Hôtel de la Place du Louvre

Great central location. The front desk was extremely helpful when it came to directions on the metro, where to transfer etc. We were going to take a taxi to the train station but was advised on how to take the metro and it was a breeze!

I’m a frequent business traveler and had a day+ to tour a little of Paris. I chose to stay walking distance from the Louvre. It is a 5-10 min walk from the museum, restaurants and shopping. My hotel room was very clean with all modern amenities. Yes the rooms are small but for one or two people it was suitable for a short jaunt to Paris. I would stay here again.

This hotel is right across the street from the Louvre. If you are arriving from the Chatalet metro station, all you need to do is exit the Chatalet train station using the Pont Neuf exit, walk down Point Neuf street until you hit the Seine, and turn right and walk along the Seine until you hit the Louvre. Walk on the opposite side of the street from the Sully building of the Louvre and you will be right in front of the street the hotel is on. There is a large church across the street from the Sully building of the Louvre, St. Marie, I think. If you stand in front of that church, with the Sully building in back of you, this hotel will be on the street to your right. I give these instructions because there was a little construction at Chatalet and our iPhone navigation did not work. Also, iPhone won't work in the Chatalet train station. So getting to this hotel is easy. The street the hotel is on parallels the Seine and is one street behind the street that parallels the Seine. Hotel breakfast is very good. If you are visiting the Louvre, skip the cafe that is part of the museum, and walk a few blocks away from the Seine to the cafes on the side streets. These are literally only two blocks away and are superb. Hotel staff here was *very* helpful in pointing out restaurants and other travel advice. Excellent location for seeing Louvre, Notre Dame (we walked) D'Orsay (we walked), and Lovure. Louvre open till 9pm on Wednesday, D'Orsay open til 9 on Thursday. You will not regret

The staff were very nice. The location was ideal (close to everything-transport shopping, The Louvre, good cafe’s) I felt the place could be a bit cleaner, but I felt that way about Paris in general.
