Kimpton Rouge Hotel

Stayed in DC for some business meetings.

Carpet torn in room. Otherwise nice, clear room. Had bug in bathroom sink. Some kind of roach. Maybe came out of drain pipe. All managable. I like Kimptons.

There is a lack of food, bar and television reception.

We enjoyed our stay at the hotel. My daughters and I visited for the Fall 2019 Howard University Open House event, and wanted to stay nearby the campus. We enjoyed our spacious room, and good customer service. I would recommend that they improve their continental breakfast. The bagels/toast were too hard. Also, we paid $100 to park ($49 parking fee, parking tax, service fee, plus service tax)!!! Very expensive!!! Also, our room did not have updated cell phone charging ports. Luckily, I brought my wall plug-in charger. We also did not face any facial towels in our room, but a quick call to housekeeping rectified the problem.

I had to call for housekeeping service late in the afternoon one day; the breakfast staff was not friendly and didn’t bother to apologize when they ran out of something as basic as orange juice. I nearly fell in water dripping from the dispenser in the lobby one night; the desk staff hadn’t even noticed a large puddle on the floor. I’ve stayed at this hotel many times, but I’ll be looking for a new hotel in DC for future trips.
