Red Lion Hotel on the River Jantzen Beach

Room was pretty dirty when we arrived. It obviously just was cleaned in a rush. The coffee maker still had old coffee and grounds in it, there was dust and dirt everywhere and people were partying very loudly all night all around us. When you walk into the lobby and get checked in, it's day and night compared to the rooms. For the price we paid, I expected a bit more.

As soon as i walked in, i noticed a uswd Q tip on the bathroom floor. The room i got was eight near rhe I 5 bridge ao the noise of the freeway kept me up most of the night.

While the location and facility were very nice the service and amenities were defintely lacking. Also the parking lot and garbage were overun and dirty as if people were living there. Otherwise the view of the river and comfort of our room was nice. I would definitely stay there again assuming they cleannup their act.

Great staff, room is very nice, very clean. The bed is extremely comfortable, the tv is twice the size of the usual hotel room. There is a little balcony with a table and chair and view of the river. Excellent value for the price. This is my preferred hotel when staying in the Portland area.

I have stayed here a number of times. Nice rooms at a reasonable rate, with a beautiful view of the river at night.

Disappointing all the way around. We checked in right after a big snowstorm and the hotel had lost power the night before, so we understood going in that the staff may not be operating at full capacity but the cleanliness of the hotel and rooms were terrible. As we walked to our first room, the hallways were filthy. They looked like they hadn’t been vacuumed in weeks and dishes were left outside of rooms. Our first room definitely had not been vacuumed or cleaned. The sheets and bedding were covered in long hairs from a previous occupant and there were crumbs and dust bunnies in every corner. We called the front desk and they said they would send up their “inspector” to take a look at the room. A few minutes later, one of the hotel staff arrived at our door and handed us keys to a different room. As we walked to our new room the hallways and elevator looked even worse. Some areas looked like they hadn’t been cleaned or checked on in months. Our new room was very old and outdated (one of their “premium” offerings), but at least it had been serviced. The hotel staff did call our new room and offered us free breakfast the next morning. As we looked around our new room, it became apparent to both my wife and I that we could not envision ourselves staying the night here and only after arriving at the hotel an hour earlier we decided to leave the hotel completely. We didn’t even ask for a refund. We simply just left out of a side door and sadly will never return.

It’s an old hotel next to expo central area. Due to power outage, we stayed 2 nights there. The staffs in front desk and bar are very nice and friendly. Room is ok to stay ,warm, shower is strong, carpet color is no shown dirty spots. It’s not fancy hotel, but no bad spots to pick up. Only my concern is dog poop is everywhere outside parking lots. But I could understand this situation. They are definitely short of staffs working there. I saw one guy working in the lobby bar, taking care of cashier, cleaning tables, bartenders, waitress, absolutely all in one. But he is still smiling. This is an American.

This place is very clean, friendly and perfect location. Great staff from front desk to maintenance.

Nice on the river. A barge may pass by, like a ghost, in the middle of the night.

Fast check in by the front counter person. Super nice greeting. Room service meals were fast and good Food and prices. Rooms could be a bit cleaner. Hotel needs updating badly. Hallways are way run down, and other guests were partying in the room above us and smoking weed. So needless to say our sleep was terrible.
