My family (hubby, myself, and 9 year old child, had a very enjoyable experience at this hotel. It was clean, staff was friendly, pool had slide/sprinkler things, and breakfast was good. The room, which was a suite with a kitchenette was nice. The only thing was that the kitchen had no supplies (dishes, silverware etc, so cooking was out. Also the room, […] only had 1 tiny trash can. If you did cook there was no type of table/countertop/chairs/stools etc. to eat at. I guess you would be dinning at the couch. Les mer

Our stay at the Polaris HIEX was great. We felt that the room was clean and well equipped. The room seemed a little tight, but we expected it to be. The highlight for the kids was the pool. It was perfect for our 2 and 5 year old. Others reviewed the pool as too cold, but as someone who has always enjoyed swimming, I didn't feel that the water was anywhere […] near cold. I have been in much colder pools. Perhaps the management fixed or upped the heater? It was perfect. The breakfast was good for a complimentary breakfast. The hot items were hot and always restocked if they had more. It wasn't like mom cooks it, but it was still good. The only complaint we had was that on our first night we were there, the steam from the pool set off the fire alarm just after we had gotten our kids to bed (10pm!) and we all had to heard our family outside. It would have been nice to get an explanation and apology from management by way of letter under the door or at check out. However, we are glad to know that the fire alarm works and that everyone got out safely even though there wasn't really a concern. Overall, we would book at this hotel again because it was clean and all staff members we encountered were friendly and polite. Our children loved the decor and the pool. The hotel was near the mall and was easy to find. We had a great time! Les mer

This is one of, if not the nicest hotel I have stayed in at this price point. The pool area was awesome and the kids had a blast. We will definitely be going back.

Supposed to be a nice room on the 7th floor. But the room was surrounded on front and side by hallways and elevator room. Noise from elevator room sounded like someone banging the walls in the hallway. I tried to call down stairs but no one answered and had to dress and go down on my own. I thought someone was in the locked room and was banging the […] walls to get attention and didn’t know it was an elevator room at the time. Eventually found the night manager and she grabbed a set of keys and followed me up to the 7th floor. I showed her the room and was told it was the elevator room. Her keys didn’t work and there was no offer of moving me. Checked out the next day and the day manager said that they were going to take $30 dollars off but since I booked with hotels.com couldn’t do it. I’ve stayed at much better managed and maintained hotels and recommend giving this one a miss. Les mer

Great modern hotel. Will stay again. My daughter loved the indoor pool. The only negative thing is the bath towels need softener. Very hard and scratchy to the skin.

Stayed here while attending a convention for the weekend. The hotel was nice and clean, the employees were as nice as they could be and the pool and hot tub was great. Enjoyed it so much that we stayed an extra night. If around Columbus again I will definatly be staying there. Highly recommend it.

This weekend's stay at the Holiday Inn Express was great. The kids enjoyed the little water park with a water slide. The room was neat and clean. The breakfast was delicious. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

We recently stayed at the Holiday Inn Express in Polaris, Ohio for a sporting event that was downtown. You could tell the hotel was new. Everything was clean and no signs of wear and tear yet. The beds and pillows were some of the best I've ever slept on in a hotel. It was one of the larger hotel rooms I have stayed in. I would call it a combination […] between a regular room and a suite. I was with my father and my son. There were two beds in the room and a pull out sofa-sleeper, so my son had his own bed. Despite the pull out, there was still more room to walk than in most hotel rooms. My son (9) had fun in the pool area where they have some mini water park style features. My only complaint about the pool is that the water slide, which is what my son was most interested in, had very limited hours. The free hot breakfast everymorning was nice. Also, a nice touch that they have free wireless internet access, which is a rarity at a hotel nowadays. The location is close enough to downtown to get there in about 15 minutes. It is also close to the highway, so there wasn't a lot of searching to find where it was once we exited. I would highly recommend this hotel. Les mer

This hotel had a wonderful atmosphere. Our children loved the pool (it was a little cold for the adults but the kids weren't bothered by that). The breakfast was one of the best complimentary breakfasts i've ever had. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

Our stay at this hotel was wonderful. The staff was extremely friendly. The breakfast buffet in the morning was very delicious they kept it stocked and full all the way until it closed. Great place. We just wanted to get out of town (Dayton, OH) and get the kids to a pool. HI Polaris was PERFECT for us. Close to restaurants, shopping and with a pool! Thank you!

My mother, daughter and I stayed at this hotel for a weekend. We were just planning on having a nice girls weekend. Apparently there was some sort of contest in Columbus during the same weekend. The hotel was crawling with little children. Both nights that we stayed there we had to call the front desk and ask that they call the other rooms to quiet […] the kids. The doors were slamming all night long. After the first night we asked that they move our room. The lady at the front desk stated that it would not be a problem and they would move us away from all the other children so we did not have to hear them screaming and running through the halls all night. When we came back to the hotel after our day out the Manager on duty stated that he did not know what I was talking about. He "found" a room that was terribly smaller than the one we were already in, that was just as noisy. I had to say something to the other people myself about being quiet. When we were leaving the next day the same lady was back and said that she did tell her manager and she was not sure why he would have said that he did not know. Needless to say, our weekend away ended up being terrible and it is not something we can ever get back. If you don't mind being around uncontrolled kids then this will be a good hotel. It appeared management could not manage a nice hotel for all guests. Les mer

What a beautiful facility. Very modern decor and lovely atmosphere. Comfortable beds, wonderful service and good breakfast. Convienantly located close to numerous good restaurants and lots of shopping, a girls best friend :)!

The splash pad area for younger kids is very nice for the price of the hotel.

Home for the Holidays. This was a great get away from the family for the holidays hotel. My 7 year old boy loved the decor. Super Chic! We loved the lounge/breakfast bar area.Pancakes every morning! We hung out there after hours to watch TV instead of our room. Pool was nice but a little chilly. Thank goodness for the hot tub to warm us up! Great big […] rooms to sleep in. Nice clean new rooms. Great maid service over Thanksgiving. Great location to Polaris and all to do there. Nice to still have free computer access. Easy access to the freeway. I was impressed overall with our stay. Our room was quite spacious for our family of 5. We stayed here for a weekend family getaway and chose this hotel mostly because of the indoor pool description. The waterslide was closed and the lazy river is not a lazy river...it's more like a 30 foot loop around a cement island. But luckily, our kids still had […] lots of fun. I'd stay again. Les mer

We recently stayed at the Polaris Holiday Inn and it was extremely clean, comfortable, amazing pool for the kids and adults and well worth it for the price. My only disappointment was the free breakfast lacked fresh fruit and some variety and there was very little seating available on both mornings. Normally I wouldn't mind, but with having children, […] the breakfast is much more important. Les mer

I should have noticed before, but when I took a drink of my coffee in the complimentary continental breakfast, the coffee was cold. If that is all I have to whine about, I'm good!
