The Grand Hotel Dallas - Dallas

The hotel at $60 a night was excellent. They had recently remodeled. The rooms were clean and the bed was comfy. I would stay there again. The location is close to both airports. In/out burger is right next door!!

The hotel was enjoyable. I have some good things and some bad things to say. The hotel is a nice place to stay, the room was clean except for a dirty handtowel on the shower rod. Think the housekeeper missed it. The bed was comfortable. The junior suite I was given was a little weird. It was two rooms made into one but it still had two doors and two […] bathrooms. The furniture was lacking, the TV stand was in a bad location because I could not watch TV from the bed or the couch. All in all I give The Grand Hotel 3.5 stars. Les mer

I have read some bad reviews about this hotel and was a little apprehensive about my stay. I have no idea if the previous people were delusional when they reviewed this hotel because I have nothing but great things to say about The Grand Hotel Dallas. From the time I checked in the staff have been very helpful and friendly. The housekeeping staff do […] a fantastic job at maintaining the rooms and the hotel staff are very efficient and friendly. Even though breakfast is not served there are plenty of places surrounding the hotel to satisfy anyones hunger needs, including room service. Being a single female traveler security was important to me, needless to say this hotel values its client and you will find security presence at all times of the day. The public transport system is very close by making it a little easier to get around Dallas if you don't have a vehicle.I enjoyed my 2 weeks stay in Dallas and at this hotel so much so that I extended my stay for 2 weeks extra. I would DEFINITELY recommend this hotel to anyone who asks, so much so that when I return to Dallas I would definitely be staying here again! Les mer

When I arrived, I was not greeted. I stood waiting to be helped only to be asked a few minutes later, "Do you have a reservation." Not hello, how are you. The hotel is old but recently renovated. The second floor smells like wet paint and the elevator was broken. They used to serve a really good breakfast years ago, but now do not serve it at all. Strange... […] I'd stay again only because they have a 100% satisfaction guarantee but no refunds! Also they refuse to turn the air conditioning on in the hallways so it feels like a sauna. Les mer

The hotel is nice for the price. The halls don't seem to be air conditioned so they feel really warm and are kinda dark, but the rooms are nice and everything is comfortable. The only real negative that we had with the room was this overpowering fragrance when you walked in the door. We traced it down to a plug in liquid air freshener in the bathroom. […] We unplugged it but even with it unplugged the smell slapped you in the face every time we walked in the room over a 3 day stay. It got better over time but the first day it was so strong that it almost made your eyes water. Both of us felt the same way, so it's really disappointing that the management approved the use of such strong fragrance in the rooms - it made me wonder what they were trying to cover up! Because of the strong smell I'm not sure I'd book another stay in that hotel. We complained to the front desk and they said they would "look into it" but I didn't get a strong feeling that anything would change. Les mer

Our check-in experience was somewhat frustrating. The room had a very strange layout with a half wall dividing the room and flow. Their was a full kitchen with a stove and full sized refrigerator. That seemed nice at first until we opened the cabinets and found absolutely nothing! Not even a glass or fork. Why have this amenity if you can't even use […] it. The bathroom had been halfway renovated. The counter, sink, mirror, floors and toilet were new, but the tub, shower and tile were all very old. Lets just say I had a guest staying with me, and she locked the door while I went to grab a bite. My room key didn't work and the lobby couldn't help to get me in my room. No other accommodations were produced so I drove 4 hours back home and called it a trip. Not a great trip, especially at this hotel with all the road construction going on it was […] a nightmare. The staff was excellent, super friendly and welcoming, top of the line when it comes to hotel staff. And they are super accommodating. The first room we were in had issues in, the door was hard to open and the sink was having issues draining and they moved us without even a second thought. The new room was great. The room was very comfortable. The check in process was very long even though we paid on hotels.com. The second floor was kind of creepy near the elevators because the lights were out. It was fine in the daytime. We both loved the place especially for the low price.

My room was ok. The door handle would not open unless you tried several times. The window to my room wad not secure, and had a police officer notice it could just be pulled open. The TV color was horrible and the picture would go in and out on the TV. The shower head was installed really low, and I am short and had to adjust it and duck to be under […] it. Great stay for a weekend getaway, it was a little bit of a rough neighbourhood, but there was at least a security presence. Only took 12 minutes to get downtown from the lobby. Great beds for the price, quiet, smelled good, friendly service downstairs; I'd stay here again.

The Hotel itself is awesome, nice rooms, comfy bed, good service all around.. We already decided that next time we need a hotel in the area that were coming back there. With all the construction and its location to 75 and 635 it can ve tough to get to, but thats a minor issue, compared to all the good things.

Hotel amenities that were advertise were either extremely exaggerated or non existent. The place looked like my teenage nephews remodeled it. It had quite the brothel like feel as I heard noises down the hall and saw sketchy men coming in and out of the hotel. We thought that this hotel was worth more than the $50.00ish paid. The service was excellent, there was a security guard patrolling the area and our cars during the night, and the room was recently renovated. For the money we paid, it was definitely worth it.

Not very good service. I paid a cash deposit, and upon check out there was't anyone available to check the room. I was delayed and had to wait till someone from the next shift showed up for work. The front desk clert did not consider that I late for other apporintments waiting on my money to be refunded. Title says it all. We found a portion of marijuana and a scale in the room on the couch, of course the seven year old found it. We reported it right away to two different employees who said they'd send a manager to take care of it. We never heard from one. We left the scale and kush remnants with the girl at the front desk who once again said a manager […] would be contacting us, and once again never did. Stay anywhere else but here. Les mer

Was my honeymoon. The website made it seem a lot nicer. One of the reasons I picked that hotel was the website showed comp breakfast and a nice restaurant. The front desk clerk said it h had been closed for a long time. Website was very misleading

We enjoyed our stay. The hotel is clean. The location is great if you are going all over. Addison, Plano, Frisco, Downtown. It's right in the middle of everything. We rented the two bed suite which was really two small rooms converted to one big room. There was a lot of wasted space. However, the price was right and it was a clean room.

The room was clean, staff was friendly, and best of all, it was inexpensive. Although my window was plexiglass (2nd floor), I would stay here again. Tip: the mute button on the remote turns the TV on and off.

Recently refreshed paint and furnishings Apr 2013 - quality of a Hampton for less than half the price. Doing major road construction on I635 in front of the hotel that is a pain until you figure it out.

I live in Dallas and needed a hotel on a budget for a week while they restored my condo. I didn't want one of those plastic "leave the lights on" places. This was like a real hotel. Reminded me of hotels I have stayed in in New York and San Francisco. There is a Starbucks across the parking lot too!
