monkeys can be seen from the patio during certain times of year and the breakfast delivered to the room free of charge is an incredible advantage. It's not close to much, so a car really helps - especially on those hills! But there are two restaurants very close by. The entire town is VERY tourist-oriented, […] though. So with that comes a swift change in service from kind and genuinely interested, to very formal and polite. The staff was helpful, though, in offering advice on the many tour options available. We stayed at Hotel Plaza Yara in July 2011. This was a beautiful place to stay going up the hill to Manuel Antonio. The price was very reasonable and included a delicious breakfast (fresh fruit, juice,breakfast breads, butter, yogurt, and a couple of granola bars that we saved for later) that was delivered to the balcony of our room. While there is […] no view of the ocean (it is on other side of road), glass doors open to a beautiful patio with surrounding jungle. There is a good restaurant/bar next door that has live music some nights. Our room was very large with a sitting area, and the bathroom had a very large shower. There was also a wet bar area with a small refrigerator and a microwave, as well as some complimentary popcorn. There was also a small pool. My wife and I stayed here for 4 nights and liked it so much we came back for another long weekend. The rooms are beautiful, spacious, and impeccably clean. Breakfast is included and delivered to your room each morning. The location is excellent; although there's no ocean view it is a quick 5 minute bus ride to both Manuel Antonio's beaches and Quepos. […] And it is a very safe area. The bus is VERY cheap, and you will have to take it regardless of what hotel you stay at (most are not within walking distance of the beach). A very good bargain. I have stayed in several other hotels during trips to Quepos. All have been nice but a bit pricey. Plaza Yara strikes a great compromise between price and amenities. It's a bit closer to Quepos than to Manuel Antonio Park, but the park is still convenient. Neither is within easy walking distance. The breakfast provided is more than […] ample. I'm not a big fan of papaya and after the first day, they apparently took note of that fact and substituted extra pineapple and banana slices. Impressive, since I never mentioned my preference. The rooms are clean and spacious with nice little balconies overlooking the rain forest. All in all. a wonderful place to stay in one of the most beautiful areas of Costa Rica. Les mer

This hotel is a great rainforest hotel located partway between Quepos and Manuel Antonio, but with easy access via local bus to both locations. Two restaurants on property (italian was good). The rooms have balconies opening to part of the rainforest. The rooms are very spacious, new, clean, with new furnishings. This hotel was perfect. Very large clean and modern. Loved the balcony and breakfast every morning with coffee. The monkeys came one morning and watched us from the trees. It was a short walk to the bus stop and had a lovely restuarant next door, La Hacienda. They booked our awesome horseback tour on short notice. They made our vacation. Thank you!

The hotel is very nice and has two restaurants next to each other so you don;t have to go far eat and they also deliver to the room. The rain forest is right there and you can see the animals. Is not close to the Manuel Antonio Park you have to drive there, but is a nice drive and since is not right there the ambince is much better. The rooms are big!! […] and have a little kitchen living room, is great. They even put paper flowers on the toilet! very cute Les mer

The hotel was very clean the staff were really nice. It is a great set up if you plan on staying there for a long time as there is a small kitchen. Be mindful that there is no view of the beach or the water, but it is a close by. I would stay there again. And I don't say that lightly as I as can be very picky.

professional service, great location, excellant breakfast included, two resturants on site. The moment we arrived, we were treated to a family of Squirrel monkeys. What a greating! Every morning and evening we watched in amazement them coming and going. Javier welcomed us to Hotel Plaza Yara. Showed us our room and explained the ammenities. And was […] very informative of all our questions. Every morning we were treated to fresh fruit (papaya, pineapple, bananna, watermelon), juice, yogurt and sweet bread. Delivered to you at your requested time by Katia. Who also made sure our room was in tip top shape every day. Nelson, the on site manager, made sure we were refunded for 3 nights for an early check out. After a 6 night stay, we went to explore more of this beautiful country. Hotel Plaza Yara is located between the city of Quepos and the entrance of Manuel Antonio Park. Which is ideal for the experience of the park and the Tico's. My friend and I loved Hotel Plaza Yara! The room was huge and spotless (towels were laundered & floor mopped daily). The room we booked had only 1 bed, but they gave us a room with 2 beds for no extra cost. The room had a kitchenette and tremendous windows looking out to a small section of the rain forest, which had tons of birds (a little loud) but […] we loved the feeling of being surrounded by nature. There was also an adorable little restaurant with live music playing a few nights a week attached to the hotel. There's an art gallery in the lobby, which I loved. There's a computer with fast internet (which cannot be said for all the hotels). The location was perfect for us. Situated between Quepos & Manuel Antonio, with a bus stop right up the street. The bus cost only $0.50 & took only 20 min to either towns, the beach & park. We took it very often & felt connected to everything, but thankfully not too close to downtown Quepos with the loud night scene. The hotel location felt very safe. But by far, the best part of the Hotel Plaza Yara were the wonderful staff - Jonathon, Javier & Nelson were amazing & couldnt be more welcoming or accommodating. Anthony the owner was fabulous too, & spent time talking to us about Costa Rica. In fact, one day Nelson drove us to a majestic hidden beach that we never would have found on our own. The staff helped us book all our tours. I would definitely return to Plaza Yara - what an awesome find. We miss you. Love to Havannah! Les mer

We like to not be in the throng of the crowd and this place was perfect. Just a few minutes from Manuel Antonio but still peaceful. The reooms are very clean, spacious and quiet, with a pleasant artistic feeling. The staff was very courteous and helpful..also the attached art gallery was a nice unique quality.

This little boutique hotel was a great surprise at the end of our trip to Costa Rica. The room was great, the bed comfortable, the shower large and pressure good, and the view of the rainforest from our private balcony was amazing. The hotel provided a great breakfast of yogurt, fresh fruit, granola bars, coffee & milk, and some amazing freshly baked […] breads with jam. We left at 6 am on our last morning and they were willing to give us our breakfast the night before. The parking was free, plentiful, and watched by a security guard. The location is very close to Manuel Antonio, although not walking distance (you would have to walk back up a very long, elevated road). It is located in a "strip mall" but probably not like you are picturing in the states. Also, The Hacienda restaurant next door is spectacular and serves great local craft beer!
