We stayed here for 2 nights while traveling for an AAU basketball tournament. This is a great hotel at an even greater price compared to others. The Drury Inn next door was about $100 more a night. I was also pleased to learn the Pear Tree Inn is owned by Drury.
The lobby is very small and basic, because why do they need to be huge and fancy? The have free popcorn available all day, and lemonade. Staff was very nice and friendly. Our room did havea smell to it, kind of like your grandmas house. Old! The beds were incredibly comfortable and clean. I always check for bug residue and there was NONE. I like that the bathroom sink and mirror were just outside the bathroom so others can use it if someone was pooping. The pillows were nice. One soft and one feather.
Thankfully the don’t do housekeeping unless you request it so no one was there making noise in the mornings. As we were leaving I noticed an employee cleaning the stair railings. I’ve never seen this done at any other hotels so it impressed me.
The free breakfast was lacking but it had the main items: coffee, fruit, toast, muffins, cereal, yogurt, and waffles.
The pool was open although we did not swim. It was 9ft deep too.
I am pleased with our stay at the Pear Tree Inn. It doesn’t look like much on the outside and didn’t have bells and whistles inside. It was exactly what I was looking for and I think I had the best hotel-sleep ever in that bed. If I’m ever in the area again I will stay here again.
