The mixed reviews are perplexing. My experience: This is a budget hotel at best but does not appear that way from the photos. I avoid budget hotels and savvy enough that I should have known by the price. There are reviews of old rooms that need updating. All older hotels have older rooms but good ones update them. I chalked their experiences up to bad luck. I asked for a newer room, and she said ours was a "Premium King" and it was "very nice." Clearly we differ on what "very nice" means. It was not a newer room, so she either ignored my request, or there aren't any newer rooms. The only updated feature, thankfully, was the mattress. Other reviews cited old uncomfortable mattresses. And frankly, however, the upholstered chair was disgustingly dirty. The worst part of the experience was the check-in: room not ready at 3pm. This was far more than an inconvenience since I needed to be dressed and ready for an event at 3:30. They said I could use the bathroom in the lobby to change. Wonderful! The people who gave good reviews are either lucky or have never stayed in better hotels. Travelers beware.
