Extended Stay America Indianapolis - Castleton

1st room I was given smelled like cigarette smoke. Elevator made loud noise didn’t feel comfortable taking it.

The kitchenette was nice to have. The room was okay. I did find a dead bed bug in the sheets They need a real continental breakfast with hot food. All they had was granola bars muffins coffee water and tea

THE BAD...I know the Indy area so although not the best area, it suited my needs. Two biggest areas of concern were lack of cleanliness of the room and the lack of communication of the policy to auto-cancel rooms at 1am even if you tell them you will have a late check-in but I was only made aware of this when I was booking a second night directly through the hotel. Otherwise, my room would have been auto-canceled because I chose the option to pay at the hotel. The shower was dirty and it didn't look like counters and furniture had been cleaned well either. THE GOOD...I had a Thursday night room through hotels.com and a Friday night room directly through hotel. I didn't get to hotel until 10am Friday AM due to missed connecting flight. They allowed me to check-in and they did refund me half the price of Thursday night since I could not make it to the hotel due to flights. Also, once I knew about their auto-cancel policy, they did let me pay for hotel via phone and left notes for staff members as to my morning arrival so they knew about my situation when I arrived. Lastly, the person in reservations helped me get a better rate by signing up for their rewards program.

The hotel itself was OK. The front desk lady was helpful. The location pretty sketchy.
