Our flight was delayed to the next morning by weather. We arrived the next morning at 0900. We were told that our booking of three nights had been cancelled and was non refundable.
I had sent an email to the hotel via Hotel.com link informing of the delay to our check-in.
On arrival the receptionist was adamant that the room was cancelled and no email had been received.
After much persuasion I managed to get her to look for the email again properly, this took quite a while, not what you want after 3 hours sleep, and after much sucking of teeth she begrudgingly re-instated our final two nights without apology.
The resort fee I feel is extortionate, as arriving on a Saturday i'm unlikely to get my free laundry done in time for Monday, Resort credit was not valid in the rooftop bar which was closed 45 minutes early on the Sunday and on a sightseeing trip to NYC i'm unlikely to at 63 to use the gym.
The room was clean with a view but with no in-room tea or coffee making.
I found the decoration of the bathroom rather disturbing as trying to pee with "machine gun Kelly's wife" watching you and another criminal watching over your shoulder can be off putting.
