I am writing to express my extreme dissatisfaction with a recent stay at the Howard Johnson Motel in Ocala, FL, which I booked through your platform for the Florida Swim State Championship. The experience was far below the standard I expected, especially considering the price of $100 per night.
Upon arrival, I noticed several issues that made my stay uncomfortable and distressing:
Moisture and Unpleasant Air Quality: Despite having the air conditioning on, the room had a significant amount of moisture, creating an uncomfortable and unhealthy environment.
Unclean Pillows and Bedding: The pillowcases appeared dirty, so I requested fresh ones. However, even after receiving replacement pillows, their quality was subpar and did not provide the expected comfort.
Pest Infestation: I encountered multiple cockroaches in the room and killed three during my stay. Additionally, the room had small flies, which I could not identify or trace to their origin. We were careful to keep the door tightly closed when entering and exiting, but this did not seem to help.
The combination of these issues made it impossible to feel safe or comfortable during our stay, and I was anxious to leave the property as soon as possible. Considering the numerous problems I encountered, I do not believe the room was worth the $100 per night charge.
Given the unacceptable conditions, I am requesting a partial reimbursement for the stay. I trust that Hotels.com values customer satisfaction and hear me out.
